I don't have a great interest in electric bikes but that was fun! Firstly, always great to have you posting stuff and secondly, you laughed more on this vid than any other! 😆
I purchased a 2023 CE 04 from Riverside BMW in California for $8900 for a demo version with 240 mile and Every available option and I Love it. Comfortable, fast, conversation piece and the Fast Charger is extremely useful.
Thanks for the city riding test! I think You didn’t mentioned on the video how many Kms a full charge was able to provide this ride like you’ve done, trying different modes of riding and how many hours you did with it until you had to recharge, can you complete the info about that ? ✌️✌️
I'm a big fan of EV's in general. I'm guessing a BMW e-bike would be out of my budget. I have an eMTB (electric mountain bike) and Surron Storm Bee (enduro). I love the torque and low-noise of them. Also, I live off-road in the mountains so a seriously off-road capable bike is essential. Nevertheless I do like scooters (rentals) when I travel.
Same weight and price as a GS here in 🇦🇺 but 100km range, 9kwh battery so doesn’t take long to charge but the c400 it replaces is $10k cheaper and has twice the range. Once the ohh it’s very quick novelty wares out because the battery 🪫 is always running out and it’s public roads with police not a race track
When pedestrians cross the road they use their eyes and ears. These E vehicles are going to kill a lot of pedestrians until they fit some type of speaker system on them.
I think, it doesn't. I have one and have ridden about 5500km in 2022. And I have had no serious issues with pedestrians. But, yes, You have to pay a little bit more attention than on a gas-bike...
@@Romiman1 I was being sarcastic. I bought a new VStrom 2 months ago and I have over 5500klm on it already. I usually travel over 30,000 klm per year. And 5,500 is not enough distance to do any type of study. Have you been riding around shopping centre carparks where there are many pedestrians? How fast do you travel through them because, as you may know, some people are irresponsible in the way they drive and just expect pedestrians to give way to them. If you don't know it yet, you should always drive so that the other road users are idiots out to kill you. I still stick with my original comment that these vehicles need to have some warning device to let others know they are coming. Petrol engines do that automatically.
@@gkm3838 OK, I haven't spot the sarcasm, because I'm not a native English speaker. ;-) Since been riding motorcycles since 1990 (incl. mopeds), I still think, I have enough experience to judge reactions from pedestrians. And 5500km on my CE 04 seems way more than Your experience with electric bikes. And of course this includes experience near shopping malls. Hey, the CE 04 is about urban riding! ;-) Being not completely quite, I'm still convinced, the CE 04 doesn't need any artifical sound.
Scooter... Electric... Giggling like a little girl... This seems very homo suspicious. You'll be forgiven the day you upload the video of the CL500 test.
250kilo ! How is even passible to buil so heavy bike, worst bike on the planet 100km/h range is what 30km with second person wont even move🤣🤣🤣🤣crap like all bmw electric cars!!!

Picked up one two days ago, and i love it
That happy laugh is perfect sales pitch for this type is scooter. Nice review.

Top scooter ❤
Cred că BMW a mai avut un scuter electric înaintea acestuia. Super video!
Yes. The C-evolution, built from 2014 to 2020. It even was heavier and more expensive than this CE 04.
Zombies walking out in front of you with mobile phones won't hear you either.
Practice the Roma method. Drive on the horn.
Wow that's a fast bike shame about the seat. O it looks odd to, how much does it cost to charge and buy ?
To buy about 13k€. And to charge 3-4€/100km. (Germany, January 2023).
When I saw the thumbnail and the 0-60 click bait, I thought you were referring to MPH, not kph...
What's range of this CE 04 in a full charge,?
Depends on how u drive it
Is it a hub motor? If it is that'll be why it's harsh. Huge amount of unsprung mass hanging out the back.
There is nothing in that rear wheel if that's what you mean.
@@LongWayHome yeah, that's what I meant.
The motor is mounted in front of the rear wheel and drives it by a belt.

Charge as in Teddy Roosevelt!
The display is very similar to their electric car the i3
CE 04's predecessor C-evolution used the same display as the i3. This display is shared with K1600 and R1200RT.

No, the C400 isn't replaced by the CE 04. You still can order a C400. In Europe the difference is about 4500€.

@@Romiman1 Wow. A whole 5,500 klm!
@@gkm3838 Yes, this is about the usual distance I ride in one year. (Since over 25 years.)

Hey, that's me. You do you.
13000 euro for a scooter.... they taking the piss?
It's a maxi-scooter. Which means something like a special motorcycle. For similar scooters like Yamaha TMax or Piaggio mp3 You have to pay the same.

Why did they have to make it look so ugly and not fit a decent seat
