This is beautiful and easy to follow by being able to clearly see what was being done. Athough im a beginner-only started to crochet a year ago,I'll be giving this a try. Thankyou for sharing.
Thankyou for your explanation. I'm a medium beginner and was slightly confused by what was being done as opposed to what was written. It is beautiful though and I'll definitely be giving it a try.
I love this pattern and I started a baby blanket today, using this. I wonder, though if the stitch count at the beginning is correct (7+7+7...+4). The "+4" would be the ch4 that creates the 1st Ext-dc of row 1. BUT...in order to have a 5-stitch group at each end - as opposed to one end resulting in a ch-2 portion - I suggest it be counted '7+7+7... +4+4'. This would be congruent to ch4 creating 1st ext-dc, ext-dc x4 to complete the 1st group of 5 stitches [each of those 2 steps requires 4ch], resulting in the final 5 stitches of the row to ALSO be a group of 5 ext-dc In the blanket I am making, I created a foundation-dc to build on, rather than a chain. I made 159 fnd-dc, turning, ch3 (for 1st stitch), and making 4 ext-dc before the 1st ch2 space. THIS count is then 7+7 (×22) +4. Am I making sense?
Yes I’d like to add that the stitch you used in the second row is called a front post dc ( fpdc). What a great pattern. I am wondering if it could work in the round.
Great stitch and. Great video too. Doesn’t matter what the stitch might be called, it’s just a simple matter of watching the video, and following instructions and there it is. No problems? I’m saving this for future reference too.
It actually does matter because if someone is a beginner and doesn't know the difference they may attempt to do other projects this way and have tons of trouble because they don't know any better. So yes it matters. I've been crocheting since i was 8 so 49 yrs experience. It matters always knowing one's stitches and how to make them correctly. 😊
Try slowing the speed. That should help. We get used to a voice, but if you're reading a pattern (before Al Gore's internet 😊) that's just you and a written pattern. Here, instead of doing what she says, you're doing what she does. I understand it takes getting used to if you've only had voiced tutorials. Enjoy.
BEAWARE !!: The video is using UK terms. Watch the whole video before beginning to CROCHET. The audio is calling a Triple stitch as a Double stitch. . .
@sehargahmad yes, multiples of 7. But if you watch she actually does 8 more chains then starts row 1 on chain 5 which is the second stitch of the set. In US terms these are triple crochet stitches rather than US double.
Those are NOT DC stitches. "Extended" DC perhaps - but not DC. DC is - with one loop on hook, YO. Insert hook in top of stitch of previous row, YO and pull through loop. You now have three loops on your hook. YO and pull through TWO loops on hook (one), YO and pull through last two loops on hook (two). THAT is a DC. Similarly with TC. With one loop on hook, YO TWICE. Insert hook in top of stitch of previous roow. You and pull through loop. You now have FOUR loops on your hook YO and pull through TWO loops on your hook (one). YO and pull through next TWO loops on your hook (two). YO and pull through last TWO loops on your hook (three). THAT is a Treble Crochet (TC). You always pull through TWO loops on your hook. I have no idea what that stitch in the video is called - but it's NOT a DC - as it pulls first through ONE loop - then two loops, then the last two loops - so it's more like either an extended DC - or a short TC. But it is definitely NOT a DC. And if this is supposed to be a teaching tutorial for beginners - the terminology and directions should be crystal clear. PS - I've been crocheting 70 years .. . . Also - look in any Diagrammatic book on crochet stitches. You'll find that what I've said above is totally accurate.

Gorgeous pattern and wonderfully demonstrated. Thank you so much.
beautiful stitch :)
This is beautiful..however that stitch is not a dc. It is an extended dc. Pulling through one loop then two and two. Extended dc.
I thought the same thing.
Bellissimo 😊
Thankyou for your explanation. I'm a medium beginner and was slightly confused by what was being done as opposed to what was written.
It is beautiful though and I'll definitely be giving it a try.

You can, tap screen to see the cog icon, then press that. One of the options is playback speed, you can speed up or slow it down as you want.

The beginning chain count is listed incorrectly as well. 7+7+4+4 is the correct chain count.

Please can you elaborate? So we chain in multiples of 7 and where does the 4 +4 go
