Drill the nut and cap works. Drill the the cap at an angle. Shocked you got no upvote, but sponsors..... Sam Pilgrim is a good rider, but he is just another bought and paid for puppet. How many times have you heard him say? "I won't mention those because they are not from my sponsored brands" That bugs me so hard.
@Leo Herran Some of these guys say it how it is. They just put the focus on the money. How he does it, is refusal to mention at all which is pure greed. Haibike is one of his sponsors for example, yet he fails to mention certain parts because it's not his brand. I lost all respect for him at that point. All that talk he about stirring the pot only to run from it.
@@ChannelZeroOne He is not gonna say that the standard components are better, If he has sponsors and wants to keep riding for his sponsors. Why do you think that in all the Pedal Reviews on gmbn the crankbrother pedals are always the recommended ones

I leave the top cap on and screw in the bolt so that it is the right depth. Then I tap in the star nut and the top cap stops on the stem and it makes sure it goes in straight.
Very informative! Think I might have to throw out a smaller chain ring and go free coaster. This lets me use a manual machine without taking the chain off
Which spacers exactly do you use? Does the small cog, 11t, still end up in the right positipn and could be used? Is the freecoaster gap too narrow to not catch the chain accidentially, when only one cog is removed? ???
I'd have ground the teeth off a sprocket, that way there's no change in the spacing. Also the sprocket might guide the chain better than just dropping it in a gap, and make it easier to shift to the adjacent sprocket.
Won't the rear brake cable and shifter cable still make it impossible to get more that maybe one or 2 turns out of this system? Unless you give it a quarter mile worth of slack looping around the head tube you still have a problem. In theory could you run a electronic wireless shifter with the free coaster mod you just did? And add a gyro to the front end for the rear brake. Then I think you may actually have true infinite bar spins
I'm kinda late here but would drilling a hole in the top cap i have work, i would be fine spending 10 bucks on a hollow top cap but all the starnut business would be a pain
#GMBNTECH / Doddy which cassette is 12 speed / XD and has separate sprockets? Or did you just change the freehub to an HG kind, and threw on some 11 speed sprockets?
I found that confusing too. He says he replaced 2 of the sprockets with the spacers, and in the closeup of installation I counted 10 sprockets, which would mean there were originally 12 sprockets.
Any modifications to a component usually voids a warranty and since he has to modify the star crown nut thingy to route the front brake, i would give a solid yes, yes it would. Mostly on the fork, perhaps front brake, maybe shifters dropper post etc depending on what break on them.
If you really want to just fuck around on the street, you should probably just buy bmx,you can find really good ones for 300$ and they are made to take abuse, you can throw it around and crash it all you want. Also much easier to manual/bunny hop etc.
This might be the most stupid question ever but I’m kinda new to mtb so I guess it’s ok. I always wonder why people bash the starnut in instead of doing it with an Alan key. Anyone know why?
#askgmbntech I have a 2011 26" Voodoo Hoodoo that I am sprucing up with spare parts. I am thinking of replacing the original 120mm Suntour Raidon forks with a 130mm Rochshox Recon fork. Does it matter that the Rockshox fork is from a 27.5" bike? Thanks!
Doddy can you help with this one ? I am a lot older than 16. But if I fill it in or not the page will not let me go any further ? ? ? Can you help ?
I always associate jibbing with avoiding anything slightly risky? Eg he jibbed the drop off... Meaning he pulled out at last minute. Ah well language changes.
Well Doddy this is not for me or our club ,as i hope you know our respect for you is 100% but kids tricks we stopped showing off like this in our early teens childish nonsense ,sorry this we didnt watch.PD
'Just drill a hole in the starnut '
Sam Pilgrim
And put it in with a brick or shovel

@@ChannelZeroOne That's his job and he signs a contract, you could say all factory sposored riders are "bought and paid for puppets" then.

I LOVE seeing BMX and MTB melding.
It’s all about jib’n 🤘🏻
Carefully using the supplied bolt? Anyone told Mr Pilgrim?
Very nice barspin tricks
Awesome video! Can't wait for Chris to show us how he will use this wonderful machine 👍

Sam Pilgrim does this
maxitaksi 88 and 50to01
Awesome vídeo, I'm going to use the barspin in my Street Trials
U can also us the One Ups EDC steer tube system. Leave the tool out and u can run your cables down
PERFECT!!
I have done it and I think the Trickstuff topcap is much better than the one of the Video
Great video.
love these video, really are a massive help, thanks Doddy
11:45 just for the front hose.
Love your videos doddy
Nice one - thanks Charlie!
Other than the freecoaster, the hotboi way to do this would be AXS, a Trickstuff Trixer and a Rockshox Turncoat
I leave the top cap on and screw in the bolt so that it is the right depth. Then I tap in the star nut and the top cap stops on the stem and it makes sure it goes in straight.
Sorry I butchered explaining that it’s easier to show than explain through text.
for the oil on brake parts just burn em xD put them on the street somewhere some brake cleaner on them and burn em
Nice video well done keep up the good work 👍

Stiffer suspension is also great for jibbing
No suspension is even better,no brakes and no gears even better, basically what im saying just buy bmx
Best vid by far😂
Older Man Utd fans once had a very different definition of what jibbing entails. Inter City Jibbers: To Pay Is To Fail.
ADding a bit more compression in your fork and shok can also make a big diferense
Can you send the link for the Hollow star nut
Chris should try a footjam whip
Nice one
Do people who Jib mostly run larger or smaller handlebars for barspins and tricks?

Lol, AWESOME VID
Cheers!
Cool
with or without the last gear? which type works better?
Good
which starnut set is this?
Industry Nine has a prototype freecoaster for Mountainbikes
What size spacers do I need for the cassette to do the freecoast?
Does all that bar spinning cause cable rub?
#GMBNTECH / Doddy which cassette is 12 speed / XD and has separate sprockets? Or did you just change the freehub to an HG kind, and threw on some 11 speed sprockets?
I found that confusing too. He says he replaced 2 of the sprockets with the spacers, and in the closeup of installation I counted 10 sprockets, which would mean there were originally 12 sprockets.
I watched it again, and there’s definitely an hg freehub on there all of the sudden. Doddy Copperfield did that trick quite smooth 😁
Tbh i wouldnt recommend you do this "hack" its really not practical and you can fakie just as good with cassete
Sram nx eagle has single sprockets for a shimano freehub
will the barspin mod void warranty?

If you don’t have the starnut or bolt you can just drill a hole through your top cap and cut one off the teeth of the starnut
Not recommend but if you watch one of Sam pilgrims set up videos he shows you how to route the cables with a conventional star nut
Could you send us the link? Would be nice to compare, there are tons of videos from Sam.
ruclips.net/video/HFrb4lbce9w/видео.html
It's towards the end of this video where he does it
@@Woodysglassart Thanks
Search Trickstuff Dirtcap in the Internet I think it‘s the best option
a half cab is from the skateboarding world, which is essentially a 180 from fakie to right yourself
Sam pilgrim just drilled through the side ot the top cap and star nut
Doesn't that free coaster hack wear out your chain?
The wear is probably negligible if your chain is lubed
actually hate the word jibbing but video was neat!

Heh, I've never heard the word "jibbing" before. Sounds more like something you'd do in a sail boat.
They make gyro for mtb now rather run that then cord straight down
First, and congrats on 100k

what is jibbing ?
If I understand correctly, jibbing is just playing around.
