This is my first complete disassembly although I have a tried a few others (they are still in progress). I could not and wouldn't have tackled this without your videos Michael. I discovered issues with the day/date works and but have trudged through them until I can find a donor. To get this far and see the watch come alive is un believably rewarding. On to the last vid!

@@MyRetroWatches So I have had an issue with day/date from the beginning as the two two plastic parts (you call both of them by the same name in the video?) "date fingers" were broken. I finally obtained a donor (6309 but disappointingly they are not identical. sigh. Now to make matters even more confusing when you place the "date finger" the last piece you place on the assembly of the day/date parts does not look the same as my 6106. Yours looks metal and fairly "solid", mine is plastic and has cut outs in it if that makes any sense. , and the one that came in the watch when I bought it on Ebay, looks identical to the date finger on the 6309. So I don't know what to do now. Maybe someone had tried to also use parts from a 6309 and tried to combine them with one of the parts from the 6106? I have taken a last stab at something and I'll put it together now and see what happens. :)

I really wish that at least one watch channel would do an assembly video on the Chinese automatic movement. It is so fundamentally different from Chinese clones of other companies products.

Thanks for the video it was very helpful. Maybe you touched on it in your first video, but could you go over which parts you cleaned and what you used to clean them. I have an ultrasonic cleaner and some cleaning fluid that Is for jewelry. Is this ok and if so do I need to rinse everything after the bath in the ultrasonic cleaner. Keep up the great videos. I was able to clean and rebuild my first watch thanks to your video. I did have to put a touch of oil on the pallet to get it humming along. Thanks again for your contribution to the hobby.

I just purchased a sealion m88 that has this movement, my question is, this particular watch should be serviced thru the glass and I'm wondering if you did this in the past and have any tips in this regard, love your channel and how you explain every step, cheers!!

on quickset? the 6106 and 6119 its a push the crown in setup . Often crap builds up behind the crown and around the tube. Remove the stem and crown from the movement and take a look, just use a pin or something similar to scrape out all the DNA and you may find it works after that.

Thanks man. Like many, My Day / Date and hack doesn't work. Thoughts? Thanks for the tutorials

That’s a big question. Day date change is achieved by pushing the crown in for date and pushing harder in for day.
Often crap builds up behind the crown that prevents this so I would check there.
If hack does not work then either the lever is missing or broken or out of position.
You would only know by stripping the movement down.

@MyRetroWatches thanks for the reply. I really appreciate it. I should have mentioned that I have run across many folks who can't get their day/date working on the 6106. This movement has been fully disassembled, cleaned, lubed, and reassembled. It seems to be an issue. I cleaned and inspected the hack, and it's okay, at least to my knowledge. However, the small pinion on the keyless works has nowhere to connect to. Seems like I'm missing something. 😕 Thoughts?
