I feel bad for the younger generations, they don't have voices and talents in the charts like we did when we were their ages. No wonder they search and discover artists like this and learn what true talent is.
Aloha Johnny Mathis and Marbillem !!!!!! Love your "Man of La Mancha Medley." You are loved by the world because people are able to identify with your soul and heart !!!!!! Am 78 yrs. old now, and your songs on love and life are so magical and brings me much joy and happiness !!!!! A humble and grateful fan, Robert S.J. Hu July 24, 2020. God bless you and take care of you and your family !!!!!!!!
Aloha, I just read your comment on Johnny Mathis' Man of La Mancha medley and I agree. I live on the Big Island and just saw Johnny a year ago in Rancho Mirage,CA. He still sings so beautifully for 87 years young.
He could sing a dictionary, phone book or even a road map. Genious, satin velvet voice. American jewel. Will be a mighty sad day when we lose him. Saw him in 2019 after waiting 59 years to do so. Memory to hold in my heart. Live on Johnny. Sing on Johnny. Your music will never die. 🎶🎤🎶
Having attended many of Johnny's concerts. in the late 60's and early 70's, he would always close his shows with this medley and hearing it in person would send shock waves, his voice was that incredibile. Thank you Johnny!!!
The Masterpiece. It never gets old. I am 77. I have listened to him since my HS days in the 60's. One of my favorite singer all my life. I have the great fortune of watched him live in Clark Air Base at the Airmen's Club long ago(69 or early 70), then again in San Antonio when he performed few years back. Sing almost nonstop as usual. Always great.
Johnny Mathis touches your heart and soul in such a personal, intimate manner that you can’t believe someone is capable of expressing thru song what you might think is humanly possible, but is! His rare and unique gift is a conduit to the infinite because he does not put a limit on how magnificent his abilities truly are!
Just wonderful and I have loved him for so long always lifts my sprite what a gift thank you Johnny first saw him sing the impossible dream in 1966 in London prince of Wales theatre just still so incredibly wood x
The best version you will ever hear of this. I get a chill up the spine every time I hear this especially when Mr M adds part os Dulcinea to Impossible Dream. Young singers take note of this masterclass.
I’ve never heard this song sang so beautifully Every word is so clearly sang. Mr Johnny Mathis takes his beautiful time singing this song.I love this man’s beautiful voice. 💕🙏🏽
I have loved the sound of Johnny's velvet voice since I was in grade school in the early 60s. He makes everything he sings sound so romantic. I never get tired of listening to him sing.
There could only ever have been one Johnny Mathis, a man who gave us decades of superb singing and musicianship. I remember seeing him in London in the early sixties, a concert that even after all these years remains in my memory as one of the finest - maybe THE finest. The Man From La Mancha had recently opened on Broadway and music was new to us. His rendition of this medley on that night has remained in my mind ever since.
I have been a fan of Johnny's since the 1957 . I have seen him in concert a few times and he is one of the only singers I have seen in concert and I have seen a few, that sounds just like his recordings, beautiful !! ! sill get a thril listening to him. I feel blessed to have had that pleasure in my life God bless.
@@joanbryan7151 Me too from 1957. I saw him in Miami and New York and he was due to do a meet and greet in Freeport in the Bahamas but did not do that. I understand he is painfully shy. I was friendly with his Fan club president when I was a student in England and she went to California to see him. Heady stuff when you are 17! God bless
I have loved this man since I was 17.....so many decades and I'm still enthralled by his aura, voice and soulfulness. When I think of heaven, this is the voice of the angels!
He has been my favorite singer since I was 16... 1973. I've had the pleasure of seeing him in concert 6 times over the years, and each experience left me in awe of his versatility, range, and passion for his craft. Simply the best.
