Omg…I can’t…let the man speak!
Thanks for introducing us to some of the vendors while they were still happy.
first time watching you both, don't know who is who, but does the fella with the beard ever get a word in
They need to have a Big cup of water ans drink it.
I’d love to listen to this recap but it’s somewhat difficult with the interruptions so it makes the flow hard to follow.
I'm really sorry that I couldn't finish watching this. The guy in the checked shirt interrupted too much for me to actually follow the story.
Oh and of course what a simply marvellous outfit …. Creative, clever and enchanting.❤
Love when [Chris] you pick up the sock and knit...lol.
I needed a calming coping skill by that point so I can't imagine the need he had for one!! Has to be frustrating to be interrupted so often.
I would like to hear what Christopher has to say please 🙏
😂😂😂 it was liking watching someone try to herd cats! ❤❤❤
Agree
Jamie!!! You will look fabulous in that pink!!
So sad that Wool and Folk was quite the disaster. Sometimes there are just too many things to control. I think Jamie needs his coffee though! 😀😁
I think the look on Christopher’s face says it all.
Thanks Meryle
Another great episode, and thanks for introducing me to more cool designers and also Knit The Rainbow! ❤
My choo choo brain train was very slow chugging into Cerebral Station: I finally realized who BleuBelle is in the final minute of the broadcast and then all the jokes fell into place. Tres Adorable et magnifique…!!!
Such fun and so many wonderful moments in your discussions and the interviews. Makes me want to go to Rhinebeck next year.
Love to you both,
Janet in Alberta
Grace Jones! Respect.
It was amazing meeting you both. I never made it upstairs 😢. I truly didn't have a great time because of the situation. But it wS amazing watching the people come together to help each other.
I though it was Captain Planet. I'd love to see the full painting 😊
Enjoyed your talk about everything that happened, great footage as well, your podcast is so fun and cozy 😄
I could listen to you both forever! I love your energy. And I think you have given a very accurate description of w&f as I was there, I had a great time last year, this year was quite disappointing and difficult to say the least for vendors.
Thank you so much!
Ok, I can’t
The lovely ladies from the UK wow what a far trip!! I can’t imagine how difficult that was for them to be out in the rain
Dudes, I just love your content. Your podcast always feels so cozy. I love listening to you two. Thanks for everything you do 💜
Thanks so much!
I am so excited that you went back to buy the pink yarn!!!! You are going to look fabulous in that cardigan!!! I am also fangirling that I am part of the footage in the podcast!!! I didn't even realise at the time that Christopher was recording 😂 merci pour les belles jasettes!
....lol he's on good pain meds isn't he?
Thank you so much for your Rhinebeck recap. I really enjoyed your interviews with the vendors and wish you could have interviewed them all!! I am doing my best to help the vendors by purchasing online from them. I agree...Toni is awesome!!! I have gone to Rhinebeck several times and was having FOMO. I hope to attend again next year! Thanks again!
Nadine, you are very welcome.
Christopher, I love your Nightclubbing t shirt!
Thanks Ken
love the episode! It was my first time flying across the country to attend the iconic Rhinebect and Wool & Folk. What an adventure. Thankful for Lewis who was part of my tour, he was awesome. Enjoyed seeing Blue Bell at NYSW.
I love the shirt on Jamie it looks really good on him.
The pink jacket is fabulous !!! ❤❤❤
I agree I love it
Always a pleasure to hear your take on all the festivities and wool fun.
Thank you once again for your comment. I hope you are having a great fall.
It was great meeting you two (three! Camera man) at Rhinebeck/NY Sheep&Wool! Oh wait, that wasn't Jamie.... It's funny how you say you love to talk but I think I babbled so much neither of you had a chance to speak 😂 I am sure that I was high on yarn fumes by then (festival newbie, was). Thanks for your coverage of the events and thoughts on being a vendor.
Jessica, it was very nice meeting you.
Best recap video!
Thanks Carla
That is a fabulous tutu! Glad the trip had some great highlights amongst the not so great moments.
He did a great job on the Tutu. Thanks for commenting.
JAMIE. STOP. TALKING. Let Christopher speak, please!!! 😂 I’m kidding, I’m kidding. Really though. Excellent recap! Love both of you and I usually am a “silent” fan, but I had to comment this time as this weekend has garnered SUCH a response. How disappointing - not your recap; NYSW. Thank you for an EXCELLENT recap. You’re both wonderful 🫶🏻☺️🧶. Hugs from Ohio. Lisa
I’m not kidding, it’s so disrespectful and all I wanted was to hear Christopher speak about this very important topic.
