good aproach to the sport version of the jump, which is good, I (humbly) would suggest also to go from the Mikazuki geri and the jump in heian Godan and then build from there to kanku Dai, and the jumps in empi and Kanku sho to understand the meaning of the mikazuki geri up to that point. Although this is good, and the performer looks skilled, there's no mikazuki in that jump. Just giving my opinion, don't get me wrong...!! greetings...!!
You’re absolutely right! And after right mikazuki geri there should be left ushiro geri. To quote a famous Japanese instructor “There’s no jump in Unsu”
Hi, great video! I'm having exactly the problem you mentioned: I'm making two noises because I don't land together. My front foot always lands first. Any suggestions on how to correct it? THX!!
The reason this has been phased out is that it prevents the height that can be achieved without doing it and this height of the jump is the impressive factor which is sought after in competitions. But unfortunately you are right and the original bunkai of the movement has been lost.
This is just the jump... Where are the kicks? When did they remove the kicks? Right leg kicks incoming hit and left leg kicks the head... I did this Kata 1995 and it was difficult. But, honestly did they really remove the kicks??? ruclips.net/user/shortsFmHfAVKOJzQ?si=Vs_jEbecdSZJ82Q6

Very helpful, Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Where's the creasant kick hitting the front hand before you actually take off and perform the jump !
There are a variety of ways to perform the jump. Yes, you can do it with mikazuki geri and it can also be done with a yoko tobi geri.

Oss 🙇♂️ thank you
Молодцы! Спасибо!
Debe ejecutar mikazukigeri a la mano. Es asi la interpretación tecnica. Oss
Thanks
Perfect 👍🏻
It's really helpful, but sadly almost everyone skips a la Kanazawa original right foot kick at the jumper's left hand's palm prior to the jump.
The reason this has been phased out is that it prevents the height that can be achieved without doing it and this height of the jump is the impressive factor which is sought after in competitions. But unfortunately you are right and the original bunkai of the movement has been lost.
This is a tournament style jump for sure. I've even seen it done with yoko tobi geri!
ruclips.net/user/shortsFmHfAVKOJzQ?si=Vs_jEbecdSZJ82Q6 it was a double hook kick.
