As a foreman for a concrete forming company it gives me a renewed energy when you can find a good young man that is willing to work.
The kid doesn't seem to be afraid to work.
It's unusual nowadays. Honor to him.
Did good today
Good one D P. Your skid steer skills are perfecting daily. Thanks for all your efforts.
That floor came out pretty good. That's a nice looking Barn. Hope to see you again on this project.
I wish I lived closer ,,i would love to work for you . You seem like a good boss to work for ...keep up the good work and keep the vidgets coming!!
This is great work! Love it!
Congrats !! One thing I've noticed is that your trucks SOUND like trucks. Sweet !!
First time I used a compactor I held it like you do but my hand swelled up twice my size the gentleman laughed at me and told me to put my h and under the handle and let it rest in my hand. Great advice.
That compactor sounds like me. I'm old, worn out, cold natured, temperamental, and I definitely use more oil than I do gas. On the bright side, I do still work (sometimes). Lol. Stay safe.
No matter how many times I spread crushed limestone rock, I’m amazed at how well it works in and compacts. My daughter lived in Virginia. There they top surfaced with crushed granite. I don’t know if it was washed or screened, but it didn’t compact near as well. But, it didn’t breakdown with traffic either.
Glad you found a bad weather job. Seems to me that every time I tuck one away for a rainy day I end up having to do it when it ain’t raining!
Great video very helpful for me. Much appreciated.
The young fella did well!
job got done ... nobody hurt ... success!
Thanks Mike for the quick turn on my tshirt and throwing in the decal, love the channel.
Your welcome and thanks for watching buddy
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and adventures. May be wet and rainy but it sure is a nice view from that property you were working at. Always amazed at how easy you make the work look to do. True sign of experience multiplied by a caring attitude. I remember seeing on a popup add once a valve that could be added to equipment to make the bucket vibrate to help with spreading, always wondered if it was actually worth the cost for something like that since you do a pretty good job with your hand on the controls. That and I’d think it might stress and beat up the machine. Stay safe and warm, wishing you and your family the best.
Nice work as always Dirt Perfect
That lane held up very nice!!
Great video - I only watched the first one where you were grading yesterday, so good to see it now the barn is up. Sure is a beautiful area you are in!
Thanks and good timing
Thanks for the explanation about #73 rock. That really helps.
Nice work. I don't think I could ever do that.
Thanks roger
Good video again the gravel truck sound good to look like you. Have a good good worker helping you out my friend be safe
Love it," she use about the same amount of oil as it does gas"
Those Honda little engines go and go. My dad Honda engine on our dam pump is about 30 years old and still starts 1st go every time.
Great job Mike looks like it turned out 👍💪.
Thanks
After working 331/2 yrs. at St.Louis , Missouri water works we found that bungee cords work quite well at keeping those tools kept in the pvc pipe from sliding out as you go down the road .
Yes need to get a few
Hard work, ya'll. Good job.
Nothing wrong with a little hump every now and again! :-)
Good going Mike, that was a beautiful finish! :-)
Stay safe! :-)
Good job Mike ! 😎
Try pouring going forward and then back dragging! Works well for me!
Another job well done and repeat business. Possibly more. Agreed, Very nice view. No problem with flooding up there on the hill.
Thanks and no sir
I'm not doing myself ANY favours mentioning this but here goes.
I happened to say that where i live we hadn't had any rain for 6 weeks, just 1 day in that time.....
Following day evening time it started raining and didn't stop until nearly a whole day later.
The forecast for the next 3 days is rain.
Sometimes? I really should keep my mouth shut lol
Keep the videos rolling, stay safe and all the best
Don't worry Ricky we have only had 2 inches of rain in the last 2 Months here in Gulfport, Mississippi we are over 16 inches short for the last 2 months.
Sounds like the forecast here in Central Ontario.
@@SledgeHammer43 shussssshhh it will all come in one go like it did here lol
We had over a months worth of rain in the first 12 hours and we are looking good to get another 2 big weather patterns of equal size out of the following 3 days.
All or nothing i guess lol
Don Hanson its been coming up here to East TN. We now have had over 24” for the first 4 months of the year. I think its close to setting an all time record for rainfall this early. I only got potatoes planted today, because its been raining every three days. Cant get dry enough to plant. Then we got a downpour and its still raining.
Job looks good.
Them packers are fun to run I've run few of them in my time doing paving
Great job Mike !! Is it ok to say. , Another Perfect Job ??? Lol. Keep those vidjas coming !!
Hi Mr dirt perfect. I haven't picked on you in awhile. Have to say you did a OK job. At least this guy works better then captain. Great video
“I don’t know if y’all can read that number up there.........right on the money.” LOl!!!🤣
Travis Pace he’s right on the money unless officer Hoover is watching.😂😂
Ya I saw that for a spit second. Lol
first thing i caught....lol. poopy day old friend, poopy day!!
mike, you gain a little weight???
