Amon Sul was the home of a palantir so my headcanon is the weird statue thing is the pedestal the palantir once occupied. It even works if you take the palantir orb from Orthanc and place it there
The set is definitely fantastic for display. Nice size, has all the minifigs. However, the price is so horrid and I think Lego tried to justify it with the play functions
I really like this series. I appreciate all the historical info and product images. Super informative and entertaining. I unfortunately missed out on most of these sets. I luckily years later for helms deep, orc forge. And 2 Uraki army sets. Honestly the best theme of lego ever. Just the quality of figures and builds was amazing
Thank you! I really appreciate the kind words and feedback. And that's too bad you missed out, I'm lucky I bought them all back in the day. You're right too, might be the BEST theme ever. It's either this or Star Wars for me.
Just 1 of the 2 horses will cost you $20 nowadays. They never released another set with Nazgul or black steeds. The cost of these will just go up with Barad dur releasing in a couple months.
I would now say that this is one of the most sought after Lord of the Rings sets now from that 2012-2013 line. All the value is in the minifigures and the horses, the build is very dated to say the least and isn't particularly great for todays standards.
1/2 of the lotr sets i own. And so happy it is this specifically, Got it for really cheap 4 years ago too
What is the other half?
Lucky you got it cheap!
@@BrickologyProductions rivendell. Want orthanc, but no longer have the funds for such expensive purchases

I guess that could make sense, would be a pretty obscure reference for them to do. Weird too because the palantir piece didn't release until later.

Yeah I agree
Nice to see a recent review of this. Considering buying one of these just to get the two ringwraiths to go with my Barad Dur. Expensive indeed.

@@BrickologyProductions np. yeah for sure man
A nice set, except those strange and out of place play functions. The price was harsh too and to get it now is, well for me, unattainable.😢
That's too bad, but that's kind of how the cookie crumbles with these LOTR sets.
I would love a remake of this set
Is the trap door to make it look like Frodo disappearing wen he puts the ring on
Maybe? Idk. Still doesn't really make sense

Yup
Please review helms deep
I'm planning on it! I just need to set up my studio
@@BrickologyProductions thank you 😀
