I firmly believe that everyone is the most important person in *their* life. It's pretty great, especially as someone who has people-pleasing issues, because with that attitude you slowly learn to respect your own limits and prioritising the things that make you feel good (which might, of course, be helping others and being kind to them, obviously I'm not saying to be a self-obsessed asshat). Simultaneously it's a philosophy that promotes respect and understanding of others, because *they* are of course the most important person in *their* life. I'm never going to be upset about a friend cancelling plans because they need a mental health day, because of course they need to prioritise themselves.
