There's a kind of tragedy to this fight. To Kieran, this is the most important and difficult fight of his life. With a proper team, you can so utterly mop the floor with him it borders on the comical. To him, you are this unsurmountable obstacle that he's been doing everything in his power to surpass since you first showed up in Kitakami. You've been living in his head rent free for weeks if not MONTHS. To you? He's just a bump in the road. Just another obstscle to eventually be surpassed. Another title of Champion to claim.
Yeah if you think about it...we are kinda like the bully in some sense, we are the ones who steals legendaries and keeps dethroning everyone, not to mention, we messed with literal time with Terapogos
@@Moonshine568 and also didn't help when Kieran had a mental breakdown when he lost his champion title and also stole his title of champion in his academy we are literally from a different academy yet we still took it
The best part of this fight is how personal it is; you are the sole motivation behind what this child has become, the extremes he’s pushed himself to in order to defeat you are staggering. Listen to Carmine, look at his room, all he thinks about is being the strongest and to get there he tears himself and everyone around him apart. He’s short and snippy to the people who are supposed to be his friends. Now you’re finally here and you’re just the wake up call he needs, Kieran wants to win but you *have* to win. If you don’t win he’ll be vindicated for everything he’s chosen on this path.
I think the worst part is if you hypothetically lost this fight it would have...very dire consequences for the story beyond the scope of even kierens mental state. He would use his victory to justify pushing others into tearing themselves apart. Because hey. Worked for him
@@doot7730 After Kieran crushed Florian, he maintains his status as the BB champion. But even Florian's defeat couldn't satisfy Kieran's bitterness over losing Ogerpon. Not even capturing Terapagos not long after, whose ensuing rampage left both his sister and Briar hospitalized and nearly dead; with Kieran even outright attacking Florian's Pokemon during the end part of the battle so that he couldn't take the legendary from him. So, he took a trip to Paldea and absolutely demolished the gym leaders, elite four and even Top Champion Geeta- far better than FLORIAN ever could. During this time, his Terapagos served as the main Pokemon on his team, overwhelming any opponent who dared stand in his way. @@monsoon1303 I would have Florian refuse to fight him, which would only make Kieran spiral further; and at _that_ point, he'd try to conquer the rest of Paldea and get his shit utterly destroyed by Nemona. I partly wish that Kieran ran on the same rules that we do. Using items, able to forfeit part way in, if he thinks he's going to get mopped (obviously he wouldn't do it when he's all blank-eyes, but the option could be there), friendship saves, a changing team based on what he knows we have. We already know he's got more than one set of pokemon he can exchange, from a conversation in the League Clubroom, but we hardly see them. IDK what they would be, but they'd be options, giving Kieran a bigger chance QUICK NOTE - I am not saying any of this for my own mental health, only to give Kieran a fair fight. When I went in blind in the Indigo Disk, I was almost MOPPED THE FLOOR WITH, only being saved by my Skeledirge, spamming PP-Maxed Torch Song, and then Flamethrower and Shadow Ball, based on resistances. And that was with a level 100 team. I'm extremely scared to think what would have happened if I stopped grinding even a single level earlier. What I'm saying is, this would truly make it a fight where either side has a roughly equal chance, or a totally unfair chance based on what one of them does. Because Kieran would be changing his team based on yours, bringing one to counteract one of his original weaknesses won't work, as he would have swapped it out for something that could have an advantage. ALTHOUGH, once enough people with enough variety pokemon challenge him, you'll learn what each of the Pokemon for each situation are (for instance, it's put on Bulbapedia), and puzzle out what you need to beat Kieran's team, such as using one strong pokemon to take on a pokemon one that's weak to it, and have that pokemon defend the first one.
Before Indigo Disk was out, I was fully on board with the toxic chain theory and expected the battle to have toxic spikes up at the start like that one bitch in SwSh DLC. Sadly, no, he was a fair fight. ... in fact, was easy because I've been into competitive ever since BW. For the first time, I KNEW what an NPC team was gonna do. And that's a MASSIVE shame, because every other rival has a starter that counters our starter, with Yellow going far enough to change Gary's Eevee based on how often you won/lost to him! It'd be *so easy* to have Kieran do the same thing because most players aren't willing to abandon their starters nor Ogerpon!
