This was so helpful! My girlfriend and I have just purchased our first home! only issue is this has happened to the entire house 🤣 So we now have to re-render and plaster the entire thing. None of us know how to render or plaster lmao ! Its going to be a challenge as we need to learn as we do it! I'd say only 5% of the house has the render still stuck to the brickwork. absolute nightmare! but we are taking this opportunity to do an full house damp course.
Most people in here he's not a pro . I think he did a great job frist of all for even tryin it and he got it done complete under pressure hats off to you
For a DIY job you did good! I’ve seen much worse by ‘professionals’. Next time draw a square around the damaged area and score the plaster or use a multi tool to cut around the area. When you remove the blown plaster it won’t disturb the plaster you want to keep.
Mate you need to prime bonding if your doing it next day you made your life hard there did the plaster not craze with it drying too quick next time plaster wall same day will give you plenty time to play with it
3 water 1 pva don't no why he telling people to apply water he made his life impossible are mix sbr in with your bonding then you won't need to prime it at all
You even matched the wall color so perfectly. Amazing!

The result is what counts and it looks well, good little project.
Nicely done Solly!!
The dry plaster did make me chuckle 😂😂😂😂
Me too. I have always found dry plaster a real hoot😊
I think HardWall is the best when down to the brick, and Bonding if not all the plaster is gone.
Why not use hardwall?
In a similar situation. I think I'm just going to dig out the cracks and fill 😅
My wall sounds like half way between blown and solid. It's not even close to how hollow that sounds, and yet it's not a nice solid either
