When I flew on this 2006 the people started to get overhead luggage around 500ft before landing 🤣🤣
As an individual with love for travelling on aircrafts all year but not enough funds for it, I thank you for the wonderful experience that brings me just a bit closer to the real deal ❤️
Yeah I wish I had enough time and money to travel like Noel ✈️🧳
Glad you enjoyed it!
Aircrafts🤣
The plural of aircraft is aircraft.
If you like boiled eggs; you’ll love Qantas domestic lounges. Personally, I’ve always wondered who on earth picks up a boiled egg… but now I know.
Bit disappointed that you have stopped showing us a little bit of the places you visit. It's what set you apart from the rest.
Yes, I too would like a little more from Noel when he is staying in a place, but perhaps he’s knackered after doing his airport, airline review, but the little insight into where your staying would be nice, asking kindly here Noel. 😂👍
I flew that route three years ago with Jetstar Pacific. It was supposed to leave at 8 pm, but kept getting delayed. In the end I managed to get onto an 'earlier' flight that left at one in the morning by going to the boarding gate and talking to an agent who wrote out a boarding pass for my by hand. I was quite surprised when they actually let me on. I got to Saigon at two in the morning. On the plus side, they gave me a voucher for a perfectly decent pho at Da Nang, and the flight itself was very inexpensive.
Have you tried Bamboo ?
let's just say, Vietnam Airlines kinda bought out Jetstar Pacific and turned it to this
Betcha you were there in the 60s or 70s.
My favourite part of this video was Noel peeling an egg to reveal a mini him
The bad boy of aviation
Cannibalism!
We travel vicariously through you, Noel. Thanks for sharing and continued safe travels. ✈️
Awesome! Thank you!
Yes, airports in Vietnam tend to do this with the boarding gates. I sense that this confusion is a risk that one takes when flying low cost. I hope that your connection was a smooth one. Thank you for sharing this video!
Thanks for watching.
I went to Vietnam in 1987 via manilla no non stop US flights
Unspoilt no Tourists ..great value and Real ..
Flying over Vietnam and seeing the scenery has made me really want to go back there and explore as I was only a child when I was last there like 28 years ago!
at least it was not in 1968 LOL
You should, a wonderful countrry, friendly helpful people and easy enough to find local folks who speak some/good English. Flight delays and comlicationshappen in all countries whether budget or full fare airlines.
I've worked in many locations in Vn (my base is Bangkok in Thailand) and in more recent years used budget airlines many times. A few delays but nothing disastrous, and the airline staff went out of their way to get the situation fixed as soon as possible.
I like the new format, Noel! It's very very professional.
Also "how long do you have" was a hilarious bit.
It might be a bit late now, but if anyone is wondering: for 5:46 a more correct translation for "chua co thong bao" (actually: chưa có thông báo) would be "no announcement yet" or "no information yet".
I want a Noel Philips Merch t-shirt that has an image of you and "well, Nevermind" written beneath :)
Great video as always - loved this one!
Thank you for sharing there in Vietnam on the beach!!! Wow!! That looks great!!!!
My pleasure!
@@noelphilips You fly safe getting home...
“It’s all a bit Hanoi-ing really” that’s a good one 😂
Fingers crossed you made the connection. Travel safe Noel!!
Fun fact for you is that the airport code for Ho Chi Minh is still SGN which is for Saigon
Not unusual. The code for Krungthep Maha Nakhon is still BKK. :) And from what I've heard, it seems that even in Ho Chi Minh the city is widely referred to as Saigon.
My goodness, but that scenery! Gorgeous😍
It really is!
@@noelphilips 😍😍😍 glad I got to see it!
Noel cracks me up with the number of times he mentions where he's going where he is currently and the airline and type.🤣
It’s like a broken record!
Great vlog as always! Let us hope you make the flight. Keep up the good work! Be safe!
Thank you! Will do!
