- The M110A1 Squad Designated Marksman Rifle (SDMR) is a variant of the 7.62 mm G28/HK417 manufactured by Heckler & Koch. The M110A1 is semi-automatic, magazine-fed, fires 7.62 mm rounds through a supressor, and has a maximum effective range of 600 meters.

we have gone completely in reverse, 556 back to 762 which is probably not a bad thing. I did enjoy the M14, now this H&K might be the ticket for 600 to 200 yard targets
So both HK & KAC have current contracts to supply various different versions of the M110 to different branches of the military. Standard M110, modernized M110, lightweight compact M110, and an M110 in 6.5 Creedmor.
I'm sure this won't get confusing at all. 🤠

M110A1 is the HK, M110 is the KAC. In a new twist, "A1" can be "a totally different machine altogether" nowadays I guess.

2000年以降は武器の変化が目まぐるしくてなかなか商品名・俗称と軍採用名が頭の中でリンクしない銃が増えてきた･･･

Why do some of the rifles sound suppressed and some don't when fitted in this video? In some of the clips the non-suppressed configurations seem quieter.
That stuff doesn't translate well to microphones, and loudness almost doesn't translate at all on recordings.
The range of loudness between which something will sound loud or quiet in a video is so far below how loud one of these suppressed is from like 600 meters away that you would have to record 1km away for a normal video to show a difference in how loud it is between suppressed an unsuppressed. Otherwise, they'd be the same loudness in the video because they both peak the mic.
Another thing that affects it is that we perceive certain pitches much louder or quieter than others despite their objective loudness being the same.

それに精度と重量ではSR-25の方が上だったと思うけどどうして新しく入れたんだろうか？
DI式のAR10は荒野だとジャムりまくって不評だったから、精度の良さってもセミオートかつマークスマンの距離だとその恩恵は僅かだからそれよりロバスト性の高さ動作信頼性を取ったって感じだろうね。
