All Eyez On Me. Is one of the greatest albums ever. The production & mixing are so crisp. That album hits like no other.
Personally my favorite album of all time
I think that The Mixing is horrendous on All Eyez On Me.
Htptiwny [i.e., (May) Peace & Blessings be unto You (All)]
100% Still my fav album ever... And arguably the Greatest Hip Hop/Music Album of All Time. The album was mixed and mastered to perfection. You got a classic of every type of Rap Record on there, from Funerals, to Clubs, to Gangsta Rap to Anthems to Female Records... Insane.
I Still play it to this day start to finish (Yes... I sing along to Whatz ya Phone # too)... Over 25 years after it was released.
Quik did a wonderful job. 🙌👏👏
The mix down was terrible…
DJ Quik is one of the most underrated overall artists of all time.
His mixing is second to none (pun intended).

Say most underrated producer not artist. I agree when it comes to production
Man i was 14 in 96...you couldn't go anywhere without hearing that CD
I was 13 Great to 👂 so much insight from behind the scenes on so many 💿 we all loved and hold dear to our memories growing up
Album came out when I was 16. Loved the day that album came out I came home and my dad had the album sitting in front of my cd player. He bought two copies.
That's dope. Can't do that with kids anymore.
Was 16 also fam those were the days
Yup! Maaan I had a discman that took 6 AA batteries and was loud. I jammed that cd so loud the bus driver kick me off the bus...lol!
Back when buying cds mattered. the cover art, and reading album info
I was 12 years old when all eyez on me came out and I was also with my dad. I told my dad to stop by the Cd Store. I bought the cassette tape. (Couldn't afford a cd player) I tripped out because it was 2 All Eyez On Me cassettes taped up together. I didn't know it was a Double Album. The guy at the cd store told me thats how it comes with 2.
All eyes on me was leaked and still sold over 5 million in few months.
It was significantly more expensive than every other album in 96, and still sold 6 million copies and rising by August 1996... in the era before mass internet streaming and social media bs hype like we have today
@@TheHumanBallsack People bought albums back then too though, like you said before internet streaming and so on so you had to go out and buy the album unless your boy got it and made the tape for you. It was more expensive though being the double album (First one if I am correct out of the ones that came in that era?) so impressive regardless.
You couldn't bootleg it very easily. You could have tried to bootleg it on tape but someone else would have already has to have it on tape... the leak didn't affect the sales one bit..
ALL EYES ON ME... greatest album of all time
I personally think The Don Killuminati album is the greatest Hip Hop album ever produced. Mixed down like one long movie (hardly any gaps between each track and has a cinematic opening and closing), amazing "minimalist" production from Hurt-M-Badd and Daryll Harper, classic G funk sound courtesy of QDIII, hard as nails delivery and the original artwork depicting Dr Dre being sodomised by a pink tutu wearing Puff Diddly was hilarious... not to mention the eerie mythology that now surrounds the album's 7 day genesis, the subtle background ad libs Pac added to call out Nas for sounding like Rakim and cussing out De La Soul, the Tibetan throat singing in the opening of Toss It Up, the devilish voice in the opening of Blasphemy. Even Hail Mary had a very Memphis styled slow bass and church bells sound which Pac himself was looking for instead of the stuff he'd used previously... very Playa Fly/Three 6 Mafia/Kingpin Skinny Pimp style on that track
The don killuminati album had very bad and rushed productions to me, a few tracks were on point, like me andy girlfriend, but 70% of the album was subpar IMO
Only Built 4 Cuban Links was better.
I think Makaveli is tupacs best work and my favorite album of all time including the tracks that were cut off the album

Warren G & Nate Dogg - “Regulate” is one greatest songs I’ve ever heard in life. Warren G should of been on Death Row because Def Jam didn’t want Warren G by his second album. Def Jam would not even include Warren on there advertisements. Warren sold over 3 million copies for the album Regulate The G-Funk Era.
Warren G's first album saved Def Jam, in some respects.
I seen a Warren G interview where he said he was told to sign a contract with Death Row, but he wanted to read over it, and Suge pulled it back and never offered it again. That's why he went on his own

