Bondi Rescue follows the work of the elite professional Lifeguards who patrol Australia’s busiest beach. This is Australia’s real life Baywatch! Taking the viewers on their journey through mass rescues, drownings, resuscitations, shark sightings, and all number of the weird and wonderful experiences Bondi Beach dishes up.
In #BondiRescue the audience sees the action through the eyes of real characters and #lifeguards like Hoppo, Deano, Reidy, Jesse, Maxi, Whippet and Harries, as they catch thieves, perform CPR, make drug busts, break up fights, and even handle a navy bomb that washes ashore one afternoon. Every year throws up new and completely unexpected challenges, and how lifeguards adapt is what makes Bondi Rescue a show that’s about much more than swimmers being saved in the surf.

I love how they treat tamika 🥺 they’ve just taken her in and treated her as their daughter/sister/one of the guys and it’s just really great. I bet these were super formative years for her and I’m glad that the boys are so kind to her in their teachings

I was thinking the same! I'm sure being the only girl she at first felt pretty out of place, and they just bring her right in like she's always been there 💖 that's a good way to get someone passionate about what they do, when they're so accepted at the beginning.

Was around ~10 years ago but still have to give respect to Tamika, oh sure she got helped, but she managed to finish what would normally be a Men's level ironman, at 16 no less. Massive respect.
Exactly! A 16 year old girl competing with people twice her size who've trained for years. It would have been extremely unfair if she didn't have some form of advantage.

They also have to remember that Tamika is also still just a child.
I feel like they kept that in mind. They did have her start first, gave her fins, and pulled her out on the jet ski. Plus someone followed her the entire time.
I think WE have to remember she is still just a child. She performed with the best of them, but they were absolutely keeping her safe. They don't call her a child, they call her a Rookie/young lifeguard. That's some decent respect

Just like those of us who left home and joined the military at 16, plus being in a serious relationship and engaged. ( still married 30 years later as well )

@@cowboy10uk different times for certain. Yall were expected to be adults at a much younger age, whereas a young girl being a lifeguard, isn't exactly the same call of duty. I get what you're saying, and I feel I made it clear that they didn't treat her like a child, and I respect her.
That being said, you tell her father that she isn't a child still, you know what I mean? Times have changed, that's for certain.
@@cowboy10uk also, I was responding to the comment and saying that the lifeguards are well aware of her age and skill level, and even then she performed well. I was saying that WE as the viewer, need to keep it in mind that she is performing out of her league.

One second you are admiring the beautiful tanned skin and abs of an Australian lifeguard the next second you are almost crying about the young man almost drowning. This show is truly an up down of emotions that keeps you watching. I can barely believe it’s real. Real life Baywatch. Including Harry as Hasselhoff.

These men are like classy princes. They build each other up and support one another and are genuinely happy for each other. As for the young woman trainee, they treated her with respect and kindness and moved me to tears. Where do i find a man like that?
Watching these rescuers in action on RUclips gets my greatest respect. As a former ultra runner, familiar with extreme physical testing, I really do relate to their magnificence. Now as an old man I would be extremely proud to be a parent to any one of them.

I love how the guys pushed Tamika to try the Ironman and stayed with her the whole time. Winning may not have been on the table for a 16 year old with only a few weeks training, but what an amazing confidence building experience for her!! I bet she still talks about it to this day. It’s so great to watch people propel each other forward towards achievements

Great job Tamika! People need to RESPECT THE OCEAN!!!! I still do not understand why people who don’t have the experience or knowledge to swim in the ocean or not AT ALL go past their knees. I’ve been swimming in the ocean since I was a young child so I know how to get out of a rip (swim parallel to the beach until you’re out of it) but I still know how scary the water can be

You know what, I feel like I could pull of being a lifeguard for a day of how much I watch Bondi rescue.
Go for it. I know around here they really struggle to get enough of them.
Lifeguarding is one thing but mix in ocean currents and it’s a whole different ballpark, just a few minutes swimming in that will tire you out

They are experienced enough to be able to judge whether or not Tamika could handle it. They would have never sent her out to a rescue they didn't believe she could pull off.
