I love this album, but they've made odd choices for the videos & singles. Shudder, Weak Fantasy, Yours Is An Empty Hope are all epic, powerful works that IMO would represent it better as a whole & maybe silence some of the annoying negativity going around. Hell, a fan made video for 'Greatest Show On Earth' is the best NW video I've seen this year. C'mon Nuclear Blast! Make vids that show the bands' strengths :)

This band surprises me everytime! The lyrics have a wonderful meaning and the video is focused on each Nightwish member. Ville Lipiainen makes always a great job.

There is more criticism on the Nuclear Blast hosted video than on the Nightwish hosted video. The reason for that is that a lot of fans from heavy metal bands, who don't really like this type of music, find it on the Nuclear Blast RUclips channel. If you ask people who actually like this type of music, the reaction is 99% positive. After all, they're the ones who buy the album and tickets.

It's actually a good place to converse with people who like the same music. The RUclips practice of floating the most commented threads to the top aids in the illusion that there are a lot of negative comments because they get more opposing traffic.

With the new album, I don't understand why Nightwish has not made a single/video for Weak Fantasy, which is one of the best songs of their career. It's pure, melodic and powerful heavy metal that can certainly attract both metal and rock fans. Elan, the first single, and this song don't even come close to it. I saw Nightwish live recently and Tuomas went absolutely insane (from a performance point of view) during Weak Fantasy, and the crowd went nuts too during the song! Also, why did the director of this video make Floor look so bizarre? She's such a charismatic, talented and powerful singer but is poorly portrayed on this video.
Agree about Weak Fantasy. Fantastic song, and definitely one of the top songs when we saw them in Dallas a few days ago. Floor kills it live!
dmometalguitar That's interesting to hear you say that - I actually consider it to be one of the weakest songs on the album and skip it in many listen-throughs. The acoustic guitar part in the second half of the song is really awesome, though!

I saw them back in April in Portland OR and it was absolutely amazing, Floor and the whole band blew me away.

They just look and sound like they're having SO much fun with this album! I'm so glad Tuomas got this chance to put his awesome composition skills to the test, and found a lead vocalist who can actually deliver his sound. (Also nice to hear Marco getting some spotlight on this album.) So good!! Many songs on this album bring me back to the old days, while simultaneously sounding new.

Love the video and the song. Anyone how has seen them in concert knows this song absolutely kicks ass live. In fact, to my ears and IMO, all of the Endless Forms Most Beautiful songs sound even better live. Saw them in Dallas and was absolutely floored how the songs, which I already loved off the album, sounded even better live.
People can complain about the makeup, lip syncing, fake instrument playing, even the cheesiness of the video, but I have to admit that this song and video make me happy and giddy inside lol

"Rendezvous" is quite commonly used in the English language. Almost half the words in English are French in origin but only a few (like rendezvous) have (mostly) remained in their original form.
It is not about "BEATING" anyone. Music is not about "SUPERIORITY" .
Band music is all about chemistry between the band members.
John Frusciante might not be the best or most technical guitarist alive but together with RHCP he made history. The same thing I was saying bout Tarja.

Tuomas is a genius.
Unlike a lot of people I really enjoy this. Not the best on the album, but definitely has it's own beauty and unique sound. And in terms of the video, it is quite good for a lyric video to me. Could almost have counted for a regular music video, but that might just be a bonus.
But from what has been shown at Wacken, Nightwish really shines on their live shows, which I see as almost more important.

Loved this song live, it really has some great energy to it. One of my favorites off the album. I see folks complaining about why this song or Elan were released as singles, why the "input" of fans is not listened to when it comes to what songs are released as singles/videos, etc. First, the last I recalled, these are songs written from an artistic place. If you don't like them, so be it, ultimately the band is going to proceed forward with what they want to do. Has worked just fine that way since the late 90's for them. Second, if you notice, this video was shot a while back, so no matter what some fans thought should or shouldn't be released as singles or videos, the band had a plan in place that Elan and the title track would be the first two singles. If you look, Floor does not have the Owl tattoo on her right arm in this video, like with Elan. Obviously this was shot a few months back. So they are going to scrap an already shot and finished video because some wanted a different song released as a single/video? Yeah right.
How long before Tuomas grows tired of Floor and kicks her out?

Bryon Lape I've grown tired of that kind of comments from people who don't bother to find out any info about what has happened before ex-vocalists were fired. Tuomas is not going to "kick out" anybody, he said in a Finnish talk show that those processes were very difficult and draining, sucking all energy, he and other band members don't want to go through it all any more. The reason for firing has never been "Tuomas growing tired", there has been the whole band behind the decision. The guys have made mistakes, that's true. But do you think the fired ones were only very nice, unselfish, cooperative and good in communication? I doubt. They were not even interested in the kind of music Nightwish plays in the first place. Floor is at home in Nightwish.

That's a good point that everyone doesn't think about. Neither of the two previous vocalists were metal fans. Floor has always been a metal fan, and a Nightwish fan. She understands the music better than the others.

No disrespect to the artists but it is one of the worst video clips i have seen and this style of video clips where the artists pretend to play music with random stuff on the background needs to stop , create a story based on the feelings of the song not this mockery.

I absolutely love EFMB. This song though is nothing very special compared to the others. I do like it though, It is a nice, catchy tune, so I guess just like Elan is good for a single. I was hoping for Shudder before the beautiful. Also it is a lyric video - for a lyric video is very good. And why do you have to shit on Floor's looks? I mean, yes she is tall but its' not her fault and no, she is not ugly-just the make up is a bit bad. And it's not her fault that she doesn't show all her vocal range-after all Tuomas tells her how to sing his songs. She is more powerful in other songs.

hmm...the most interesting part of the video is at 4:13 when Floor sits next Tuomas's piano and that funny moment at 4:28 when Holopainen relaxes his fingers :))..otherwise , kinda boring....I'm a little bit disappointed 'cause I was thinking of another song as a single ...like Shudder before the beautiful, Weak fantasy or Alpenglow....I like this one too....but I don't know...is like something is missing....anyway....I'm just glad to see them back. :)

First of all: Great song, great band and great album. When I first listened to it I needed to get used to some of the songs, but now I'm loving it. In all honesty: Fantastic work!
But here's the thing I really don't get about this video: You make a song about this wonderful world, which celebrates the grandeur of this planet, it's about Endless Forms Most Beautiful....- and yet here you are shooting a video in a factory (or at least with effects which look like a factory). Everything is grey, boring and really not enchanting at all. This doesn't make a lot of sense (to me!).
Even if the point were the gear-wheels which gear with each other perfectly, just like nature is a "perfect machine".....I still can't find a connection between the song and the video. I'm kinda sorry for that.....

Bland melody, weak, overwhelmed vocals, boring, repetitive riffs. Ah, well...The theme is good tho. But the melody tries to be a some kind of pop-rock song, something like Heart or Magnum, but its suffocated in obligatory riffs and unfitting instrumentation. It fails to be a good metal song and it fails to be a good pop song, while trying to be both. Not impressed at all.

Fuckyourselfgoogle It seems very obvious that since the genre isn't filled with band trying to imitate 1998 Nightwish that those days are gone. People want more now. This album is massively superior in sound, and use of instrumentation and vocals, than anything they've ever done. The mixing is a bit "m'eh" but that's just my opinion.

Nightwish should get the same production crew that Amaranthe used on their last album. That thing sounded great and charted much higher. Different genre so that may have something to do with it but seriously it's an amazing sounding album. Even their video for Digital World was incredible.
