@@studio.spirit oh quite understandable, in any case thanks for this super long video haul. I also love the hour long gouache comparison you did! It wasn't only informative but also the perfect combination while I was relaxing with some tea.
@@studio.spirit same here. I’ve got my own collection of art supplies and would still be buying if it weren’t for having to explain said purchases and the necessity of them to my partner so no judgement from me. Still keep my eyes on the sales though. My excuse is, supplied will only get dearer, so you may as well invest now. That bounty will keep you entertained all year 😆
Just stumbled across this video in my recommended list, and it's always fun to watch a nice art haul. I know it's been out a few months, but wanted to throw out a couple pointers for if you buy more watercolors. Since you're looking for granulating colors, the pigment used to make the color is the main thing to pay attention to. For instance, true viridian is PG18, and will be granulating no matter what brand (though, pay attention to the pigment number, since some brands don't use accurate names). The Schmincke super granulating paints are just mixtures of different granulating pigments. So, you could actually buy just the individual pigments and mix almost anything in that line with just a few tubes. The same goes for other brands, too. The Primateks from Daniel Smith do have several nice granulating colors, but there are also more in the main line that aren't made from or based on minerals. You did it right by getting the dot charts to try out. As to the cost difference between the watercolor and acrylic charts-- the acrylic one just gives you an idea of what the color actually looks like, but it isn't usable. Watercolor can go a long way with very little, so those charts give enough to not only swatch the colors, but also try it on different papers, get a feel for how the different pigments behave, test color mixes, and even paint small pictures. Hope you're enjoying all your new supplies!
Great haul! I know you said you're keeping the Schmincke in the tubes, but FYI if you do decide to put them in watercolor pans, Schmincke is THE most satisfying pour you will ever experience. Just melts into the pan. It's beautiful. I'm starting to also fall in the love with the SoFlat. Can't wait to see the comparison between that and Liquitex because I have a lot of both. Always nice to see someone else's experience.
Thank you for watching, I have just finished filming the comparison so that will be uploaded this Friday 13th of all days lol. It would be interesting to know what you think of them?
I love that Golden acrylic hand painted swatch sheet. I love the open colours and would love to try the flat colours. It would be great to see how the flat colours work out on the Rembrandt blue tinted paper. Also to see how the Jackson’s acrylic paper works with water colour. Nice haul….
Thank you for watching, never thought about trying the blue paper with the so flats, I got it mainly for pastel pencils. But can't see why not use it with the so flats too. The Jacksons Acrylic paper acts like a hot pressed watercolour paper already tried that I don't mind it, but as am starting to use watercolour more I find I do like a really textured paper so tend to lean towards the roughest surface.
@@studio.spirit you might really like this paper then. As a full sheet it looks a bit wavy, but when cut down and wet it dries very dimensionally stable and if dried well between washes takes layering very well. www.jacksonsart.com/en-us/jacksons-eco-papers-sheets
Great haul! Can't wait to see more on the SoFlat paints. I got one color to see if I'd like them (naphthol pink) and I fell in love with it. I have so many other acrylic paints (including my favorite Holbein Acryla Gouache) and now I want these too 🙈 The struggle is real! 😭😅
Don't know what was going on with this video, you were talking but your hands was frozen in some places and the camera angle kept changing to the side but you couldn't see the items, I think you should keep to one camera angle as it was quite annoying but loved all the goodies!!!! Have subscribed
Hi thanks for watching, sometimes the files get corrupted transferring from camera to computer so I do my best with the editing to make up for lost footage.
I must say I really like the box of the legion box of small travel sketch book could you tell me how much it was as I'd like to purchase the box of them just to try different types also thank you for this video, I've been persuring artist art haul to see different types of art supplies and I must say when you pulled out the very small sketch books I was like yes that's what I was looking for plus sharpeners so many artist show pencils but I've only seen one artist show two different sharpeners to try out...and if you draw alot some how sharpeners are something that seem to break often I've had to Google search why sharpners break down so easy.....lol it's due to the viscous of the colored pencils shards g humming up the inner working on the hand cranks ....mikelle ny mom🎨👩🎨
Hi Marc, thank you for watching glad you enjoyed the haul, I myself love watching other art hauls and reviews I do find they help a lot. When I purchased the Legion set it was £16.50p, must say I only have a couple of the black ones left.
Buying myself the full set of caran d ache museum aquarelle for Xmas present fo me from me , have both sets of inktense, blocks and pencils apparently I ha e full set syndrome lol
not sure if in the hl you can get the art snacks subscription boxes but they ha e a ton of products up for aale i got 4 sets of QOR WATERCOLORS THERES 6 sets i think come with 5-5 tubes each 24& plus free princeton brush with them and a whole bunch of other items this will be a great addition to my set have 25 tubes but only 14 colors couple duplicates but that is ok i love thwm
Yeah I had them in the past but by the time you pay shipping and customs not worth it plus a lot of the stuff the America’s get that’s considered expensive is cheaper here, but what’s cheap for you is expensive here.
@@studio.spirit it's really too bad but then i'm uber envious u over there have jackson's and choosing keeping would love to see more obscure stationary store products, i'm learning all about gouache now i'm loving it so far i love the matte colors but i said already lol i'm glad i found your channel and thank you for responding so quickly! shows u care
I will be doing all the schmincke paints I have in an etcher sketchbook next. So either this coming Friday (19th Nov) or the following Friday depends on when I can edit it as you can imagine it will be a long one but hopefully enjoyable, I love a good swatch video.
Your long videos are a true bliss! I live vicariously through your art haul, please do more in the future!💗
Thank you! I will try but trying to save pennies this year.

You must’ve spent at least £500! Ah, to have that to spend on delicious art supplies 😋
Well, my rationale (excuse) is I don't smoke or drink and I don't have kids so all my money goes on books and art supplies lol 😜😀

Great haul! Would love to see the forest palette at work. Looks like fun! 😁
Hoping to do a video for each set and painting for each just thinking of inspiration for each.

What a fantastic haul, the flat paint looks so good. I'm definitely going to go check Jackson's out. I gather their customer service is top notch?

i just bought 2 different matte mediums for acrylics love using them hate the glazed shiny look
Yeah and the brush stokes that acrylics leave 😠 I like to able to grab and use without having to mix etc.
o have the pan version on the caran d'ache gouache it is incredible if they had other sets jthey would be mine
I have those too, I’ll be doing two videos with them soon as the are funky fun 🤩
Watercolor on yuppo?! That’s… silly.
it is actually kinda funky, but it is better with alcohol inks.
your sound is low and not clear
I just checked it seems fine to me, am not a high pitched, over hyped person anyway. I don't know what else to say lol Turn the volume up?
