I was just checking when my starter motor was replaced and it was just over 2 years ago with an Auto Electric starter motor.I took airbox and rest of air feed bits off and noticed a plug connector on a metal bracket stuck in the fan blades that had brought up a obstruction code on my Topdon diagnostic.I noticed that bracket should have been where the bottom bolt on the starter is.Gonna have words with the mechanic Singh as he did the job and didnt put everything back as it should be!This is the best video i have found. My VRS is getting on now at 14 years old but i love it and will fix it as i have no plans to get rid as its an awesome car for speed, economy and practicality.
Thanks for watching really appreciate it. He really should have put the bracket on the bolt and tighten it up with 13mm nut. I have to say they are solid cars I had skoda OCTAVIA 2.0 tdi and did over 400k and still was going strong.
Just looking and comparing photos that i took compared to your video and theres no earth strap on that top bolt.No earth no start me thinks. This has helped me tremendously.
How much would you pay a garage to do that ? Thanks to you , I don’t have to pay a garage . Did it myself . Did it with a car jack . Like the guy said Made it a safe as I could . Happy days 👍

Hi
Theyre not making good quality parts any more when a starter motor goes bad after 12 months. My cars gonna need a new starter motor.
Most parts are reconditioned now that's why not very good.