Wow - never heard Mathis sing this La Mancha medley - his voice is heroic and does great justice to the music - more tenor than the great Kiley's great heroic baritone - I performed Sancho many times in the past 35 years - and I can't wonder what Mathis would have done in a live production as Don Quixote at his vocal height. I saw a big star perform Don Q on BWay many years ago - he didn't sound half this good. The Dulcinea is a beautifully lyrical love ballad and the Impossible Dream; awsome. Bravo sir - no wonder my mom had all his albums!!!
Mathis had quite the powerful voice and range, plus his performance of some of my favorite Christmas music makes me smile every time I hear it. He's got one of those voices that makes the entire heart smile, indeed.
THE BEST VOICE TO SING THESE SONGS !!!!! THIS CLIP IS A TREASURE. THANK YOU VERY MUCH IN THE NAME OF MUSIC LOVERS OF THE WORLD. HE WILL BE SINGING INLONDON NEXT OCTOBER.
I have listened to and loved Johnny Mathis since i was in my late teens. I am now in my early eighties and his singing still brings tears to my eyes. He is magnificent
Glad to hear that he included the original lyric "to love, pure and chaste from afar" in "The Impossible Dream." Most pop singers who have recorded it changed that particular line to "to be better far than you are," an inferior substitution.
I, too, am a fan of Johnny Mathis whom I listen to all the time. I also recommend Brian Stokes Mitchell's wonderful interpretatin of Impossible Dream. He gets standing ovation every time he ends a concert with this signature piece of his.
Johnny has been my favorite since 1959 when I saw him at an outdoor Summer theatre in Cleveland Heights OH. I have loved him since, and still, after all this time I cannot listen to this Man of LlaMancha medley without crying. Johnny continues to wrap himself, body and soul, around this type of music - and the rest of us continue to be the beneficiaries of that talent! Stay well, Johnny, you are the voice of love in a world that seems to forget the meaning of that word!
Beautiful ! Johnny Mathis was my first favorite singer , way back in 1958 . And he rocked me then , really making a huge impact on me . Time marched on, as did I . I left him behind and moved on to other musical tastes , mostly folk music during the 60's and 70's . Later, r&b attracted me , and I focused more on classical music . I later moved on to live in the Caribbean and got into Latin music and different kinds of international music . Now, as I approach 80 , I checked out Johhny Mathis again, after a long hiatus , and found that I still love how he sings and the songs that he sings . Like the late and great Harry Chapin wrote , it seems like all my life's a circle . George Lewis, Sr
Fico surpresa ao ouvir essa música com tanto lirismo na voz do Johnny, já ouvi muitas vezes em vários teatros com outros artistas, mas nenhum se iguala a Johnny mathis, maravilhoso jamais eaquecerei
It's worth watching the 1967 version of this same performance and notice the difference in phrasing, volume, etc...You can see how he evolved over the years
Been a fan since 1966. I was 16 then went to see him a the Fisher Theatre in Detroit I fell in love with him and still love him and his music. Love how he sings
This is a master class in singing. My all time favourite medley that I never tire of listening to. I have an old cassette tape of this concert so I can listen to it whenever I want. The hairs on the back of my neck prickle every time.
I feel bad for the younger generations, they don't have voices and talents in the charts like we did when we were their ages. No wonder they search and discover artists like this and learn what true talent is.
Voz maravillosa, por los anos cambio un poco.incomparable Johnny!!!!!♥️♥️♥️

What joy Johnny brings me. Thank God he chose to sing
I have loved Johnny Mathis since I was a teenager. I am now a senior citizen.
Nobody like Johnny. Loved him since I was 16. And that was almost 60 years ago.
What can one say? Is there multi universes. Got to be This gift comes from afar. HEAVENLY Indeed
His music always makes me happy. Thank You. Your MoM and DaD would be so proud. 🌺💗🌺💗🌺 Mary Ellen

If only his parents could experience this !! Gone too soon…..😢
how could 49 peoples not like this, it's pure perfection
I may be showing my age (73), but here was a true artist with a voice that captivated generations and produced countless, countless recordings.

Johnny is the GOAT!
What a great magnificent performance by Mr. Mathis! He had a vocal range matched by no one, a vocal quality that is awesome! 🥰👍