I have to give Christopher so much credit for not losing his s*it because of the constant interruptions with unnecessary content.
I wanted to reach through the screen and cover Jamie's mouth with duck tape. It was actually excruciating to listen to this episode because of Jamie's behavior.
@@lauriew6623 I feel sad for vendors who lost thousands of dollars, I feel sad for the disabled person who wasn’t even able to used a purchased ticket because of the lack of accessibility and the dangerous crowd size. I do not care to hear Jamie talking pointlessly about himself, and his jobs and what’s he used to do….it was insanely tone deaf and infuriating!! He even made an ablest joke about it “only being 5 flights of stairs”. Seriously read the room, it was gross that he just rambled on and on when Christopher was trying to ask him to come back to topic so he could shine the spotlight on how horrific these vendors were treated!!
I’ve tried listening to their channel in the past, but stopped because of Jamie’s constant interruptions. I was hoping this one would be different, but I had to turn it off. Sorry guys. I would have liked to hear Christopher finish a thought, or at least a sentence.
😢 I remember now why I can’t watch you guys. It’s so hard to follow the story when Jamie keeps interrupting you which is so disrespectful and frustrating. I’m a fellow Canadian and want to continue following and supporting you but it’s way too triggering for me. I’m sorry Jamie doesn’t let you speak Christopher, I wish you would speak up for yourself cause I’d really love to hear you speak. It’s just sad really. Jamie, you need to learn impulse control.
Love the dyed tails on Blue Belle's skirt! As well as Jamie's grey gansey! Someday I will travel to NY for Rhinebeck, but it is a long journey from Alaska. I've spent many a cold rainy day selling yarn here at our Farmer's Market, so I feel for the vendors. Thanks for another wonderful podcast!
You are very welcome. Sending hugs from the Cabin (no snow yet)
Hi, Great show as always.Just a note we have Wensleydale in Nova Scotia-,Dover Farms who I think came a few years ago from Ontario, beautiful fleece's
Donna, thanks for letting us know.
I love your recap of Rhinebeck. I’m a new subscriber but I’m loving you guys. I love how I was able to look up and purchase some yarns from the different vendors that attended the festival. Looking forward to learning a lot from you all. I’m a crocheter but I’ve just purchase my first set of knitting needles to learn that as well. I’ll be binge watching you all for a while. Great work!
Imani, thank you so much. I will be picking up a crochet hook this year. Happy knitting.
Your logo never gets old. It's so well designed and perfectly descriptive. Good to hear your take on the woolly weekend and even better to hear about podcasters helping the vendors who lost money or just broke even.
Thank you
This was great, thank you so much guys, I laughed a lot and learned a lot. Kindly, Judy
Thanks Judy
Thanks for the great recap episode! ❤I love the pink yarn Jamie and I can’t wait to see the FO!
Thanks Ellen
Loved your recap.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I ordered from Botanical because they came all the way from the UK and were so sweet even in their disappointment!
Thanks Cindy
I was honored to meet you last year at NYS S/W I live within driving distance to Rhinebeck and the Hudson Valley region. I volunteered at Indie Untangled Friday morning and of course that entities you to free entry. It was great. Then news about W&F started to trickle in. Believe me I feel bad for the vendors that got cheated out of sales but what about the patrons that paid an entry fee of $55.00 and were not able to maneuver there. It'll be curious to see if the event continues
Marie, we will have to make sure we get to Indie Untangled next year.
Loved your description of the logistics of managing a huge trade show! Haven't been in your shoes: I have been in the hall setting up a manufacturer's booth at international car shows and I spent years organizing group tours across the continent. Events of that magnitude are amazing - and something WILL go sideways. As organizers, don't tell me what went wrong, I already know. Tell me how to make next year's event better.
Belle!!! Brava!!!
Ummm didn't a certain someone promise to wear his Cowichan style jacket at Rhinebeck?? Hmmm? I still haven't seen it in all its finished glory. Wink wink nudge nudge...
I did, however it is still a WIP. I have to get it finished. Thank you for the reminder.
It’s better if BOTH guys had had an edible when it comes to keeping up with each other in amount of talking. I enjoyed hearing about your recap☺️
Thanks for a great podcast! And I’m glad to know that the knitting community is reaching out to help the vendors that had a difficult time at Woo&Folk. But you need to know that Rhinebeck is NOT the end of the festival season..... the absolute BEST festival was the Frederick FiberFest (in Frederick MD on October 28th). It was well organized, spacious and completely indoors in large fairground buildings. They also had lists of Wool&Folk vendors posted- many of them were there. I hope you will consider it in 2024.