Great video and great memories to good old Da Nang back to 1996, in and out with VN YAK-40 and TU-134...
RUN Noel! 😁 Cant wait to see if you made your connection. 👍
Great video as always Noel. Good luck with the connection! Stay safe✈
Thanks! Will do!
I have a 2 hour connection in Hanoi to Ho chi min next week. Hope it’s not a problem. Nice review
I hope so too! Have a great trip.
Love the chiefs shirt Noel!
Safe travels. Take a deep breath. You’ll make it. Thanks for this vlog. Ciao.
Thank you!
@@noelphilips you’re welcome. 👍🏼
I love Vietnam coffee! The Vietnam people are so nice and accommodating.
Can we all note Noel's admirable efforts to eat much healthier? Good work buddy!
I’m looking forward to see if you make your connection! It’s an awful feeling trying to make it to the gate on time .
Noel loves teasing us!
My brother Noel is hilarious…. “Hannoying “ 😂 also this is why I never check luggage in. I go with one carryon and a backpack. It’s enough for me during my travels. If I’m staying someplace long it’s still enough. I’ll just do laundry wherever I may be. I’ve only experienced a lost bag once…. ONCE 😂. Also it defeats delays as well. So I’m flexible and agile. 👊🏾. Another great video in a beautiful location!
Brother?
@@s125ish figure of speech. I call most people brother or sister when I’m referring to them….
How did you lose a carryon bag? I have flown about 150 times in my life, always with a minimum of one checked bag as my backpack is filled to the brim with camera geear. I used the checked bag for my tri-pods instead of trying to lash them to the backpack. I only had my luggage, actually my wife and I coming home from Christmas as her sisters, miss our flight one time. Delta paid to have our luggage driven from Nashville to Huntsville instead of just putting it on a flight straight into Huntsville. Plus they gave us a $100 ticket voucher, which we used to cover the higher ticket prices out of Huntsville over Nashville.
I love your content! Cheers from Norway!
Thank you!
Great video Noel, hope you are all settling in well in the USA
Yes, we are, thanks!
@8:28 nice turning departure around Monkey Mntn. I had a teacher from Jr High School who was RADAR operator on that mntn during the war. He worked early C-5 and even SR-71 flights back in the late 60's and early 70's.
Thank You.
Should be retitled " how many times can Noel say Ho Chi Minh " in 13 minutes 😅
Thanks for taking us aviation enthusiasts along for a walk and flight Thanks Noel
Glad you enjoyed it.
Oh wow, I suppose the race is on. Fascinating experience though Noel.
Ive always enjoyed your videos Noel
I appreciate that!
Thanks for the review of the low cost. Hope you make your flight. I missed the Lu review. I love your videos looking forward to the next one
Thanks for watching!
I flew with Jetstar from Adelaide in South Australia some years ago. We had two changes of gates from the original assigned gate at the airport. Each one was about as far apart from the other as you could get!
Great video Noel
Glad you enjoyed it.
Nice one Noel. Funny that our latest video was flying into SGN as well. In RUclips time we nearly crossed paths 🙃
I challenged myself to take a shot every time Noel said Ho Chi Mihn. Anyway, they say I should be out of ICU by tomorrow.
Noel, welcome to Vietnam! 🇻🇳
We toured Vietnam about 3 years ago, great experience, loved the place and the people. Best bit of advise I read on tripadvisor was to use only Vietnam Airlines for internal flights, would be a few quid more but much more reliable. All x4 flights left on time without any problem, for a total of around £250 each.
Thanks for sharing!
I just recently flew Southwest Airlines from St. Louis to Los Angeles. Needless to say, it resembled your flight in this video. And it included a series of delays that led to us taking off four hours late.
Great video once again.
I appreciate that.
@@noelphilips You're welcome.
Thanks for this vlog. Safe travel. Ciao
My pleasure!
