@Tyler Vincent another Kobe nut hugger who discredits Shaq. Lol 600? Where's the proof? And lower body strength doesn't count? Shaq would simply overpower Wilt. There's been other centers in the game with Wilt's built but none like Shaq. Your boy Kobe was 2nd fiddle to Shaq in those 3peats. Just accept that fact. No amount of revisionist history will change that. Anyone who watched those teams knows that.
@Tyler Vincent It's interesting how you claim Shaq was overrated because he mainly dominated smaller players, meanwhile, you offer praises to Wilt, a man who was dominant in an era that mainly consisted of centers that were 6' 7" or less. His only competition during that period was Russell, and with Russell winning 11 championships, Wilt CLEARLY lost that matchup. So much for his dominance.
Official Vladimir you could tell dikembe was frustrated after that cuz he knew he couldn’t do anything to stop shaq. Dikembe was even DPOY that year, but shaq was just unstoppable at that time.

Watching today’s NBA makes me miss big men. I’m not a huge fan of today’s positionless basketball full of outside shooting. I want to see more back to the basket stuff, fighting for rebounds etc.
Yes cause watching a guy dunk the whole night with little resistance is so much more fun than watching players rain the 3 from outside. Something that actually takes practice to perfect.
the sad and hard truth is, the current way is more effective. it’s not that teams dont want to play defense and big man anymore, it’s just that they would be shot to death.
I met Shaq, and I'm 6'5". When we shook hands, he was shaking my arm halfway to my elbow. No wonder he missed ft's. It's like a normal person shooting w a tennis ball.
Shaq was impressive when he was young and agile in Orlando. When he got older, he ended up running people over, instead of scoring with skill and quickness.
Cuz he stopped trying. Kobe was in the gym working 10 hours every day and Shaq was on the beach sipping drinks. His mindset was: I don't to practice dunkin' but had he put in the effort he would've probably won 6 rings or his ego would've made his head explode haha that's a 50/50
He was probably the strongest player of his era, but he definitely committed a lot of uncalled offensive fouls. When a defender has stationary position, and an offensive player uses brute force to displace them from that position, that's pretty much the definition of an offensive foul. Shaq did that many times per game.
Hoop integrity/technology was greatly enhanced because Shaq... hoops no longer break at the joints and glass no longer shatters. I actually kind of miss those days!
Speedy of the North obviously not the league has changed dramatically with primary skills being 3 pointers however back then it was posting up back against the backboard and feed the big man
