The sound of footsteps on the path, wind, the odd car, ya voice, the words, and a touch of a distant tune nearing the the end makes this video a new favorite .. Brilliantly done 🙏🏻❤️
And Marys shadow was mesmerizing too❤
There’s definitely something here that we can forget - that the running is the thing. It’s not even solely pressure from others, sometimes we put this pressure on ourselves too, not running because we think we might not hit our goals for pace or distance in time or condition we are in, so end up not running at all - when just running and ignoring or forgetting everything else would be the better option. I don’t know where that pressure comes from, but I think some of it is social from platforms such as strava and not wanting to appear slow
Love this video. I will be 60 this year and still run. pretty much every day There is nothing like it.
Ben, Mary
The most memorable videos y’all have made are these. I have shared your videos with countless non runners and have converted them. I have followed y’all for a while now and will continue recommending your awesome videos to everyone that will watch. Your videos have truly helped me. It’s 3:26 am in New Orleans and I’m lacing my shoes up. Going to run!
Ha ha that’s so amazing!! Getting it!! Thanks so much for the kind words as well. It means so much 😊
Hey Jorge, I live in Mandeville! I agree with your sentiment!! Keep it going Ben & Mary!! ☮
I think we all have that phase of getting obsessed with the numbers around running, but definitely is not the important part. For me running is the way of showing my body how grateful I am of being able to run 😊
Just run, free, happy, and for yourself. Just run. 😎
I started at 52 and will be 57 this year and I have never missed a week of running. For somebody that never really stuck with anything for very long, running, despite all the suffering required, has pretty much saved me. The physical and mental health benefits are nothing short of extraordinary! Great video!
Thank u!
Oh thank you so much! It’s so calming to have a video with no music. Thank you the video is great
So true. My best training block ever, I ran with no watch, no distance, no pace. Just went out for the joy of it. I ran a 3:20 PB marathon off that. It doesn't have to be complicated.
I am an older/newer runner, at 56 I have been running for 2.5 years. I work with a running coach, I have running orientated goals. When it comes to running #1 rule is to stay healthy. So if chasing after a BP or a longer distance puts that at risk, I price is too high to pay. I never looked at myself as a runner. People now are asking me questions about running or how to start. “I AM RUNNER” Not because I’m fast or run a certain distance, because I run.
It's that simple❤
It really is! Just figure the rest out whilst you’re in it 😊
Wow, great video. Love the sound of footsteps behind the voiceover with the peaceful running. The quality of this video is outstanding!
Love this one! 🏃🏻♂️ bringing running into my life has been one of the greatest things I’ve ever done. I’m 43 yrs old and the best I’ve ever been.
Not ashamed to say this video made me emotional.
Such a powerful message. I needed to hear this. More than you’ll ever know. I’m really new to running. Running is hard. But I will never give up. Thank you so much for these comforting and encouraging words 🤗🇨🇦
Sounds like a meditation 😊 thank you for this ❤
Oh my Ben and Mary, I ( and many others) needed this more than u know. I have been so bogged down with do this, do this, do that. All I need to do is get up, get out, and get it, I am a runner! Thank you so much, love being able to share the journey!
The videos of a Mary running with Ben’s motivational voiceover are the best on this channel. I’ve shared many times…..
Loved this video . I'm pretty new to running and i seem to forget to just run . I'm to worried about if my heart rate is low enough to burn my excess fat off .it will probably happen no matter the hr . To worried about all the videos telling me i need to do somthing instead i should just run and figure it out along the way.
The view is worth every step! Great video ❤️ I never regret a run.
Such an appropriate video. Had so many convos in my mind about whether to run or take a break this morning. In the end I just ran out the door and did a long run I haven't achieved in ages.... JUST RUN.
Love the message. Just run!
I love that these videos come out on Sunday mornings before my long run. Currently my long run is just over 5k, since I have been having issues with my right leg. I scaled my running way back and am focusing on mobility and strength training. I’ve had to toss any plan of sessions, pace goals, distance goals, race plans, etc. Right now the goal is running without pain. It’s helping and I’m hoping to get my long runs back up to 10-15k in a few months.
Thank you so much for making this video, it was exactly what I needed after a month of almost no running due to injury ❤
Nice video. I am currently training for Manchester Marathon and trying to break a 20 min 5k. While both are amazing goals to aim for. I should not forget what running in general has done for my mental health and quality of life. This video is a reminder of that, so thank you.
