Nice one! I’ve the tried the white birch and spring drive version but I haven’t seen the black in person yet… On my wrist right now is the Grand Seiko Sea of Clouds… 🌟
"Look at that subtle off-black coloring; the tasteful thickness of the hour hand… Oh my God, it even has an exhibition case back." Beautiful watch, almost everything I ever wanted from GS! Hoping for a Spring Drive version of it though, as was the case with the White Birch. Also the bracelet seems a little dull to me, especially when the case itself shines with the usual fantastic Zaratsu polishing. I'd love GS to be little more adventurous with their bracelets, as they did with their "Beads of Rice" jubilee style bracelet in the past. Other than that, I'd get the Spring Drive version in a heartbeat... GS is just on another level.
i love the chocolate hues that come out in the light. I'm wearing my new Tissot seastar 1000 in blue. Purchased a few weeks ago on my fathers 80th Birthday. I have it in blue and have swapped the bracelet for a midnight blue silicone band by Archer. Great match. Love your videos.
That's going to be a nice match with the snowflake. It'll add GS's newest hi-beat to your collection too. I've got a newer 9RA2 and a 9F quartz. I am on the lookout for something with this 9SA5 to have all three.
@@Littletreasury I like it but it is the same case as my slga007, I think they'd look too similar, even with the different dial and titanium. I'll know the right hi-beat when I see it, and your store is the first place I'll call when I do.
Very odd, I never got a note on the Bremont watch review, maybe a RUclips issue. Nice review with good detail, I always have a weakness for titanium. I like the increased accuracy. Wearing my Tissot perpetual calendar today.
Thank you very much, and I really appreciate everything that you said! I own 18 watches myself currently and I'm not done lol! If you are ever in the area, stop by and I will give you a tour of our shop!
Watching wearing my SBGP017 while waiting for my Thailand Limited SBGH303 (green moss/Koke-iro) :) Did you buy one of the limited editions when you were here? And that black birch, definitely really nice but I already have the OG white birch. Regards from Bangkok. P.S.: these Seiko Thailand editions seem much more Thailand themed than the new GS ones.
Congrats on the SBGP017! You know, I was in Thailand when those editions were released but I found it perplexing that they weren't Thailand themed. Thailand has so many things that can be translated into watches, which is why I picked up the Yak Wat Chang LE and that whole series really is great IMO.
@@Littletreasury fair enough, I agree and felt a bit like that too, that Seiko one is quite nice indeed and more on point re:Thailand. I still went for the green moss as I don't like leather straps and love the 62GS case and 100 pieces is kinda cool ;)
That feeling when Thailand gets more regional Seiko and GS exclusives than the whole of Europe 😭. Thanks for the insight into the night birch. I’m more of a fan of the Lake Suwa texture but these are certainly pretty tasty.
Good video as always. I appreciate the effort shown by this watch and others in the Evo 9 lineup. The Evo 9 design language is, however, a hard no for me. Tried all the watches with that new design and non felt sorted or completely grand seiko. The hour hand looks butch and seems to be missing lume. The minute hand looks dressy, which does not match the hour hand. The movement, while technically impressive could easily be mistaken in appearance for a European movement. Same for the case/bracelet. I’m sure GS is gaining some new customers with these designs but I’m glad they have not switched over to it entirely and continue to put out some winners in more quintessential GS designs.
I like GS, but I need a break from hearing the dial being something from a scene in nature. None of the dials look like a mountain lake or a forest. It is all bs. Enough already.
it maybe the best black dial watch you can buy, if you like the GS aesthetic. Frankly, I don't. I can admire it for what it is. but buy one? no.. not for me.
I would say it depends on your collection and what you wear normally ---- the difference here is just if white or black is better for your collection. I would not say one is better then the other even with the large difference in price!
A year late and here I am. Traded in my sbga413 for this one. Think it was a good decision, other than the extra cost😂 Wore this to dinner with my son the other day. He wore the sarx055 I gave him. Really popped on his wrist. Amazing watch for the money. The black birch is an understated watch. Elegant, but not showy. Kind of for your own enjoyment, not for others. Very happy with the birch. Just need places to wear it😊
Perfect companion to your Snowflake. And bagging a Thai exclusive is pretty slick, but also picking up in--country? What a great memory.
It was great, and perfect since we went to 9 temples and it is named after the giant that guards the temple! I'll be saving up for this one!
Nice one! I’ve the tried the white birch and spring drive version but I haven’t seen the black in person yet… On my wrist right now is the Grand Seiko Sea of Clouds… 🌟
Come check out the black one in person! Love the Sea of Clouds!

Absolutely love this piece, it would compliment the White Birch SD very nicely!
It absolutely would! We have one in stock if you want it!
I’ll wait a year or 2 for the spring drive version like they did with the white
Time shall tell!
The dials are noticeably different from the hibeat to the spring drive birch. The hibeat in my opinion is much nicer of a dial.

Well what about the Night birch? It definitely will be a nice match, I'm looking forward to picking this up sometime this year!

Oh wow, love this! I just got a Brew Metric Retro and am wearing that.
Nice! Thanks for sharing!
Very nice, Chris. I'm drawn more to Shirakaba. That titanium is nice but the premium for it is a bit steep!
Chris, would you go for this or the spring drive white birch if you didn’t have the snowflake?
I would go for the Night Birch, because the titanium is really important to me --- it just makes it so much more wearable daily IMO.
Ah nice GS manages to squeeze a flush clasp design in under the margins, at some point somewhere between their $2k and $10k models.
Very odd, I never got a note on the Bremont watch review, maybe a RUclips issue. Nice review with good detail, I always have a weakness for titanium. I like the increased accuracy. Wearing my Tissot perpetual calendar today.
I think the Bremont may have not alerted people since it was scheduled way far out due to my vacation. The Night Birch is here for you if you want it!
Just wanted to confirm; no micro adjustment on the bracelet Chris? Pretty close to perfection otherwise!
No micro adjust, but shouldn't really need to play with micro adjusts here if it is sized correctly since it is a very light bracelet.
Love your reviews. I always feel you're a real guy not some contrived image. Genuine watch fan too. I can rely on what you say.

Super luck you are, having that Seiko Yak Wat Chang Thailand Limited edition. Even Thais could be really not to get it on the first date of release.
Lucky indeed! I have a good connection over there!

This would look so good next to my sbga211 and my grand Seiko quartz GMT
The green birch is also sweet. 🥰
Stay tuned next week for a birch comparison video which will include the Green Birch!
@@Littletreasury 🥰
wen slga015? thx :)
That will absolutely be on the channel, don't worry! Wen I don't know though lol.

Indeed they do! But mainly because they have a Seiko division in Thailand. Thanks for sharing!

@Little Treasury Jewelers really?? Eventho the black birch look so much better? It doesn't have smooth sec hand like snowflake tho
