That moment after STL where baku thinks that soichi got back up (even though it was just anxiety) made me half-faint cuz i knew baku COULD NOT move any further.
If you guys love usogui,, please check out the other creators work. Batuque is just as amazing, and has the insane art as well with more insane fighting and sick characters.
I think the Author is just tryharding too much in making the fights super complicated with 4-5 layers of hidden stuff just to make the story look cool.
This Manga was amazing. It was so intelligently written, with the author's ability to foreshadow and write complex scenarios. Also the humour needs to be mentioned more. Marco being Marco gives me joy, he might be my favourite character. Tower of Karma arc was my favourite. I would give Usogui a 9.5/10. It would be a 10, but Baku isn't that complex or masterfully flawed Protagonist that I seek. Even then, I consider it to be a top 5 manga. Fata Morgana still negs, though.
I'm honestly surprised how much you liked the Battleship Arc. Most of the people I've seen on the internet rated it low (I really liked it btw). The first half for me was good/great. The beginning served as an introduction to what this manga is about and each arc gradually increased sakes and mind games. The second half was amazing, what else can I say lol. Also the choreography for fights was amazing, the art had the biggest change I've ever seen in manga.
Battleship was the first arc that had me actually hype because ToK was so fucking confusing and Hal was the first character who’s fighting I cared about
Bro I was going to comment that he needs to read the actual peak fiction manga that surpasses everything. Shit is way too underrated for how perfectly it is written
One thing I've learnt from reading usogui and jojo is that some manga age better with time, where early on, the series may be feel boring, lackluster or downright bad but as it keeps going it gets better and better to the point it might be called a masterpiece. I'm glad you eventually got to like the series masked man
Mentioning the Colombian neck tie, transported me to my childhood when was reading a book whose title I don't remember. I just remember how it was called and it has been decades since I heard that name. "Corte franela"
The more and more you explained this manga, the more it just sounded like if Yugioh season 0 had been what the rest of the series was instead of what we got, different games with different rules that were just vague enough to find loopholes and "cheat" rather than the clear rules of Duel Monsters that we got with the actual show proper, and if Yugi was just Yami the entire time instead of switching back and forth. Just a parallel I couldn't help but draw in my brain
Its been a long time coming. You finally talking about one of the best manga out there hopefully now more people will check this series out and stick with it to see why its one of the greatest seinen series out there.
@@zayedalif1791I will say read it from the start. Its worth it. Unless you do, the character development of basically every character except Baku will feel irrelevant

I'm just so grateful that i got to read this whole series with no spoilers (expect for one character's death) and only going into the series knowing that it was going to be about gambling and i wouldn't want that any other way
Regarding the gambing theme, I really suggest reading Liar Game, Tomadachi game, Kakegurui and mangas made by Nobuyuki Fukumoto(Gambling Apocalypse: Kaiji and Gambling Emperor Legend Zero)
Liar game is garbage. Kakegurui is garbage AND with terrible drawing Tomodachi game is nothing but teenage plays.. no gamble with decent stakes. Any mangas happening in a school area tend to be garbage anyways.
9:38 it's dumb to consider it protoporos by this logic surpassing the leader is also protoporos... It (both AP and STL) was officially said to be a standalone arc
So glad this video was made, I kept posting about it on the subreddit to hype it up. I'm actually pleasantly surprised you brought up how cancerous the fandom is though with their powerscaling "my dad is stronger than your dad" and stupid elitism. Thats the reason why I want this fandom to grow, to turn the loud ass children into a minority

