  • In episode 2 of this western deer hunt, Michael is back in Bozeman to pick up cameraman Jonathan head out east to chase whitetails and mule deer. Joining them is still Chris Neville of ‪@GOHUNT‬ who has a general deer tag to fill as well.
    After showing up to the area they set up camp and head in different directions to scout a few spots for the morning. They're able to spot some mule deer and whitetails, but nothing worth getting overly excited about. The next morning they head back up to the same spot and Michael gets a chance on a nice whitetail buck at close range.

    SHOOT OR WISH YOU HAD.... I'm shocked that whitetail stood there as long as he did. FYI from an ol' boy from the south... trees are as good as bipods. But I'm enjoying the show and love to different camp gear / equipment in use. Might "need" one of those teepee tent combos.

    "That's the difference between a Whitetail and a Mulie, the Mulie is just standing there", then minute 14:00, what is standing there watching you fumble around, making all kinds of noise? A Whitetail Buck. Have hunted Mule deer for the last 20 years in Idaho and they are much harder to get close to than the New England Whitetails I was raised hunting.

    Nothing wrong with taking a prone shot, but seriously all these huntjng production crews need to loose the bipods and learn some rifle fundamentals. Always using a bipod or a benchrest is a crutch. Bipod has its place for setting up long precision shots but theres nothing like being proficient with a rifle.
    The archery guys practice, practice, practice, but gun guy for the most part suck and cant shoot without a rest or handle a rifle like the european drive hunters.

    • @SnaggedOnBottom
      @SnaggedOnBottom 3 года назад

      I have a love hate relationship with my bi-pod. Really helped with shooting the buck I eventually killed but in this case I was messing around with it a little too much. That mixed trying to get a good look at the buck was the combination of why this opportunity was missed. I do like to shoot a lot, I am guilty of not practicing in a bunch of different positions and it's somthing that im going to work on in 2021. Thanks for the comment.
