Incredible Model!!! I would love to see more videos in this more informational/tutorial style. From a learning perspective having you talk about the decisions your making, why your making them, and in turn seeing those take place visually on the model in real time is unbelievably helpful especially when it comes to learning the fundamentals and seeing how you've implemented a multitude of techniques to craft your own unique workflow.
Using draw sharp to outline features for later sculpting directly on the model is a great idea. I've always just "flowed" through the process and find myself checking back to reference too often. Well, To put it simply, Every software has its own areas of expertise, e.g Zbrush is preferred for sculpting, Substance painter for texturing, Houdini for Procedural Geometry and Simulations, And Marvelous Designer for cloth creation. You can google these to know more about them. So you can kinda imagine these softwares as masters in their own fields while Blender is an all-rounder pro who can do all this stuff but not good as the masters. Hence, Blender can be a good starting point for beginners to be exposed to various 3d operations without hopping back and forth on multiple softwares. Also, It's good for pros as well, As he mentioned, this is where you combine all the stuff and see your creation come alive. @@ritz9254 Well, I'm into drawing alot, so I figured learning atleast some basic 3D (e.g. for posing / light simulation and so) would help with that But honestly, the most intimidating part is the complexity of the programs - in Blender I barely got used to the basic camera movements when I tried it for a short time. Amazing result and was really interesting to see your workflow. Was is just due to it being a personal project that you didnt sculpt 1 hair then apply it to the others or save time mirroring over the patterns on the clothing? Still love your work and admire your mental strength spending that much time on the hair.
My main reason is more because I wanted every hair feels special and it's a personal project anyway. And for the body It's more because I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and sculpt it asymmetrycally from the start.
Wow! Holy smokes this is amazing. I must ask Yudit - was the sculpt that you brought into substance painter, was that retopo'd or decimated at all? Or was that literally just the raw sculpt?
Great stuff yudit....I'm also an aspiring character artist and your tutorials are very helpful on this journey.... One question do you work as a full time freelancer or in some studio...

