I love pg8. I keep buying White Night's version. It reminds me of a rich Hooker's green.

Wow Mina. So good to have you join the online watercolour community. I followed you for years on your knitting channel. Watched your baby grow up and also all the moves. Moving is definitely stressful. I hope you get to settle down proper now. I've hung up knitting needles for art and it's been so good for my headspace. Lol. Talking to you like I know you. Defs subscribed.

I find purples are some of the easiest mixes you can create on your own, at least I did, experimenting and mixing small amounts from the tubes that I had. If I can recall exactly, I think I liked mauve (W&N) mixed with cobalt turquoise and cobalt green dark mixed with rose madder.. one of these I dulled down with PBk11.. You can give it a try with all kinds of blues and greens and reds. I love your color palette! Lunar Earth is the one I now long for ))

You’re a girl after my own heart and love paints! Do get lunar blue by DS; it’s gorgeous. What you’re doing is great fun; watercoloring is so rewarding. Yes, I’d love to know about your move. Thanks for sharing.

Art haul and swatching? The best kind of video! Thank you for sharing.
I'm wondering if for the purpurite, you could mix perylene violet with a low-tinting, high-granulating neutral pigment. (I initially thought Tigers Eye Genuine, but that defeats the purpose, huh?) Maybe with a bit of quin violet mixed in. Ooh, now I'm going to have to experiment!

oh interesting ideas I'll have to try some of those combos out to see!

Hi, I really love this colour choice!
For the purpurite DS colour, try to look into the dusk pink by Rembrandt. It looks pretty similar.

I have that colour and its similar in granulation but not in colour ... maybe I could try addiing a different colour to it to adjust the hue

PS. We have just bought a house and updating/remodeling during the move and it’s VERY stressful!! I’m 63 and I can’t believe how hard it is. Oh! It’s so much more complicated in US. I was so tired and frustrated at the house closing I actually cried….lol. Granted…they owed us $5000. I’d found $3000 couple days prior and a $2000 error the day before. They didn’t know how to refund the $3000 and couldn’t understand the $2000???!!!! When I finally got them to understand they said they would have to figure out how to refund us later. That’s when tears just started rolling down. I did ask for something in writing saying we’d overpaid!!!
That’s how the entire 3 month process was for us. I’m praying you didn’t have to go through that!!
Yes! Definitely stressful buying, remodeling and moving!! I told my husband we’d better finish quickly so can enjoy for a few years….lol😊
We aren’t spring chickens and I DO want to garden and set up my craft room inside and the studio outside.
    Thank you for your videos!!
I’m not sure why I am telling you all of this?? I guess because you seem very kind and we live in small community so I don’t want to say anything bad about anyone. They are really nice . Just weren’t doing their jobs very well. Thank goodness I was very good friends with the only realtor town had for 50 years. They’d moved but he and his wife were helping us tremendously!!!
Thank you for letting me tell you about our move!!

I just ordered a sketchbook because we’re packing to move as well and I got a little too efficient packing up my paper and blank sketchbooks leaving me with very little. I don’t want to start opening up boxes. That’s my excuse.

The Purpurite probably has in it mostly just Quin Violet. Check the Old Holland "Scheveningen Violet" for a close match on the color (not on granulation though).

really who cares if there's no actual minerals in them is my thoughts on the matter i wonder if they'll discontinue them all or just rebrand them

    • @MinaDoesArtStuff
      @MinaDoesArtStuff  3 года назад +1

I guess its the lying about it part that doesnt sit well with me ... I dont care if they dont have minerals in them either just dont say they do when they dont. Its pretty simple really.

  • @nafordebi

i seriously don't cate about the permatec nit having the minerals in it if i like the colors which i do i will and intend to continue to use them i don't see the huge deal everyone's maki g over this a

Thats fine if it doesnt bother you but I think ulitmately the biggest reason why people are upset is because Daniel Smith are lying about what is in their paints and that is False Advertising and falsely claiming your product is something that it isn't. Its like someone saying a burger is vegetarian but actually turns out not to be. Its just wrong!

  • @nafordebi

was going to say who cares if the primatek has minerals or not but apparently i already did but i guess being a you tuber u ha e to watch what u use but i could care less lol
