July 15, 2020 was the worst day of my life. My grandfather lost his battle with pancreatic cancer. He was asleep all day. My aunt put this song on and he woke up real brief with a BIG smile and then he passed. Thank you Johnny for welcoming him into heaven 😇
From the very first note you know its Johnny Mathis one of the most unforgettable wonderful singer of his time. There was and only will never be another singer with the smooth voice of Johnny Mathis.
My parents met as young teenagers at an ice cream parlor... It was 1957 and the song playing in the background was "Chances Are" by Johnny Mathis (as told by both of them). I grew up listening to him, and now at the age of 56 I remain a huge fan. I have never listened to a Johnny Mathis song that I did not like, and my smartphone is replete with his songs. Literally the soundtrack of my life from childhood until now.
We saw Johnny at the Golden Nugget in Lake Charles last year, the 2nd row from him. He immediately transported us on a carpet ride with his wonderfully trained voice!! We have all his albums and love him for his talent!! God bless you, Johnny!!
Thank you for your beautiful music. After losing my MOM and DAD at the age of 18 I listened to your music every night as I remembered singing your beautiful songs with my MOM throughout the years before. It gave me some peace through the next part of my lift. I do hope some day to see you in the beautiful afterlife as I know you will certainly be there.
What an incredible voice. When I heard him sing, it was like the whole world stopped. At least for me, as I had to listen to every word, every note of this wonderful singer.
This is voice I’ve listened to for 60 years and NEVER get tired of. When I lived at home with my parents & siblings, rule of the house with our ONE stereo- whoever gets it 1st gets to use it! I would load up 6 of JM’s ALBUMS at a time and would be 1st one in line to turn all 6 over to Side 2!! I even wrote out inscription on my headstone including my reference to JM. My sister & brother will be laughing through their tears! “Chances Are” we will meet again!
I saw him at the Fox and walked in as he walked on stage singing “Wonderful, Wonderful!” It was perfect, too! Thanks, Johnny for beauty you put into every song ❤️!
