I was in college when Blazing Saddles came out - went with a group of friends to see it. No one had ever done anything like the campfire scene before. We must have laughed for 20 minutes straight. Absolutely hilarious.
Same effect on us. British schoolkids went to the cinema to see a double bill of Blazing Saddles and Holy Grail. I was going for the Python film, no idea what to expect from the genius that is Mel Brooks. I still recall the campfire scene - sliding off my seat in tears of laughter, unable to breathe, actually in pain from the laughing. And as the wonderful Leslie Nielsen said, you can't beat a fart gag.

The fart from "The last king of Scotland" (2006) was the longest in feature film history. Forrest Whitaker ate 4 cans of kidney beans for it!!! Man, what a scene that was, super comedy in a serious film, which could actually have been more in Sasha Baron Cohen's "The Dictator".