(edited cuz how could I just forget how beautiful and amazing art was to loot at.craziest part is the amount of work the author puts in every single chapter yet kept it weakly and even ma,naged to have the time to learn martial arts😄the author is just built different.) to be honest I'm genuinely amazed that you dropped usogui at the beggining(even tho everyone has their own taste, they might not like mind games and other stuff, even though I don't really liking fighting I cna say I enjoyed usogui fights)and I don't agree with you about baku's favorite line it just never gets boring.to me absolutely every arc where usogui showcased his wits was absolutely amazing and ofc that includes labyrinth arc.but there's a BIG DIFFERENCE between us because you've read it through recomendations and I found it myself, you had your own expectations from the start when I never had it and it just kept surpassing my excpectations from arc to arc.that about expectations I was so hyped for johan's character but when I watched it for the first time, nothing, literally nothing I was amazed people even liked his character(I understood why people liked it after rewatching)that happened with aizen too so expectations might cause someone to not like soemthing which he might've liked if he read it without recomendations form the fandom,I'm currently re-reading it and I'm enjoying it more than I did before what can I say usogui is heavily underrated and not known widely.and so nicne of you tov mentioning monster part the way the fiction inside fiction tells whole story short, that details was awesome to see.thanks for making video about my favorite manga
Greatest of all time. Zenith of the medium. Hallmark of media. Gold standard of storytelling. Apogee of creativity. Vertex of invention. Crest of ingenuity. Acme of imagination. Pinnacle of innovation. Epic of epics. Legend among legends. Peak fiction. One above all, peak creation, lonely at the summit, goats above goats, grandiose masterpiece, impeccable perfection, too exquisite to exist, unbelievably marvelous creation, spectacularly bewildering and stupendous imagination, work of god. Groundbreaking and foundational, his sense of development is a deconstruction of employment segregation and the powerful performances are truly comprehensive of their poignant themes while the nuance in the direction complements a layered screenplay. Pure elegant, exquisite, endeavour. I can't put my finger on what's wrong because there isn't anything, masterful character-making from a masterful person. Top of the decade. Top of the century. Top of my life.
You should really read the Manhua called "Ravages of Time". Its drawn like a manga. It focuses on one of the most brutal eras in history, the three kingdoms era. The art is fantastic, the mind games and schemes are as complex if not more complex than Usogui's. The storytelling is out of this world and i really like how many things it features. It features social commentary, profound philosophizing, warfare, ancient classical poetry and a lot more. One of my favorite things about it is that unlike a lot of war forced works is that it's not overly brutal or edgy. I gotta admit, the beginning is very heavy, and has mediocre art and translation, but it gets very good very quickly. I highly recommend it. 🙏
The start of the manga can vary for different people. For me, I enjoyed how things were at the start and how Baku was already established as this demonic gambler god who never loses. While that would make it boring that he always wins, it was still incredibly interesting to read how he won. Furthermore, I liked that the start was slow, it got me invested and got me liking it more and more. For one, the reason why I liked the slow start, was that it made sense as to how Baku's grand plan would take time to truly play out. So first 200 chapters basically preparing the reader for what is about to come was an excellent idea. I will say, that doesn't mean that the beginning parts of the manga are perfect, since for some people it can be quite boring or repetitive, but overall, as you said in the video, it all paid off for the end. Usogui is the best manga I have read so far. I'm not gonna say it is peak fiction and beats every other series, but for me, it is nr 1. Cuz, I feel like people now have begun to think that their opinions are objective rather than subjective. So when someone says that they like a series more because of reasons they find the series interesting, others will say that it is wrong because they like their series more and since the majority likes one series more, doesn't make it an objective fact. (Wow I wrote alot) Anyway, great video, really enjoyed it. 👍
I am actually an Indian but personally I have never heard anybody mentioning this Manga so the fact that the majority of the people who like this Manga are Indians is a major surprise to me.
I agree , India is new to manga and mostly discussed manga are jjk,OPM,Naruto, demon slayer, one piece basically shonen. So what masked said that it is popular amoung us Indian is just not true.
we recently the hype of seinens are also on the high rise, specially of mangas like berserk, vagabond, vinland etc. As far as usogui is considered, most of the fandom I had interacted with were a bunch of hardcore delulu guys just bashing their opinion that Usogui basically peaks fiction which is pretty Indian fandom culture lol. @@kusumyadav6145
The live action adaption of Usogui is actually what got me interested in checking out the series. I wouldn't call it a good adaption, but it's a fun movie and the guy who plays Baku nails his character.
Very disheartening to hear that the Usogui fandom has gone down the path of toxicity, and it is further vindication of my stance that you should never engage with the wider fandom of any franchise. I discovered the series through JJBA in 2017, as Araki is good friends with Toshio, and it quickly cemented itself as of my all-time favourites. I also recommend checking out Toshio's other manga, Batuque which is about martial arts; mainly capoeira.
It hasn’t. This guy met like maybe 1 or 2 people who was bad and generalized it as the entire fandom is bad. The pinned comment where he’s just saying womp womp to someone saying not to generalize shows he’s doing this more to clickbait than anything

I'mma be honest, I used to be a somewhat annoying fan of this work since I consider it very underrated and I felt that any friend or person who recommended it to them was going to love it, but well, I realized that one of the reasons why people don't want to see is because of its long number of chapters. *Everyone can do what they want, but know that it really... is a hidden gem*

i dont know if im in the minority but liked also the first half of Usogui. The Television arc is probably my favourite with Surpassing the leader being the second. But honestly its all good as a whole.
I like the first half too. On the subreddit of this manga, people still like the first half from what I've seen. They like the second half better, but the first is still good.
I loved it as well! Labyrinth arc, KY, and that bull game were all great arcs imo
I started liking it at labyrinth arc. I really didn't like anything before
I loved the abandoned building arc