I am about to head out on my 16 km long run this morning. Thank you for this video, it is exactly what I needed today.
Love these videos - wise words in Ben's relaxed voice and watching Mary's relaxed running. Just perfect 👌
I surf and also run a lot. I think the exact same thing about surfing and running. Thanks for inspiring and helping me with my running journey, I truely appreciate it. Marathon is next!
This is almost meditative, I enjoyed it a lot! Funny how the sound of the foot strike is always relaxing, it’s a fundamental sound of humanity in a way.
Amazing Vlog! So motivating and yet so simple. You two are so unique in the content you make. Keep you the great work!
I'm 45 and been running (in some capacity) for 20 years and I would say at least 50% of people who find out I'm a runner say "How are your knees holding up"? Always with that negative undertone (you known the one all too well). Like ya bud - you sit on the couch 8 hours a day and are 70 pounds overweight and you're worried about my knees? Such a double standard we have in our world. They can chuck judgment our way for being active but the moment we say "Hey, have you had any issues with all that fast food you eat?" We are being rude and inconsiderate. All we can do is smile, node, and go for a run:)
This is a video I will probably play once a week to keep myself centered on what I do it. To run and to enjoy running. Thank you both for making this.
I just wanted to say thank you Ben and Mary. I've been watching your videos for a while now and they help keep me going. Overweight and out of shape and have been running consistently (mostly) for over a year now. My wife and I have registered for our local 1/2 marathon in April. I'm fat and slow, but that doesn't matter....just run!
This video is this channel at its best. Keep up the great work and keep well.
This hits very close to home. For the first time in 6 years, I've been sidelined with an injury. And even though I still wallow in self-pity and jealousy when I see my friends on Strava running, I'm also rehabbing the shit out of my ankle and plotting my come-back weeks to get back to my previous form. I'm indeed doing anything I can to run again.
This was absolutely the thing I needed this Sunday. Keep making content like this once in a while. It's highly unique, and makes me think of Casey Neistat's motivational videos, but through an entirely different lens.
We can over complicate what it means to be a runner, or when defining what running is, or how to be a runner. I love how simple and direct this message is. Great video as always! In the meantime, I'll remember the "rules of running". Cheers!
Thank you Mary and Ben. This was just what I needed after two successive injuries and a mental health wobble to cap things off. What you said at 3:44 resonated hard, as someone who tends toward self-destructive habits when things are going badly. All the best!
Thanks Ben and Mary, have you been looking in my head? This is the philosophy I’ve been following for 40+ years. I’ve never really “trained” or followed any plan/guru/whatever. I just go out and run.
I really enjoyed this....We ARE indeed runners!
I could hear to this video while meditating 🧘 Ben, you have a magical voice 🙌
I love this video. I always hated running and I couldn't go for more than a couple of minutes. I had this friend who I really like but you know one of those people I can't even approach. One thing I thought was really neat about her is how much she runs. Regularly 10 miles and sometimes 20. One day I decided since I can't approach her maybe I could at least try and do something that I like about her. So I decided I would One day be able to run that 20 miles. I'm up to 7.5 miles in 1:15. Now it just feels good and I don't want to injure myself but I bet I could do 10 now.
I listen to this every morning! So motivating
Excellent change in videos. Very motivational because to keep it simple....... Just run. Its not hard. Cheers
Just for the joy of it. Always. Thank you for this one! ❤
Running around Gero in summer is a tad different to Bangkok isn't it?
Love your thought provoking videos. Plenty of RUclipsrs offer advice on different aspects of running, but no one else adopts the holistic approach you do. Keep it up!
Absolutely love this zen message!! 💕🏃🏼♀️
Thanks, I really needed this video. My journey has been quite challenging due to posture issues. But I'm beginning to pick things back up. No matter who you are. No matter how athletic. You can run.
Thank you for this video. It's so easy to get caught up in different things and lose sight of the joy that running can be.
Great messages and thanks for the inspiration! I watched a HM almost exactly a year ago and wondered if I could do it. I watched a lot of your videos, downloaded your 13 week plan and today ran a half in 1.56 at 49 years old and 95kg. I couldn’t be more pleased particularly as I’ve never thought of myself as a ‘runner’ and my last half was 20 years ago and 10 mins slower. It’s quite addictive.. next target sub 1.45!