@@noelphilips 👍🏼
Vietnam does look beautiful really! But I do hope to see you explore more of the Philippines in the future from our bustling city of Manila to our beautiful beaches and especially in our provinces! So I do hope that could be part of your next set of Southeast Asia adventures too!
Pinoy need to learn about condom.
Fr dude more southeast asia he does alot of thailand lets go to these other countries
Hanoi..ing - haha, quality joke in their Noel ;-)
Great video as always - waiting to see if you managed to make the connecting flight!
After looking at HCM departure board after this video, I am surprised you didn’t stay and fly on all those other interesting smaller carriers over there.
I like the video so much Noel it is a good video
Awesome shirt Noel!!!
Thanks!!
Thank you for your honest opinions about these airlines. It is a true miracle that they are still flying and not all crash in the jungle somewhere. Of course you get what you pay for.....
1:10 Pacific Airlines are not only a codeshare airline with Vietnam Airlines, they are actually their low cost subsidiary! Just like how Scoot is to SQ and Jetstar is to Qantas.
Loved watching your videos. My wife and I experienced the same thing you had a long time ago. Our flight was delayed a bit, and we had a connection flight. When we arrived at our destination, we only had less then 1/2 for our next flight and our gate was in a different terminal. We ran and made in time. Don't want to experience that again so every time I book a flight that has a connection, I'd be sure it's more than 2 hours. Don't care how much it is. By, the way, have you mentioned your latest equipment? I like to know.
Very nice. Thank you.
Thank you!
Vietnam sounds like an experience!
Great video as always! LMAO the seatmate in the E seat posing for the cam at 9:20 lol
Glad you enjoyed it.
Always love the hum of those Rolls Royce engines especially on takeoff
Flew the route about 3 weeks ago on Vietjet just after the typhoon. Surprised to be sat in front of the curtain on a budget flight.. Bamboo from SGN up to HAN on the 787 was a pleasant experience in Biz.
Oiiii welcome to Vietnam - from your long time follower
I always love guessing where your end destination is, this week I guessed it right! Singapore!
Aaaargh ! I wasn't expecting the ending to this one... always leave 'em wanting more, eh ? Now i need to watch the next one ! :D
When I first saw the plane I certainly thought it looked like Jetstar colours, and then you confirmed!
Another banger, I really enjoyed the review of a unique low cost airline in Vietnam
Thanks a ton!
@@noelphilips I certainly felt the tension going on with you trying to make your tight connection lol
Rocking that KC Chiefs shirt!
Not been to Vietnam jet.Great work
I flew this route from Da Nang to Saigon on Vietjet and it was delayed by 3 hrs. Looking on flight radar, the same flight had been delayed by 3hrs everyday that week, just push the schedule departure time back if that's the case!
seeing Vietjet Air in this video kinda reminds me of Thai Vietjet Air that I flew earlier this year, some of the planes still have the WOW air livery on it, and they only slapped the “Vietjet” on the tail to distinguish it
.
And in case you’re wondering, yes they also contain purple-themed cabin, charger ports, and even a device holder. Which cannot be found on a non WOW air, Thai Vietjet livery plane
Bit of drama always helps the content Noel 👍
‘How long do you have?’ Took me out 🤣🤣🤣
How interesting that they just kept the Jetstar config and painted over the Jetstar logos (not even in the right colour) with the new Pacific logo
Oh, this is going to be a good one
Thanks for watching.
I flew this route with Viet Jet Air back in 2018. The flight was pretty cramped and basic, but otherwise not too bad. Not that it’s that long a flight.
I was in vietnam a month ago and also took three domestic flights! Hanoi to Da Nang + back, then Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh before we left back to London :) Booked through Vietnam Airlines and had Pacific Airlines for the Hanoi to Da Nang flight.
Everything was very easy and quick for us to be honest. No chaos or confusion. Even when our flight was on national day, it was very calm. Our flight from Da Nang to Hanoi was delayed by 50 minutes, but it was quite clear and obvious. Even to us, a small group of 18 year olds going through airports for the first time alone! So I'm surprised you had trouble with the domestic flights in Vietnam because ours was all smooth sailing!