Ngl the tower of karma for me imo is the one who's lacking in the mind games part for me, but its still great
The most brilliant part was " losing the memory of that date" part, it's the reason everything else after was possible in the first place, it's like using the rules completely to your advantage with 20000 IQ

Honestly that’s the coolest thing I’ve ever heard an author do, truly sako toshio is the goat.😺
Thanks for shedding light unto this extremely underrated gem! A series that gets better with every reread, and there are tons of references to mytholgies and games of the past.
That moment after STL where baku thinks that soichi got back up (even though it was just anxiety) made me half-faint cuz i knew baku COULD NOT move any further.
"Don't look back" my favorite moment ever
Baku looked so hopeless when he bled from his nose and clutched his chest
Hello again Mr Liebert
If you guys love usogui,, please check out the other creators work.
Batuque is just as amazing, and has the insane art as well with more insane fighting and sick characters.
Batuque the best, The writing is no less than Usogui 🔥
I liked Batuque initially, but it really fell apart towards the end.
Usogui is so good that the author had to nerf his intelligence stats(Yet still won he hardest game in the series)
Baku has fabulous hair at the least
Usogui peak fiction‼🗣 Best story best characters. Gambling for life🔥🔥
You know, this manga is not for everyone, i did recommend it to my friends and etc . They actually didn't even understand
Not all good media will be enjoyed by everyone. People will have their own tastes.
I think the Author is just tryharding too much in making the fights super complicated with 4-5 layers of hidden stuff just to make the story look cool.
@@gutsglory3625?
The fights were fine to me.
But that logic could be used for every animanga fight
This Manga was amazing. It was so intelligently written, with the author's ability to foreshadow and write complex scenarios. Also the humour needs to be mentioned more. Marco being Marco gives me joy, he might be my favourite character. Tower of Karma arc was my favourite. I would give Usogui a 9.5/10. It would be a 10, but Baku isn't that complex or masterfully flawed Protagonist that I seek. Even then, I consider it to be a top 5 manga.
Fata Morgana still negs, though.
I think the same, even the Marco one, lol

I'm honestly surprised how much you liked the Battleship Arc. Most of the people I've seen on the internet rated it low (I really liked it btw).
The first half for me was good/great. The beginning served as an introduction to what this manga is about and each arc gradually increased sakes and mind games. The second half was amazing, what else can I say lol.
Also the choreography for fights was amazing, the art had the biggest change I've ever seen in manga.
Battleship was the first arc that had me actually hype because ToK was so fucking confusing and Hal was the first character who’s fighting I cared about

Just finished reading Kaiji one poker arc. It is gambling at its peak
Regarding the gambing theme, I really suggest reading Liar Game, Tomadachi game, Kakegurui and mangas made by Nobuyuki Fukumoto(Gambling Apocalypse: Kaiji and Gambling Emperor Legend Zero)
Akagi manga.
Liar game ending was shitty
The live Action s1 ending was shitty too and other Adaptation issues
One outs too
Liar game is garbage.
Kakegurui is garbage AND with terrible drawing
Tomodachi game is nothing but teenage plays.. no gamble with decent stakes. Any mangas happening in a school area tend to be garbage anyways.

to be honest I'm genuinely amazed that you dropped usogui at the beggining(even tho everyone has their own taste, they might not like mind games and other stuff, even though I don't really liking fighting I cna say I enjoyed usogui fights)and I don't agree with you about baku's favorite line it just never gets boring.to me absolutely every arc where usogui showcased his wits was absolutely amazing and ofc that includes labyrinth arc.but there's a BIG DIFFERENCE between us because you've read it through recomendations and I found it myself, you had your own expectations from the start when I never had it and it just kept surpassing my excpectations from arc to arc.that about expectations I was so hyped for johan's character but when I watched it for the first time, nothing, literally nothing I was amazed people even liked his character(I understood why people liked it after rewatching)that happened with aizen too so expectations might cause someone to not like soemthing which he might've liked if he read it without recomendations form the fandom,I'm currently re-reading it and I'm enjoying it more than I did before what can I say usogui is heavily underrated and not known widely.and so nicne of you tov mentioning monster part the way the fiction inside fiction tells whole story short, that details was awesome to see.thanks for making video about my favorite manga

Air poker had me grasping for air in real life 😭😭
It’s been years now since I read Usogui but it was the most enjoyable experience I have had reading manga
NOOOOOO NOOOOOO
@@toshinroninback to your delinquent mangas 😜
(Wow I wrote alot)
Anyway, great video, really enjoyed it. 👍

maybe he said it in a sarcastic way lol to tell us how toxic the fanbase is
The live action adaption of Usogui is actually what got me interested in checking out the series.
I guess I'll add it to my endless backlog of entertainment. Thanks for the recommendation 👍
