1. *Better main characters* even though the number of characters was lesser but main characters like Mr. Yagami, L Lawliet and especially the protagonist Light Yagami (I bet you'll never find that many of such complex characters like Light Yagami in anime).
2. *Philosophical and Psychological aspects*

I have watched all of them except last one.
I would not recommend attack on titan (AOT) for any new anime watchers because it sets the expectations for every other anime too damn high. AOT has set a benchmark that only very few can match.
Start with something else like Naruto, One piece and then start AOT. It'll definitely open a whole new anime universe for new beginners