Add lime and concrete's done. Nice looking job there Mike.
Thanks
Looks like that auction buy did a great job 👍
Pad looks good speed up the video was awesome
Great video have a great day and stay safe 👍
Thanks Greg
The habor freight predator motor is a great replacement for the compacter picked mine up for my log splitter for hundred dollars just a idea. Looks good but I think the scale ⚖ was a dirt perfect right on load been there done that lol. Keep up the great videos
Thanks
My dad put one on an old rear tine tiller a few years ago and continues to be impressed.
Glad that u like ur pickup truck. That 6.0 is a good engine.
Yup so far so good
Nice.
Happy Birthday Mike..... 🎂🍕
Love your videos, I watch each one when they come up
I also like Let's dig 18 videos too.👍👍😁😁
Thanks terry
Little guy covering his face over the scale weight screen was officer hoover 😂
Yes that went from 'We are looking for something under 4800' to way over 4900 and Mike saying 'Right on the money'! 🤣 Officer Hoover surely follows this channel, so we can expect Mike to get a wee ticking off when next they meet.
those rakes always going flying
Perfect 👍
Thanks
Tried to keep this clean since this is a family channel......you’re a lucky man to have a gas powered “wacker”, every mans dream 😂😂
enjoyed it again sir, i see that concrete man in you, screeding that sucker numerous times. lol, i love them honda engines too! i'm finally getting everything that im running to hondas and they'll run forever! and finally, the only i dont like about the 6.0's that have run, and its a bunch, they have never met a gas station they didnt like! about 8 mpg is all i've ever gotten!!!!! I'm off to get my glow treatment for today! stay safe sir!!!!!!
I think I have your plate tampers twin brother . Old smoky . But gets the job done. Great job on the self leveling.
Lol 😂
looks good boss
Thanks
The engine sound from the small truck has a raw reverberation.
Best way to grade with a skid steer in my opinion is with your edge straight down using it almost as you would a dozer. Flat bucket the final back drag to help compact and slick it up
That’s rally hard on the machine and bucket
If that's how you feel I would get a quick attach I beam or something that hangs just a few inches below the pins.
good video
Thanks
Watching this video gave me an idea if they can have lawn mower races maybe somebody should develop compactor races dirt perfect for the win!😂👍🏁🏁🏆🇺🇸
Lol
While watching you back up that driveway I had a thought. It would be cool if you put one camera on each mirror, facing backwards, then did a split screen in the video. Then the viewers see exactly what you see while you're backing up. Might be a good experience for anybody who hasn't backed up a truck that doesn't have a rear-view mirror.
Nice
Thanks
Funny but I have had a vibratory roller across the street from my house that the genius operator has been warming up with the vibrator on all mourning long ! Some peoples kids I swear ! Hope your having a great day too DP !
Lol
Smooooth.
😁
Hi Mike Nice job 👍 poor kid first day and doesn't get to run power equipment --> plate tamper lol. As you know adding a transmission cooler isn't a big job . If that was a service truck new I wonder what torque converter it has in it..Lol Sorry apparently I think out loud with my fingers 😂 oh I thought that was a cool ceiling in the barn. Anyway stay safe 😷. Oh again thanks for ALWAYS taking the time to explain/ giving extra info ! That truly separates you for alot of the rest buddy 👍 🇨🇦 Craig
Thanks for watching buddy and appreciate the feedback
It looks great. How does the sizing of the rock get figured?
Thanks aka this is what the contractor asked for
Thank you for not attaching camera to compactor))))))
Thx for video!
Lol 👍
Those Honda's are just cold blooded on start up. I always need to let them warm up, but they run forever.
was that a back up mirror on your window what were they thinking
Watching you reverse into that driveway at 5:00 reminds me of something that happened here last week. My wife Chris was weeding in the front garden leaning over with a ton of cleavage on show, and the neighbour across the road rolled up in his truck and made to reverse into his drive. Well I don't know if he was distracted by Chris, but he backed into his post box and knocked it off. 🤣 🤣 🤣 I shouldn't laugh, but he had been taking scant notice of our covid lock down, so I don't feel too bad about it. So is the new lad going to be your version of Chris Guin's Tim Tuoni? He's going to need a catchy name, and we don't know enough about him to suggest one yet.
What motor does your dump truck have in it, it sounds great.
Cat c7
I wish you serviced southern IL as I'd hire you!
Appreciate that
A cb is very handy for being in the quarry’s and they are cheap
Yup just need to get one
Don’t forget the antenna. Tends to help. Plus get a few extras for incidents involving trees. 😂
Really hoping when you got there before you moved the camera to show the load in the bed looking back - really hoping you uncovered it right then for the purpose of showing the aggregate instead of the cover and you weren't driving around like that uncovered lol.
