    On March 26, 1991, five young boys left their respective homes to head out on search for frogs (salamander eggs by other accounts) on Mount Waryong in the outskirts of Daegu, South Korea. However, these young friends would never return home. Their mysterious disappearance would spark a case that made national headlines and still remains unsolved to this day. What actually happened to those five boys on Mount Waryong...?

    also the police did not handke this case well at all, they at first dismissed the case and said it was just a runaway case, they also didn't handle the crime scene correctly and basically dumped the bones together in piles

    • @lenaBesos
      @lenaBesos 2 года назад +8

      Yes, they didn’t even try to organize the bones as bodies like is typically done to help identify them correctly. As you said, they just put them as piles (long bones together, short bones together, etc.)

    If they did know how to get around the mountain, there would be no reason for them to stay when it got cold. They could have just went home. I think there's definitely some shady business in this case. May the boys rest in peace.

  • @ShoalBear
    @ShoalBear 2 года назад +34

    Aria, yes an ID is required, however it is seldom, if ever, done at the scene. Typically it is at the morgue. And while the body can still be bad to look at, it's nowhere as traumatic as these poor people went through!!

  • @jtaylorb28
    @jtaylorb28 2 года назад +36

    I think that their bodies were probably put there after the whole search, that is what makes the most sense to me because it doesn't make sense that they could have made such an extensive search of that entire area and had not found them. Also the way they were placed, from what your describing, sounds pretty suspicious

    • @ivethdiaz315
      @ivethdiaz315 2 года назад

      Hey so in the report made the Head CSI noted that the bodies were so perfectly put together that it wouldn’t have made sense or wouldn’t have been possible for someone to put the there and for the bodies to be put so perfectly together

    The fact that there is a 15 year statute of limitations is bs. But I also believe there was more than one person involved in this crime because I don't think it would have been possible for one person to kill 5 teenagers without at least one of them escaping.

  • @TheCinder24
    @TheCinder24 2 года назад +46

    Oh My Goddess. I have never heard of this story. How tragic for the families involved. Glad they got rid of the statute of limitations for murder. I feel the clues of the investigation lead towards someone important or the police or the military and it was covered up by those in charge.

    This case along with Little Gregory, McDonald Boys and Tan Children and so so many more are absolutely heartbreaking. Because these are kids, innocent little kids that couldn't possibly have done ANYTHING to make someone so angry or so vengeful to want to kill them. I mean murder and disappearences are tragic in EVERY case and NO ONE deserves it, but like with adults and such at least you can somewhat speculate and understand, in a way the motive? Because it's money and jelousy and maybe people cheating ect. Again, no one deserves to die and there is no excuse but there is an EXPLONATION that you can wrap your mind around...that someone is just greedy or jelous or gets angry. But kids? It's always hard to wrap your mind around the "why".

    • @cocolime6496
      @cocolime6496 2 года назад +1

      hate. that's what it boils down to, basically. and usually perpetrators who do something like this are driven by a compulsion that causes them to enjoy inflicting this kind of suffering, and gives them a sense of power. and i know it's complex and this isn't very scientific of me to say, but personally I call that hate. I truly believe that "people" who do this are evil incarnate

    • @Flanneryschickens
      @Flanneryschickens 2 года назад +1

      @@cocolime6496 I'm more inclined to believe that whoever was responsible here killed them because of convenience -- for example if someone at the shooting range injured or killed one or two of the boys and then felt they had to kill the others to cover it up. Being young and probably encouraged to respect their elders, even more so if the perpetrators were military, these kids may have just obeyed them if told to line up together or get on the ground etc.

    I don’t think they were at that mountain the whole time. I think their remains were dumped back there after some time based on how the evidence was found and when. That area was searched about 500 times by so many people. They would’ve caught that if the boys were there in the beginning or buried there soon after. Just my opinion.
    Additionally, the police in this country are rather…unmotivated…for most things, no matter the severity. So them botching this isn’t surprising.

    • @cocolime6496
      @cocolime6496 2 года назад +1

      i agree it's very likely, but I'm a bit torn on the scenario...
      i follow a lot of true crime and there have been cases where the crime scene is a forest that is so vast and dense that it's possible to miss something even when it's combed over carefully several times over. of course i don't know anything about this area so maybe that wasn't the case.
      and then there's the police incompetence to consider. it could be that they did such a shoddy job that they failed these children and basically left them to die of exposure 😒

    I'm guessing that whom ever did this had some form of authority in order to "immobilize" verbally the kids. I mean when i was a kid especially when doing kids stuff as part of a gang we would run fast and as far as we could each time some adult would come up on us for whatever reason. But a uniformed person could have another affect on the kids..

  • @cocolime6496

    i agree there should be no statute of limitations on murder, but i do see one possible good reason for having one: once it's expired the murderer can relax and maybe even be more open about what they did, knowing they wouldn't go to jail. *however* that's not to say they can't be arrested for something else related to the murder, or another crime they've committed since then. then it's about using the system to your advantage as a judge and give them maximum sentence for something else. maybe allow some social justice to occur.... *or* maybe they can place no limit on filing a civil suit?

    Authorities sometimes have family ID a body by a photograph rather than taking them to the actual body. Or if they are too decomposed, they can try to identify them by dental records.

    I think of of the leading reasons why the nearby military base was involved in the disappearance was it was not investigated immediately or at least enough at the height of the frog boys' investigation. The military base merely denied that they were having any shooting exercises at that day and weren't prodded further. I've watched a couple of documentaries relating to the frog boys. People found it weird that they would get lost to a very familiar place and their bodies would later be found on the base of the mountains after people plowed through that mountain for years during the height of the investigation.

Or, an unknown assailant without a motive but is suffering from a psychosis 🤨Who are they covering for?!
