- Lev Parnas, the Soviet-born businessman whose work in Ukraine with President Donald Trump's personal attorney Rudy Giuliani, described two occasions on which he delivered messages to Ukrainians that amounted to quid pro quos, demanding the announcement of an investigation into Biden and his son Hunter Biden in exchange for benefits from the White House.

Parnas wasn't a thug. He came to the US at the age of three, went to college, got a job selling condos for the Trump Organization, became a private real estate investor, then a Trump contributor. He may have sold condos to thugs (Trump's son said "a lot of our money comes from the Russians"), and he may have done illegal things the last few years, but its not like he was shaking down businesses for the mob. The main reason he was working for Giuliani is he speaks Russian and Ukrainian, and he was a known person in Trump's orbit.