Kathy, thanks for the information on the Frederick FiberFest.
This review would of been great before I arrived 😂 I missed a lot at wool and folk!
Can you list the vendors from Wool and Folk you interviewed? I'd like to purchase some yarn-especiallly from the last natural dyer
Thank you for reminding me. I will get to it this week. Cheers
Knitting Witch has the list.
Hi, Christopher and Jamie. Thanks for sharing Rheinbeck 2023! Bluebell Bijou was a big hit. You are such a good sport, Jamie.
Thanks Carol
Did Foreland (and possibly local public safety) have any responsibility to vet the Wool & Folk proposal ?
I would think so, however I don't know what the rules are in that jurisdiction.
Who was the wool and folk sticker vendor please??
Hello! I have never been to Wool and Folk. As a person who would like to attend NY Sheep and Wool someday, I watch several podcasts on the subject. However, I’ve not heard anyone speak about why floors 2-4 were not available for vendor booths at this year’s Wool and Folk. Was the host expecting to have access to those floors? Is this possibly a factor in why the event did not live up to vendor and customer expectations? Just curious. I love you channel. All my best to you both.
Bonjour Jamie and Christopher,
Greetings from Laval, Québec
Thank you for giving your take on the events at Wool & Folk and NY Sheep & Wool.
As always,, watching you while knitting is a two for one pleasure.
Looking forward to seeing footage of your scottish adventures in the near future, and maybe seeing you again at "Les tricoteuses du quartier" .
Take care,
Isabelle
PS: What is the name of the gorgeous pullover that you wear on Sunday, Jamie?
You were missed at Cake! We had an awesome show despite Mother Natures wrath.
I will make a point of visiting Cake next year. Thanks Julie
I appreciate your perspectives on the events! (Just a heads up, I can hardly hear Jamie at all. It looks like he is really passionate about what he is saying, but his voice is so soft. Maybe he needs another microphone?)
Thanks Sara, I will look into it.
Hi Jamie and Christopher!
It's ok Jamie...good to hear you both❤
Just when I thought I had seen every Rhinebeck etc. videos........there's yours!!! Thank you for sharing! Did you eat Mexican to clear out the building? 😁😂🤣 I didn't get to the festivities but I spent just as much through all these videos! I did very well. I stayed warm and dry but I have to wait for my goodies to send! The vendors at this venue looked so awesome. It is so sad there were problems. They are going to need a gigantic iron but I hope they can iron the problems out for the future. Tell me one thing.....how did you get out of there without a UHaul truck? Oh those yarns!....and I will leave it at that! ♥️😁😉🧶♥️
Jane, thank you for the morning smile.
You're welcome!
I can't hear what the person on the left is saying at all. I'm glad for the subtitles, but now I can't listen while knitting like I had planned to do.
Hi Guys (and say hi to Devin also)! Yes, lots to unpack on Wool & Folk. Thanks so much for the shout out for the band and for the amazing Colin Smith! He's got a private concert coming up this week in NYC. But do make sure to keep Monday Jan 29th free (after VKL weekend). We'll go see him and the full band perform. It will not disappoint!
Enjoyed your recap, but please don't use "well-spoken" when you refer to black people. Do you say that when you describe others?
Sonya, thank you so much for your feedback. I appreciate the call-out. As an introvert I have always admired and have commented on people who have the ability to own a stage and who can clearly articulate their thoughts regardless of their ability, colour, race, gender or sexuality. While my comment was coming from a place of awe and admiration, the last thing I intended to do was to have this comment turn into a trigger. Thanks again for your feedback and I wish you and your family a great 2024.
Your Rhinebeck recap was wonderful, the good, the bad and the wool! Jamie I love when you give a bit of history specially when you talk about about the significance of the color pink. As the mother of the most wonderful gay son, we can not forget the past, never!🩷
Thank you so much. It sounds like your son has a wonderful mother.
Thank you for a wonderful recap! You would have loved Indieuntangled and Cakepalooza…both were excellent! I went to Wool & Folk and was terribly disappointed…😣. Loved getting to meet you on the hill…thank you for all you give to the fiber community…🤗🧶💗
Pat, it was nice meeting you as well. Thank you for watching.
