You can also stay in your spot and use an Orion sniper and aim on the rocks and hope some shots ricochet on his back spot. Worked wonders for me with a class mod with sniper ammo regen.
It's not hard once you have good guns, class mod and understand how to handle Crawmerax pets. You need to be max level and finish all side missions to roll bunch of good guns until you actually attempt without glitch.

It's way too hard with Brick. Very easy with Lilith. Just run to another angle of arena with special skill Easy with Roland. Activate turret on the high elevator position. And run on ledge. Easy with Mordecai. Just activate Mordecai bird skill were elevator and run on ledge. Mostly small enemies follow your bird not you. Of course need to find special weapons and class modificators Must have weapon for any characters Sniper rifle Orion - legendary. For worms. Rocket Launchers Mongol or any spiral 3 rockets. For critical point on spine. Hellfire SMG - for caustic green crabs. Legendary Maliwan shotgun with corrosive effect, or revolver for armored purple crabs. For Lilith - very good anarchy SMG, with mercenary class mod. Very fast destroyed critical points. For Roland - assault rifle Ogre. Need to install on turret shocking artefact. Mordecai - the best character to farm of pearl or legendary weapon, with Scavenger class mod.
Gearbox replaced ledge relief in the B1 Remastered. In the original game from 2008 year, ledge was more biggest, and not needed to sneak for using this glitch. Of Course, Gearbox not fixed another bugs. Typical Gears...