The only slight confusion we had was from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh where we were told we had to pick up our bags at Ho Chi Minh and then check them in again in the international terminal for our flight to London. I got a phone call from the same person that checked in my bags and right before we boarded the first plane he told us that actually, we didn't need to pick up our bags and it would all be done for us. So we went straight through to the international terminal in Hoi Chi Minh, not worrying about our bags... And they did infact show up in London :)
My last flight from Vietnam was Hanoi to Vientiane, Laos on a Lao Airlines A320 that was originally to be delivered to Air Afriqiyah who selected BRIGHT GREEN seats brand new. Lao got a good deal on the pair of jets, no need to change the seats and thankfully they have a touch of green in their logo. You MUST visit Laos in this part of the world. Maybe that's after Singapore!
You should vlog your mini trips when and wherever you go be a good watch
Holy cow!! KC Chiefs shirt! That’s my team! I live here in Missouri, grew up a Chiefs fan! Noah, you surprise me every video!! Hehehe
Go NINERS!
I recommend Vietravel airlines next time, they are only slightly more expensive (sometimes not even by a dollar worth) han low cost carriers, but they offer complimentary water and nuts/dried fruits... some of their seats are held together by ducktape though
I've flown with some dodgy airlines before but that looks like a nightmare.
My Uncle was stationed there during the Vietnam war. He was a Navy Seabee.
I recommend you try the reunification express train from da nang to hanoi one day, would be great to see
I flew from Bangkok back to Newcastle on Friday with emirates, connection In Dubai and was saying to my fella, I wish I could bump into one of my you tubers like Noel while im at the airport!
I kept an eye out just in case 😂
Ps..I’m a very nervous flyer, I watch your videos to help the anxiety 😊
When I was in Vietnam in 2017, I used Vietnam Airlines for internal flights instead of the low-cost carriers. Apparently, air traffic control gives priority to the flag carrier, which is why so many low-cost flights are delayed. Also, VA was typically twice as expensive as it’s competitors, but was still very cheap by European standards.
Noel Philips is such a G.
Vietnam is nutty . Full of mopeds carrying weird and wonderful stuff. Seen live chickens trussed up by their legs and an upside down table with 6 chairs on the back. No safety concerns at all.
Went to an all you could eat buffet here but they only supplied you with one chopstick.
This looks a lot like my Easyjet flight from London Gatwick to Amsterdam. Except that on Easyjet I had to get my luggage tags at a kiosk, then stick them on my luggage myself, then find the conveyor belt to put my luggage. I also had to check my carry-on bag. No free soda on Easyjet like here. No reclining seats either.
In 1986 april 10th I flew to venice on British Airways Concorde from LHR.. best flight experience ive ever had.
GO ON NOEL MY SON!
I've had the same flight as this last year, must've missed you by a couple days/weeks!
Ps. If you're ever back in Da Nang, you should visit Hoi An, amazing old village/city
the only thing i disliked about this video was that it was too short, keep up the good work noel!
Bit Hanoing love it!!!
Hello Noel Philips i have been watching you for years and I love your videos I travel the world a lot myself and I was wondering if you could some day go on iceland air
Nice Chiefs T-Shirt.
Word of advice in Vietnam. Nearly all flights are delayed, canceled, or just disappear lol. Welcome to Saigon! Would love to buy ya a pint!
‘All a bit Hanoi-ing’ - had a tut and a head shake with that one 😂 (will use in future though)
6:10 this aircraft looks like it was just operated by Jetstar Pacific which is the reason for the weird livery, Jetstar Pacific was Pacific Airline's predecessor as you already explained at 6:40
Hi Noel...
So we wait in anticipation 😜.....
And waiting.... LoL 🤣
Something to look forward to 😉
😁
