    As someone who does this professionally and makes large, sculptural type pieces, I find what works best for me is just not using pre-coloured clay. I buy grey, tan or white premo by the pound, then use it to make my entire piece and dont worry at all about anything non-textured (dirt, discoloration, etc) then I simply paint over it all when the sculpting stage is finished. Every now and then I get a hair hanging out, and that does affect my work (and sanity lol) but otherwise most issues can either be quickly sanded away once cured or just painted over.

      @@rintohsaka15 good question because half of my hanging hair comes from the darn brushes but im buying cheap. As often as i use them... And laziness cleaning them.. im sure they are way more then my budget but i am curious. I want to do ceramic but theu say u need a lot of money to rent or buy all the kilns and whatever u need. I tried painting my pieces after but they never look as perfect as clay that color, i found. But ive also never been a good inline colorer or scissor cutter... For that matter

      I’d *much* rather sand schmutz and fingerprints off than use acetone. Acetone is apt to “melt” not just the polymer, but any inclusions as well.
      It’s the one time sanding’s okay with me. ☺️

    Use baby wipes disinfection is not needed here also instead of scrap clay get poster tack its cheaper you get more and it works much better plus its always soft. I have been at this clay thing for over 15 years now. You can also use a baby wipe to get fingerprints and dust off the pieces.I find I get a nice smooth finish with my fingers alone.

    • @Tomatoda
      @Tomatoda  Год назад +2

      That’s happens to me sometimes too. Usually it’s one of two things - 1) the cotton pad is used up too much and it’s like rubbing around the melted clay I guess? So try using a new clean cotton pad or cotton swab. 2) You’re using too much acetone. Like the cotton pad is drenched in acetone maybe. I suggest putting a little bit of acetone on a cotton pad and gently swipe over the existing white streaks. Hope that works for u.

      tbh, ive never used anything else besides 100% acetone. but for the most part I think it should work. my only concern with lower acetone percentages is the rest of the formula might be made of up scented oil stuff or hydrating ingredients... which I dont know how it would react with clay? maybe it might just make it slightly shiny?

    【事前準備】
    * 0:10
    * 0:24
    * 0:55
    【正式開始】
    * 1:32
    * 2:30
    * 3:00
    * 3:25
    * 4:05
    * 4:55
    * 5:55

      if your acrylic paint is super thick, you can use acetone on a cotton swab (q-tip) to smooth it out, but you have to be careful cuz it easily dissolves the paint. also like 80-90% of the time, coating it with resin (epoxy or UV depending on the project) will give the paint a smooth flat look