Hi, amazing job! do you sell stl models? I would love to 3D print and paint this one!
Thanks! I'm very sorry, I don't sell any of my personal projects.
mano muito bom seus desenhos 3d
Thanks!
@@Yudit1999 ok thanks
Did you make a hair tutorial that is a bit more step-by-step?
I'm sorry, I don't have it.
Amazing work
Thank you!
Your concern came to life with Substance 3D, I can't even start the software without getting 2194719 errors (More Adobe I guess :p)
So far it's working fine to me. I hope you find an answer to your problem man.
As always amazing work
Thank you!
Hello , I really wanna know when you sculpting the hair , how can you keep the hair tips be sharp ?
It's all in the video man 😉
Did you bake the normals from the hisres sculpt in zbrush
Yeah man. I did bake it in Painter.
It's the sculpted mesh, but with lower subdivision level.
@@Yudit1999 Really!? So was it like dynameshed and all that? Or was it quads at that point?
Great stuff yudit....I'm also an aspiring character artist and your tutorials are very helpful on this journey....
One question do you work as a full time freelancer or in some studio...
Currently I'm still in college actually. So I only do freelance work. I did work in a game studio when I took a 6 months break from college.
@@Yudit1999 wow that's cool.... I also do freelance work and aspiring to be a stylized character artist
This is incredible! How are you working such a high poly mesh in blender? When I get above a million verts, my pc (which is quite good) starts slowing down a lot, if not crashing blender outright. I love the blender UI for sculpting quite a bit more than zbrush and would love to do more of the base mesh work in blender.
My machine is pretty average. But i can get up to 25 million in Blender with no problem actually.
@@Yudit1999 thanks for the reply Yudit. Really love your work. I'm trying to glean whatever I can from your videos. I'm working on a Henry Cavill likeness study that I've been doing in zbrush and am learning a lot. 😁 Looking forward to your future videos!
@@RandallLowetx That's awesome man! I would love to see the result when you finished it.
Absolutely beautiful!
Thank you!
what workflow did u use to export textures from substance to blender ?
Ummm... Just, export textures. That's about it really 😅
@@Yudit1999 ehhhm..... Idk if u're aware but substance painter doesn't work well with blender , u keep seeing seems appearing in blender which are not in substance viewport for exemple because of the opengl/cl normal map error etc thats why I'm asking , and ( just export them ) doesn't really help.... Great job though well done ...
@@TheShinyMooN the texture did need a bit of tweaking afterwards. But nothing much. I was fine with the normal map tho.. it's acting the same both in Blender and Substance. I was working with OpenGL in painter. If the normal is flipped after export I just reimport it in Painter, keep it OpenGL and re-exported it. And then it worked.
@@Yudit1999 NICE ! that's the explanation i needed :D thank you very much buddy
Great work on this sculpt. It came out looking amazing. I do have one question, for her clothing did you extract it and have it on a different subtool?
It's been 10 months, if I recall correctly I think it's one mesh but it has parts that are different layered details.
This looks amazing!!!
Thank you!
Hey man. Amazing model and super cool for sharing your process. I have one question though.
Do you think it's worth for someone who's learning to sculpt in Blender, to get any of the Zbrush Anatomy tutorials you mentioned? They seem really interesting but i'm wondering if it's really worth it or if it'll be more confusing. Thanks in advance!
Of course. I think it's so worth it. What you'll learn is not the technical stuff but the artistic stuff like how a torso should look, that kind of stuff.
@@Yudit1999 Thanks man. I might be getting one after all. Also, do you have any suggestions for a blender course for this type of sculpting?
do you sell full tutorial of character modeling workflow?
I'm looking for that too! This was incredible to watch but It would be really great to see a detailed workflow pipeline from you. Really amazing work. You're the hero blender deserves 👏
I'm sorry I don't have one. I'm gonna be honest tho. I don't have the dedication to do an indepth course since I just wanted to focus on my career as character artist.
@@Yudit1999 That's understandable. Keep up the good work. Excited to follow your upward trajectory :)
The hair looks amazing. What do you think of the blender hair system vs the curves though? Do you find this translate better for fictional characters?
It depends on the goal. I've done both, and i like them.
@@Yudit1999 Is this be animated? I notice it's not T-pose ready.
@@murrowboy it's not animated. The goal is to get myself more comfortable with non symmetrical sculpting because a lot of my work right now is for collectibles and it's always non symmetrical
@@Yudit1999 You got talent man. it's rare I find the 3d version look better than the 2d one.
22:00 Wouldnt it be better to just project a very high res face map?
Yeah, that's a valid approach too!
So... what you're saying is... "MORE HAIR" !!!! :P~
Love it, this turned out spectacular. Quick question - when you're doing something like this, why did you choose not to do legs? was it just to keep it in line with the original concept? or Time? or too much extrapolation? Just curious - (she'd be killer as a full figure.) Again, kudos!
Usually models like this are made for the final render, so It's pointless to add more work than what you are going to show.
Thanks! It's just a quick relaxing personal project. The camera isn't gonna see the rest of the body anyway. There's no point making it.
@@Yudit1999 - Thanks for the reply! As I mentioned, I was just curious. I get it.
can you write your reccomendations for anatomy study you mentioned? i didn't catch the name of the second one.

@@Yudit1999 thank you so much! Your art is super cool man!
i have Anatomy knowledge and spent about 4 years of my life drawing from paper to digital, if i start 3d will this knowledge help me on sculpting characters?
i always felt very frustated when trying to draw face features in 2d wich is the only body part that i cant draw properly even though i know the shape a human head, i learned all main muscles on the human body in 10 days, but like i said the only part i cant get right is the head.
That knowledge is gonna be a huge advantage in learning 3D for sure.
love this video. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching man!
Do you use the voxel remesher for this?
I don't know if you watch the video or not but I didn't use voxel remesher.
i love your work, i wanted to ask why would you rather sculpt in blender than zbrush?
I started learning 3D in Blender so it's much more comfortable to me i guess.
Man your work are awesome, wishing that one day I can archive something like this. Also could you please share how would you do polypaint for a character in ZBrush?
ruclips.net/video/DY5UorvNUEE/видео.html I did polypaint there 😉
@@Yudit1999 thanks man keep up the work!

Amazing, bro a question, What is your pc build? I have huge problems trying to sculpt in blender
It's just a usual machine, nothing wild. Blender is pretty optimized now. It can work for even with low end machine.
