It's always fantastic to go visit Phil and Liiam, they do some beautiful work, we send our cars here when it's required and never have an issue with them
Been an absolute joy popping by. I’m hoping to make it a regular visit if they don’t mind. Got to get out of Melbourne a bit earlier before picking up my daughter from school. Make sure you subscribe and hit that notification bell so you don’t miss out on ep2. Coming soon
My dad had a red xy gs falcon toploader lsd 250 2v. It had foctory bonnet pins like the xw gt but the pins were small. On the glove box it was engraved gs never seen that before and factory sqaure tip exhaust. It used to chirp first to second gear. It was faster then alot of v8s. What a car it was never seen one like that
@@daniellebcooper7160 I’ve been a member of my local xw XY owners club for the past 40 years … I have picked up a thing or two… So what’s your genius based on ? I’ve probably owned more of these than you’ve had hot dinners Gts included
I think I recall either David or Dan at Grand Tourer mentioning the GT’s getting something a little extra special in the rust resistance department in one of my earlier videos. Might be dreaming it though.
@@davesclassicgaragetours My father worked out at Ford Broadmeadows in those days, in the parts department; which was a separate building to the production line building. According to him, there was only ONE production line at ford Broadmeadows in those days. Each car was sent down the line, with various parts being attached to the shell according to color codes; but there was NO special rust treatment to any car, regardless whether they were a standard falcon 500 or a GTHO. I'm very skeptical when i hear stories now days regarding GT's & HO's, especially after reading what Aussie Muscle Car Sales push to get more money for their cars...like that 'phase 4' they sold recently. They said it had extra welding done on it at the production line. Even though John Wynne, head of Lot 6, had said that all extra welding was done at Lot 6. I mean NO offence to you or Bat Man Lives personally, i just try to keep history as factual as possible. Best regards DBC.
Don’t know how I feel about patina paint work? If you’re paying for it to drive like new but still have to pay to look like old when it could look like new? I’m confused? Love this video and love the channel! Nice one Dave.
My old Merc TE will be getting the treatment one day on its roof. It’s mostly in great sun baked condition, a real original car except up top. The little old lady who owned it before me in Canberra didn’t know she’d been egged twice on the roof. If it can be made to look like the rest of the car, I’ll be a lot happier. Plenty of pristine examples out there but agree to do a whole car seems a bit OTT but if you’ve got a line up of show cars …and the money, why not?

You have a really nice thing going with the old cars being restored, and the stories to match. Thanks for posting.
Thanks Wes. I feel really privileged that so many businesses afford me the time to pop in for a look around.
The genuine gt/ GTHO were EPD dipped at the factory and so are fairly resistant to rust
The non genuine ones… not so much !
Where did you hear that one from, Australian Muscle Car Sales perhaps, they make up their own crap????

The first wild Violet cars had to be called back due problem s with the paint.

Isn't Patina, another word for Rust!
Tom”a”to - Tom-“ah”-to. Could be sun damage, lacquer peel, a dent or ding
Patina is french word for polished turd
Patina is french word meaning polished turd
Rusty- Gaping Hole! Either way definitely needs repair

Are they taking on new work?
If you’re from Gippsland, you’ll likely have to join the queue but give them a ring
