I've been listening to your podcast for a while now, and its nice to see you're on RUclips too and I can put faces to the voices:) Thanks for what you do! New sub here
Thank you for covering urea! I discovered a couple years ago that my skin really just loves loves loves urea. And yes, I do have dry skin. :D I wish there were more urea containing products for the face on the market.
I enjoyed this episode very much! I don’t see much talk around urea, especially with research. I’ve been using the Prequel urea lotion for face and body and I like it a lot.
You ladies mentioned 2 to 10% for Urea as a hydrator, but does that make any difference in terms of tolerance? For the face, should I look for the smaller percentages or should it be fine using the same 10% urea lotion for the face and body? Thanks!
generally speaking 2% to 10% is still fine for face if you don't have sensitive skin. At this level it shouldn't be too much even if you do have a solid AHA in your routine already. But if you're sensitive - patch test for a few days before proceeding!
haha nothing wrong with sweet almond oil per se. It's just not my favorite ingredient. For a couple of years in my career, it was that basic oil that gets added to EVERYTHING, touted as some sort of miracle ingredient in marketing lingo, and I got really sick of it 😅😅
How does urea compare to lactic acid instead of glycolic acid which is irritating. I think lactic is better urea doesn’t do anything for lightening brightening thickening skin anti aging wrinkles
there isn't anything that directly compares urea with lactic acid. but we do have lactic vs glycolic comparisons. Generally speaking, lactic at 2% to ~7% is great for hydration and gentle exfoliation in a daily leave on lotion
Urea was suggested by my derm for my dry, cracked fingers from hands taking a beating . Really helpful. I appreciate all your info, except for the talk and giggles about animal testing, I just listened to the ginseng episode before this.
hmm point taken. Animal testing is a bit of a complex topic and unavoidable if you look into older studies or more academia-based studies. We weren't trying to be disrespectful - but we'll definitely rethink how we talk about and share data involving animal studies going forward. Thanks for your feedback!
That was awesome! really well done video

Great video, thanks guys! Would you make one talking about panthenol and how it compares to the others?
yes! we love panthenol and it definitely doesn't get talked about enough
