  • Netisane is a brand for a series of products from upcycling coffee fruit skin/ Cascara by AGAVI (PT. Agritama Sinergi Innovation) in collaboration with local farmer groups in Indonesia. This brand is dedicated as an inclusive business to increase both social impact and business impact for local communities.
    Cascara, which means “husk”, “peel” or “skin” in Spanish, is the dried skins of coffee cherries. Normally, Cascara is considered a by-product of the coffee-making process and is either discarded as waste or used as compost. However, through some research, we came up with technology that could help us develop and enhance the good and unique taste of Cascara which also came with very high antioxidant. With our technology, Cascara is upcycled, so it is no longer become a waste. The value is added creating unique and healthy drinks for everyone.
    Although it comes from the coffee plant, Cascara tastes nothing like coffee when brewed. After it is separated from the coffee beans, the coffee cherry pulps are slowly fermented and dried. Because it is brewed from dried fruit, it most closely relates to fruit tea with mild sour flavour and raisins-like scents. Cascara is mild in caffeine, packed with Antioxidants and Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF) which boost brain health. Thus, Cascara is definitely one of the superfoods you should not miss.
    Collaborating with coffee farmers from All over Indonesia, we are trying to fill up a critical missing piece of the sustainability efforts throughout coffee-growing communities. It is also our goals to create additional income for the local coffee farmers in Indonesia.
