This watch is a mystery for me.. it's so light weight and affordable that I think it's a duplicate.. but I bought it 5 years back and it still works perfectly..

My dad gifted this watch when I passed my 10th exam, in year 2001. I am still using it, belt was changed 5 times.

@@redsea3382 yes, its still working. Even after almost 24 years now. 3 main problems - bezel n paint goes over the period of time, leather strap will go in 3 years, due to sweat n etc. their push buttons gets jammmed, you have to service it after few years.

I bought this watch before 4 years from flipkart for INR1,600. I didn't receive any manual or the QR behind the back. The watch was very light weighted. All these made me think that it's a fake watch and will not last long. But trust me it still works perfectly fine without even a small issue over these years. Made me believe that it's an original watch, maybe they forgot to add the manual and warranty card with it.

I also recently bought this watch from Flipkart, like you said I also not got the instruction manual in the box, but the QR code sticker was there on the back, and by scanning it I confirmed that it is original. This is one of the few Timex models made for the Indian market the watch is made in the Timex factory in India and most Timex watches are made in the Timex factory in the Philippines
Under 2000 this is better than many ....but dial size is small

I had been using this watch for past 6 years it's good no issue once changed the cell after 3 years. The only thing I felt negative with this watch is dial size is small 🙂.

I saw this watch in wisden magazine's ad in 2000. Kapil dev was endorsing it. Such a cool watch it is. I have this since 2013 and its working perfectly fine. The only concern is the dial size. Its a bit small. Otherwise a brilliant watch

I have been keeping an eye on the price for the last 7,8 months and bought it few days ago. This watch looks good, has excellent utility features, has a small dial(I have a skinny wrist), is a classic retro watch, once used to be Indian army's standard issue and many more such features. Although it is only available on flipkart, I feel Timex should redesign and relaunch this watch at a really good price and it will take just few days to take over.

@@subisam-cj9pz It is still listed on flipkart but is out of stock. Keep checking daily. The seller brings up limited stocks and the rest of the time it stays out of stock. Also one advice, do not buy on the basis of colour options provided for us to choose, buy on the basis of what colour the watch in the pictures and you will receive that colour irrespective of what options are chosen in colours.

I had this watch for 3 years but recently let it go, cause it was just collecting dust in the box. Very accurate time keeping, light weight, retro styling, Indiglo, lume on all 3 hands, rotating bezel - the watch is packed. I might get another Timex Expedition in the future, preferebly with a steel case and 100 metre resistance.

I have been using this watch for a year and would like to share my observations:
1. The watch lacks durability as the glass on top is prone to crashes easily.
2. The leather strap is not durable and tends to get damaged with daily use. Additionally, the cost of a replacement strap is high.
3. The indiglo feature has a defect that causes a shadow on the 10 marker of the dial.
In summary, the watch has an attractive design but falls short in terms of durability.
As an long time user of this watch, I agree to your first two points. But the third point relating to that shadow like shade of indiglo feature near the 10 marker is actually a product marking for this watch. It's there every watch and it's not a performance issue.

I have been using this watch for the last 12 years, then I might have bought it for around ₹ 1300. Even today it looks great when worn.

This is my most favourite one. Bought in 2013. Still accompanying me but now all roughud up. Currently using black nato strap with it. Looking for exact same but unable to find one. Really helpful if anyone knows where I can purchase one or some one who can restore it. Lots of memories with it.

I would say spending high at once is not the right thing to do, start with 10k Vostok and get it through Vostok24 website, then slowly move towards a Orient bambino then to a Seiko Presage or Seiko SSK, dont go for swiss as they dont have resale value, quartz are not worth it if budget is more than 10k
