So true Alex! I played my first 9 holes of the season in the wind yesterday. Didn't try to muscle any shots and went up a club most shots. 5 out of 9 holes had aerated greens and I shot my all time low 44 (+8) on my "home" course. Thanks for all you do to help us play better golf 😊
Thanks Mr. Alex… I played my first round on Friday. I saw big improvement and distance with irons. Still need work from the tee box, but had some great pars…
I’ve tried this before. It’s changing your mind set and being brave. Once you done it a few time you do it for the round. My problem is doing it the next round lol.
You sure made it look easy there, Alex 😁 👍. Maybe I need to hit my a little bit harder cos my friends always told me that I hit it too easy 😂. Thanks for sharing and can't wait to give it a try on the range.
Hi Alex, I don’t know if it’s just me however my 8 iron is my least used club so I had to recheck my launch monitor to double check. Being in Australia, it’s metres for us and my 8 averages 180 metres, 7 is more consistent at 187 metres and I prefer to just take a bit off the attack with the 7 instead of using the 8. Anyone the same? As I’ve gone down this path from way back to junior competitions in the mid 80’s to early 90’s.
Different ask = Could u go through the quality of that laser/tracking device u got there and WHY u picked that instead of anything else... and from where did u buy it.... if it's so good ... cause it really seems good and tiny enough to take anywhere ... ?!?!
I’m always trying to hit a comfortable 100%, 140ish yards carry (total depends on course conditions so at the moment 140 yards!!) just wish I could’ve sunk those 5x3ft putts on Sunday!!!
My 8 iron carries anywhere from 5 to 145 yards. Factors include: how many beers I had, luck (or lack of), and how frustrated I am at the time. 7 iron, I don’t even waste time pulling out of bag!
If you could hit your 6,7,8 irons the same distance, do you really need three clubs? Then 9, P, G? Then 3,4,5? Make grouping of 3 clubs each with their own groups of lengths. Driver, fairway wood, wedge, 3 different iron, 1 higher loft wedge or chipper, putter. 9 clubs.
Another great video - nobody swings the same so why do some pga teaching pros try and teach everyone the same swing! I bet if everJim Furyk lost his swing a lot of pga teaching pros wouldn’t know how to fix him!
@@AlexElliottGolf I don’t understand your question. You were saying take a longer club so you dont have to swing so hard. For me to hit 200 yards+ I would need a club longer than a driver (just being a wise guy).
The longer club I use the worse it gets, 8 iron for me I’d be lucky to get 120 yards since reaching plus 80. Lost it totally. All anyone says is t.hat I’m lucky to be still playing, obviously bit better in the Summer.
The ball is the biggest problem for me....I can swing the club until the ball is introduced.....then it becomes a hit.....hit the ball ...swing gone....
I’m enjoying your channel. Lots of great content and valuable information. The hardest part for me is the mental aspect. I’ve spent so much time obsessing about the mechanics that I forget to have fun and let myself enjoy the process. Your videos are a nice blend of instruction and inspiration. Making the game fun again for me. Thank you
*What a golfer! Golfer being the key word…learn to SWING YOUR SWING! I use this drill all the time!*

120 8 iron is a good one for me.
it's amazing coach, every time I come home from the driving range after a miserable practice session, you make a video of what I need! 😂
Happy to help! Haha I need to time it better for you!!

Depends on the weather and course conditions. Playing well in the summer 165+ Playing badly in the winter 140.
120-130 yards 8Iron smooth every time
Love to
Hear the smooth!!
@@AlexElliottGolf I love watching your videos there extremely good and helpful thank you ☺️

135yrds eight iron
What do you hit yours?
8 iron 130 yards
I hope that this drill helps you gain control!!
Well I’m not sure just picked up my new clubs and the head of my 8iron went flying on the first swing so like 100 Bc that’s how far the ball went
121 average at the moment , but only logged 3 rounds on golf pad
Love that!! Logging is key!!

130 yards- age 75
202 yards. What club is longer than a driver?
What do you mean sorry?

8 iron, about 125..60 yrs old
Great that’s class!!! Get that tempo smother out
I am 74 yo and hit my 8 iron 140 yards max
At my age around 120 yds.
175 maybe 180 for a maxed 8. Normal gamer distance is 165-170. Standard lofts btw.

145
140
According to my garmen my 8 iron is 160 yards
135 normally
120 yds
All out 140yds
Getting old! Use to hit an 8 iron 150 yards, now as an old geezer only 130 yards!😢
8 iron flat out 144 yards
8 iron 160-170 yrds
I think matt Wolff has furyk beat on weird factor.
155-60 yards in normal conditions.
My 8 goes 135-140 max 😂😂
The ball is the biggest problem for me....I can swing the club until the ball is introduced.....then it becomes a hit.....hit the ball ...swing gone....
Please give this a go for me 🙌🏼🙌🏼
@@AlexElliottGolf well I've tried just about everything else...so might as well...
Oh I wish 90-100
I hit my 8iron 120 yards. I don't think my goal is to hit 7iron 120. Oh I'm young. I'm just weak.
Nice just keep it smooth that’s the key
Under fair conditions my every day 8 iron flys 190. No idea what max distance would be. Maybe another 10-15 yards letting it rip…lol