Send your compactor to Mustie1 and let him rebuild it for you. It might be a lawnmower when you get it back, though.
yes that guy works on stuff and he is good
Musty will get a buckboard powered by gas
Scale was off a little. Needs calibrated 😎
It's official. DP is a skid steer guy. The advertisers are running attachment ads and your skills are improving. I tried to get Hyundai to find a nice loaner for you, but no bites. Maybe you can work on that? Lol Nice job once again Mike. Cheers!
Keith L
I guess you missed a few videos since Mike has had a Hyundai loaner for a couple of weeks now.
@@Crewsy That's correct Wayne, DP did get a loaner excavator. I was referring to Hyundai getting DP a skid steer loaner. Sorry if I was unclear.
Does Officer Hoover allow a little extra weight for wet stone?
Lol no I wish
We’re looking at buying a new equipment trailer for ourselves to move our mini and skid steer around. What are your thoughts and complaints about your tilt trailer, changes, brands.. etc? I’m looking pretty hot and heavy at an 8” cannel 18’ from PJ right now. We have a gooseneck from them and it’s just Cadillac! Lol
Love me conn pro would. Not change much look if the bed tilts in the fenders are with the fenders my Equiment would not fit in most brand trailers
What exactly is the difference between 73s and 53s and why do you prefer one over the other? Nice video as always. These rainy, dreary southern Indiana spring days are dragging me down too and making it hard to work. You’ve got it exactly right about it being hard to find good help!
Size of the rock and 73s easier to work with
Dirt Perfect ahh. If they’re easier to work with maybe I’ll try using 73s as opposed to 53s
It is a spring, similar to autumn.
Lol no
I would like to use compacted gravel for my 20x30' pole barn floor since I can't afford concrete yet, what size/type of gravel do you suggest? I want to use my pole barn as a shop. Do you suggest putting some sort of plastic under the gravel?
I would use what we call 73s
It's purdy. Your new young man seems to be a good worker. A little shy at this point maybe but yall are still getting used to each other. Once he gets used to the crackpots you run with, he will fit in.
I know this is an older video , on your level. , put a couple pins. , use them to catch grade and get a roll of duct tape for captain to keep the mirror in place
Seat time
Why did it need to be compacted? The last video you poured concrete you didn't compact it. Is it better to compact it or are there times it is necessary to compact? Thanks for the video. Always love your videos.
All depends on the job materials and sub grade
I see that you're using a DOT approved gas can for the gas compactor! LOL! But since you own the gas station where you fuel up there's no issues.
If you have not added a rubber strap to hold your Drag Back tools yet, then I'll suggest that.
Attach one end permanent to a pipe , then an eye bolt to another pipe.
Trust me it works.
Yup think is going to be a must
Mowing the gravel! lol
😁
What happened to the new guy at the end of the video he just vanished ? Wow a crank down window thought they were a dinosaur LOL.
If they dont put anythi g really heavy kn that it probably wont need to be concreted. It looks pretty solid now
How can it be wore out? It's doing the job, Right? Can't be wore out if it works.
Just going to guess that based on how well Nolan did on this job you won’t hesitate to call on him again in the future.
Unfortunately it is all to common to have young people that don’t want to do any physical work or if you can get them to help they do more work with their thumbs on their phones than anything productive.
Is every warning light on on the truck?
No
As long as the truck can stop the load you are towing that's all that matters
What material is that or what type of sand/stone mix?
What we call 73s
It’s been dark there for a few weeks? You above the Arctic circle?
No southern Indiana
👍
Concrete guys should be buying you a beer......
😁
Can't believe your little dump truck weighs that much. I have a international 2674 Quad Axle with a N14 Cummins, 56,000 pound rears on Dayton wheels and it weighs 25,500
Yup it’s heavy
What drone are you using?
DJI maverick air love it
what areas do you service?
Southern Indiana
Why does it have to be near perfect if the concrete is going over it? The concrete will fill the high/low areas within 1/2" or so, correct? Actually curious, not challenging your methods. Your attention to detail is commendable.
Rock is cheeper then concrete and thanks
2019 - I dont like skid steers....not good at using them...blah blah blah
2020 - bought a skid steer, grader blade, and look at me go use it on all my jobs...
really surprised you didn't use the grader blade. Those stripes in the first compaction were not straight....i was totally expecting some crazy design that said "dirt perfect" when using that compactor.
Definitely got your money's worth out of the compactor. What brand is the building, do you know? I'm looking to get one built.
Yes and built by some local guys
@@DirtPerfect Thanks for the response. I'm assuming most are about the same when it comes to the post frame buildings?
I am going to be honest with you. You are a dam good operator even with that skid steer, but we love to give you shit. Just like I am now but that gravel sure doesn't look like Concrete slab to me Mike. Lol
Over the years I have gained 3 step ladders from contractor utility beds.
😁
