    I believe this is the one of the most difficult clutch and dual mass wheel replacement. You need to dismantle half of the car to get access to the clutch plate. Well done Kevin. Love your videos!

    Hi Kevin, I heard your customer comment about Skoda in New Zealand. I live there and two years ago (Xmas) we bought an RS245 Wagon over a VW. The simple truth. All the same tech as VW & Audi for a 1/3 of the price. I stumbled across your channel as i was looking for someone who's replaced rotors and brakes on a VAG car. I need to admit, you're very exceptional at your job Kevin; you make it look so easy - clearly it's not. I wish you all the best health and a long career chief.

    I did the clutch on my 1990 Volvo on my driveway after watching a Chrisfix and reading how to in my Haynes manual. Before that I hadn't done any mechanical jobs other than oil change. Wasn't very fun at times and took about 3 days but the satisfaction was well worth it in the end. Keep up the good work 💪

    Before I watch this video, I'll just comment...
    I followed your videos on the Insignia and the Astra (I have the 13 plate SRI Insignia) to help me to do the job myself, because I was well outside of your coverage area. I purchased the Sachs clutch kit (including DMF and new CSC), purchased all of the tools necessary and I followed everything you did on those jobs.
    The end result?
    SUCCESS! And I can't thank you enough again for your videos. You inspired me and gave me the confidence to do it myself and it was a 110% success. Of course, the job took me 10 hours opposed to - how long does it take you? 4 or 5?
    The DMF was battered and needed grinding off, the pressure plate bolts were rounding off and I had to find equivalents to replace (could hardly get them off without drastic measures) and every step of the way seemed to throw something new at me - really gave me a challenge.
    I'm now all beat up from doing it - especially my right hand from trying to get to that evil bolt on the back of the starter motor - you know the one?
    How do you do this every day? Are you a machine? Big kudos to you.

    • @WMCS
      @WMCS  3 года назад +1

      Lee what a day you’ve had by the sound of it. Firstly., the main thing is you got it done 🍻🍻
      Now that is a baptism of fire on your first one you get the flywheel spin. And you managed that. And secondly yes. That infamous starter bolt.
      Hats off to you and really glad to hear the video came in handy.
      It’s not the easiest job these insignia. Box a bit heavy as well.

    • @leenob
      @leenob 3 года назад

      @@WMCS You're not kidding about the box weight. I am a body builder and still struggled to wiggle that lump onto the engine. The job was fraught with obstacles, the flywheel being the worst of them all.

    I'm interested, how do you handle wrong parts/ damaged Cv boot etc that are only discovered mid job?

    • @WMCS
      @WMCS  3 года назад

      I order parts myself. So it won’t be wrong.
      Nothing gets damaged.
      Anything I find I report to customer., to take to their local garage.
      I have one job. And one job only. To replace a clutch.

      @@WMCS I find even when we order the parts they are often wrong, especially from euro parts so was curious how you dealt with it, we just have to delay the reassembly until right part comes in.
      Ok we would typically replace damaged oil seals, CV boots during the job as shafts are out so it makes good sense not to be paying labour twice, it's an interesting business model, tough work on the floor

    Kevin, what kind of cordless impact wrench are you using? I have never seen in your videos how you use a gas burner and an extruder for broken pins, do you always unscrew everything easily or do you not tackle very old cars? How do you recharge the batteries for your tools if they run out during operation? Why you don't use a jack to install the gearboxes? Thanks for your videos, you are doing an excellent job.

    • @WMCS
      @WMCS  3 года назад

      I never use heat. Lots of wd40. Once the rust breaks off you’re home free. But slowly tighten and loosen
      I don’t need to recharge. I’m under there for no more than 3-5hrs.
      Maybe one day I’ll use a jack. For now I’m ok.
