  • Let's build a new Windows 10 computer! Specifically, a work PC for creating LGR videos and other intensive audiovisual tasks. My i7-6700K machine was getting a bit sluggish for editing large 4K 60fps video projects, so this AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3970X build will be a massive improvement.

Oh and hey, as a fellow new Ryzen owner - one of the things I found most amazing about having *so many cores* was that, I can actually do other things while rendering now. Even if all the cores are in use, I guess there's enough leeway among all of them that you don't even notice it while browsing, watching videos, or even playing some less demanding games, *while* rendering a video or in Blender or whatever... It's nuts. My old 4c/8t system was slower, sure, but it also literally was completely unresponsive when doing anything like rendering. I had to just get on my phone and wait because I couldn't even watch YT at the same time. On my new system, I sometimes literally forget I'm rendering something using 24 cores in the background. With more threads, you don't have to change the priority in the first place - and both the main task and the background tasks run at full speed and responsiveness, something that is certainly not true for lower thread count CPU's, because, well, the resources simply aren't there.

That's my case! Really like that case. I think I've messed with my desktop internals several times too often just because the case is a joy to work with.

Some of the content I learned that Linus Tech Tips never taught. It is nice to learn information you can't as other major tech channels skip over it thinking you seen it before.

"Vegas Strip on Acid." I see you are a man of culture like me.
By the way, since you like to name your rigs, there you go, bathed in RGB irony: "Vegas Strip on Acid" is a great name for a rig.
