The sound of footsteps on the path, wind, the odd car, ya voice, the words, and a touch of a distant tune nearing the the end makes this video a new favorite .. Brilliantly done 🙏🏻❤️

There’s definitely something here that we can forget - that the running is the thing. It’s not even solely pressure from others, sometimes we put this pressure on ourselves too, not running because we think we might not hit our goals for pace or distance in time or condition we are in, so end up not running at all - when just running and ignoring or forgetting everything else would be the better option. I don’t know where that pressure comes from, but I think some of it is social from platforms such as strava and not wanting to appear slow

    Ben, Mary
The most memorable videos y’all have made are these. I have shared your videos with countless non runners and have converted them. I have followed y’all for a while now and will continue recommending your awesome videos to everyone that will watch. Your videos have truly helped me. It’s 3:26 am in New Orleans and I’m lacing my shoes up. Going to run!

I started at 52 and will be 57 this year and I have never missed a week of running. For somebody that never really stuck with anything for very long, running, despite all the suffering required, has pretty much saved me. So true. My best training block ever, I ran with no watch, no distance, no pace. Just went out for the joy of it. I ran a 3:20 PB marathon off that. It doesn't have to be complicated.

I am an older/newer runner, at 56 I have been running for 2.5 years. I work with a running coach, I have running orientated goals. When it comes to running #1 rule is to stay healthy. So if chasing after a BP or a longer distance puts that at risk, I price is too high to pay. I never looked at myself as a runner. People now are asking me questions about running or how to start. “I AM RUNNER” Not because I’m fast or run a certain distance, because I run.

I love that these videos come out on Sunday mornings before my long run. Currently my long run is just over 5k, since I have been having issues with my right leg. I scaled my running way back and am focusing on mobility and strength training. I’ve had to toss any plan of sessions, pace goals, distance goals, race plans, etc. Right now the goal is running without pain. It’s helping and I’m hoping to get my long runs back up to 10-15k in a few months.

I'm 45 and been running (in some capacity) for 20 years and I would say at least 50% of people who find out I'm a runner say "How are your knees holding up"? Always with that negative undertone (you known the one all too well). Like ya bud - you sit on the couch 8 hours a day and are 70 pounds overweight and you're worried about my knees? Such a double standard we have in our world. They can chuck judgment our way for being active but the moment we say "Hey, have you had any issues with all that fast food you eat?" We are being rude and inconsiderate. All we can do is smile, node, and go for a run:)

I'm fat and slow, but that doesn't matter....just run!

This hits very close to home. For the first time in 6 years, I've been sidelined with an injury. And even though I still wallow in self-pity and jealousy when I see my friends on Strava running, I'm also rehabbing the shit out of my ankle and plotting my come-back weeks to get back to my previous form. I'm indeed doing anything I can to run again.

I love this video. I always hated running and I couldn't go for more than a couple of minutes. I had this friend who I really like but you know one of those people I can't even approach. One thing I thought was really neat about her is how much she runs. Regularly 10 miles and sometimes 20. One day I decided since I can't approach her maybe I could at least try and do something that I like about her. So I decided I would One day be able to run that 20 miles. I'm up to 7.5 miles in 1:15. Now it just feels good and I don't want to injure myself but I bet I could do 10 now.

Great messages and thanks for the inspiration! I watched a HM almost exactly a year ago and wondered if I could do it. I watched a lot of your videos, downloaded your 13 week plan and today ran a half in 1.56 at 49 years old and 95kg. I couldn’t be more pleased particularly as I’ve never thought of myself as a ‘runner’ and my last half was 20 years ago and 10 mins slower. It’s quite addictive.. next target sub 1.45!
