Our boys are gonna approach this game like warriors... Because they are warriors... And they are our boys, our job is to support them no matter what...
Although our focus is on 2026, a win or draw here is essential to help us with our progression. That being said, getting a point off of Chile is as big or bigger than tying France in a friendly. Chile are on par with Mexico. IMO.
As much as Larin has been doing the little things right, I would still like see an alternative option to team up with David, a little young grinder who can punch a goal...
Canada will lose this game. They have shown some major flaws in the last 2 games: 1- they get caught alot on counters and lack experience to foul or stop the attack 2- their offense is very predictable, they really don't know what to do when they each the last 1/4...or they try the wing and try to beat 2-3 guys or cross- that's all they got. 3- They lack mid range shooting and midfielders seem to not know what to do there in the middle. Don't get me wrong aeustaquio is great at bringing the ball from their side 60% to the field, but the needs to have the other team guessing if there will be an attack in the middle/ filter a quick 1-2 shoot or shoot from outside the box. 4- air attack. Canada used to suck yrs ago, but they were excelent in the air, now it seems all dribbling and they really lack air attack, which is a benefit against South American teams. 5- it's just gonna be an ugly, rough game and the boys in Canada are used to sparring with soft gloves. This takes a toll on players the rough, dirty game. 6- Canada have shown to choke up when pressure is really there. I always remember when they choked up against Haiti at 2019 GC, against Jamaica for Copa Amarica Qual. and almost choked against T&T to qualify to this. When shit gets real, they don't know how to hold the ball and take control.
2 of those 'chokes' are on Milan. Borjan was a choker. I believe in these guys... But I have to admit, I'll be very skeptical going forward if we blow this opportunity, as well.
@gburbridge5966 crepeau is the only non-choaker here. If no red card, they would of choked against peru..actually almost choked the last game, God bless crepeau. Chile is gonna come hungry...and they are better than Peru.

Because they are a young, inexperienced team building for 2026. Games like this are meant to help them learn to deal with those deficiencies.

@@dannyk847Tough game for Canada, for sure. But why dismiss them before they've shown their mettle? This team is growing