❤love it. Running feels so primal, so true, and so right. Just Run! 🙏💪👉 🏃
Absolutely loved this video Ben & Mary! The message is so beautiful and spot on, thank you
Love the serenity of that video with awesome scenery. Great message too. Thanks Ben and Mary!
Wow, perfect timing. Having one of those weeks where I've been struggling and this clip was just what I needed today. Love the channel and what you guys do!
A wonderful watch before I go out on my Sunday run 😊
Excellent video and great message. Resonates with me currently as I battle through an annoying injury.
Love this style of video you put out every so often. So inspiring and calming, keep up.the amazing work you two!😊😊
Very timely advice for me. Thank you !
Great video! probably the best one. The no music approach is nice choice. Play this .5x this could be a video to put someone to sleep.
Love it , you guys need to write a book on your running adventures ❤
Locked into the numbers and paces of my marathon block, I made a mistake. I stayed on the road and ran with traffic instead of going into the grass. Car did not see me and hit me from behind. Fortunate to be here, but have to heal a sprained mcl. Need to keep bigger picture of being a runner for life. Thanks for the perspective!
get up, get out, and get it! I like that
Run!
Just what I needed today! Thanks!
happy i caught this right before going on my long run! love your inspirational videos!
Thank you for this great, motivational, and raison d’etre, video!
Beautiful vlog. So calm and beautiful spot for a run. Looks like somewhere in Australia maybe?
Thanks for another awesome video
Great video. Problem i see that improvement/ progress is only seen as faster times which isn't the case. I got wrapped up and lost interest because no matter what i did, long slow, fast intervals, fartlek..i could see no "mprovement- progress"i just run and don't monitor and love it.
Wow! Probably the most beautiful and mesmerizing video you guys have created!!!
Seeing this today, just after finishing my first ever full marathon, makes me really emotional 🥹💙
Thanks for all what you do to keep inspiring people across the world.
Cheers🙏🏻
Congrats on your first marathon! That's amazing!!
@@sneeuwpopje5523 thank you🙏🏻
What a fantastic video. Beautiful message!!!❤
I really like this video. I love that its not in your face. More inspirational tone poems from Messy Happy please!
In fact there are 2 golden rules :
1 - run
2 - repeat rule #1
Very good vidéo!
Perfect Pod cast voice
Nice upload! Help keep trail running free !
There’s definitely something I find very therapeutic about the sound of feet running on a trail path.. good vid.. but the sound of running and the meditation music made me wanna snooze and run, in equal measures. 😬👍🏼
Currently in the early weeks of my Marathon training so great to be reminded not to get bogged down in the technicalities.. Also, couldn't help noticing the amount of seemingly newish cycling infrastructure in the video, I also cycle (sorry) and in comparison to where I live in the UK it looked great!
Running is life
Great video. I run for me, I am competitive but more with myself and sometimes I use others to help motivate me but ultimately I just love to run.
Love all your videos. Thanks
I’ve missed these kinds of videos ❤
Thank you for this video! ❤
OMG... This vid has a Sir David attenborough vibe about it. ASMR to boot :)
So great video I’ll never forget I mean people meanwhile, when I first started running minimal shoes because they made me feel good. I had some people telling me that I have to go fully barefoot and I had some people telling me that I’m gonna break all my feet and I had to ignore them all and say why I just like running in these every once in a while it’s funny, but people do mean well, but many times we success, and anything is learning how to shut off outside voices good Video.
I enjoyed this video, and what you’re saying is so true. Thank you ❤❤
Powerful video. Love it. ❤️❤️
Why you gotta make me cry after my long run😂
Love all your videos and these are a great addition to your VLOG style videos. Always good advice; thanks guys!
Thank you 😊
Could fall asleep to your voice on videos like this.
Great video! Just what I needed to hear!
Great video! It got me pumped to run only problem is I’m listening to this video on my way to work 😢
Awesome video. I was having some anxiety during the runs over the grass 😂 but the narration was world class :) Super.
Ah los amo!! Epico el video!!!❤❤❤❤
Loved this video.
Just what I needed, thx!
Beautiful video, thank you ❤
Love it!
Great stuff. Well thought out and produced video. Will we see a running documentary one day? :-)
Been running a year, and currently marathon training, but this is pause for thought, without the goal & the plan am I a runner now? Will I run forever & for the joy if it? I hope so, certainly my goal for the marathon is to stay healthy & enjoying my running!
Jealous of your beautiful seaside run but I make the most of my urban exploration & today I ran to thr Tower of London
Love this video how true 😊🙏