Never knew that AEOM leaked story. Interesting to say the least. Dj Quik's wizardry in mixing albums has always been right on par with Dr. Dre's. Dre and Quik's clean mixes were a key part of that Death Row "sound."
As far as Warren G's recent interview with Talib Kweli, Warren told that same award show story several years ago on the Combat Jack podcast. It's just not too many people heard it. I think Suge was still out when that interview took place, so I don't think Warren was "shook" to tell that story. The story's plausible. Warren G didn't put any unnecessary extras on it or give the impression that he punked Suge.
Snoop never claimed he wrote Warren G's whole album. He told Charlamagne "my pen had something to with that." Obviously Snoop ghost wrote "This DJ," which is all his cadence and wordplay at the time. Kurupt wrote "Do You See." Suge might've known they wrote those songs, but there was no legally binding paperwork, so he had no legal recourse. Suge was gankin' all his artists publishing just like P. Shitty does at Bad Boy, so it made sense for Tha Dogg Pound to help their homeboy, Warren G, while not receiving official credits.
Quik and Dre's music always sound crisp and clean as uck 💯
Donovan Dirt Bike Smith was a top flight engineer that dre used from jump street and Lance Pieare was in there in them death row days early he is thought to be the first to mix in surround sound but always remember without great mastering a great mix is just about worthless so dont forget about Big Bass Brian Gardner mastering genius
Exactly! That’s why ain’t nobody worth listening to is on Bad Boy records. Name me 5 good rappers that R signed to Bad Boy Records right now. I will wait.
It's funny, most of the people hating on Reggie or dissing him for being an ex cop are mostly people who haven't had any run ins with the police.
When this album dropped I was 16 junior year in high school and the day it dropped I just got out of doing 30 days in the youth detention center in New Brunswick New Jersey smh that album was just what I needed and being the only pac fan in my crew cause everyone was on biggies shit I had my portable CD player with my big ass headphones on with a sweatband around the headphones so I get that extra bass lol this waaaay before beats by Dre and iPods and cellphones we just had our beepers our boom boxes, walkmans, and expensive ass CD players and the day I got out my moms took me to get this album my CD player a Nike red and black shorts and basketball jersey and the black Jordan’s with the red bottoms and plastic around the side wow remember that day like it was yesterday lol plus I got probation for a year smh that sucked lol the good ole days fo sure though!!!! Oh can’t forget the D batteries for your boom box mine took 8 batteries and I used to get Duracell and they was expensive ass batteries and when I couldn’t afford them my grandma (rest in peace love her and miss her so much) used to give me the batteries with the cat on them that she used to keep in her room for me when I needed batteries lol I just miss those days so much the whole 90s decade was the best from the music, clothes, movies, tv shows remember the starter pullover jackets I had a cowboys, and Miami hurricanes pullovers I got to stop cause I’ll write about the 90s forever lol and I’ll leave it at this I remember when the Makaveli album dropped my senior year and I was pissed off cause that album was amazing and PAC was just starting to drop some dope ass shit and taking from us cause of some bullshit shady shit Smmfh and know Puffy had that all set up but his day is coming
Ayooooo u hit it on the head with the homemade Beats by Dre's before they existed ....putting the headband over the big headphones for extra bass 😂😂😂😂😂
Man the 90s! I can talk about the 90s almost like you bro! I had a red ford escort and had just installed a kenwood cd player in it and I went to CO Springs to go shopping with my girl and I bought the cd and she got the tape (double tape) cause she had a tape player in her ride. I had two ten inch kickers in the hatchback with a precision power amp and used to bump Pac all day. I also had a sony walkman with the extra base nob and rechargable batteries. I had the white AJ 11s with the patent leather with a blue kevin garnett jersey. I remember the first time listening to All Eyez On Me and thinking ok disc one has about 4 tight tracks and disc two has about the same, not realizing at the time that both disks were actually filled with classic material. I also had a champion Michigan Wolverines pullover hoodie like your Hurricanes one I would wear. And when the Makaveli album dropped I was a freshman in college, i'm just a yr older than you, and I remember I reserved a copy at Musicland in the mall and that is my favorite album to this day. The night Pac got shot I was watching the Tyson fight at a friends house and remember Pac hugging Tyson in the tunnel after the fight. Then 6 days later I was at a party in Boulder CO when someone relayed the message that Pac had passed, it was a day after my 19th birthday, I had a domino's pizza for dinner with my girl at her dorm. Unlike you all of my crew loved Pac and we would bang All Eyez or Me Against the World constantly. I have a question for you man, what was it like being the only one who loved Pac out of you and your crew and living in NJ? Did you catch heat for it, what did your homies say? Would they talk shit about Pac? Hopefully Puffy's day will come bro, because I believe he is behind it.

AEOM sound was so ahead of it’s time in 96’. I remember Alanis Morisette was #1 at the time it AEOM was released but Pac to the #1 for 2 weeks and the Alanis Morisette grab the spot back. Jagged little pill went on to sell 30+ million. Crazy times! When CD’s and cassettes were sold. Late 1995-1996 was an unforgettable time, Pac joined DR and Jordan came back with the greatest season ever.
I think Alannis M and Pac being on top of the charts throughout 96 was the reason they both began to collaborate on restaurants together as he said in his Apr 96 interview on Sway... sad that nothing ever came of it
Yeh Jordan and Pac returning made that season 🔥

Once again Reggie isn't lying about the album being leaked early. I bought the bih from "Peaches" record shop in New Orleans about a week or so before the release date. I bought the double cassette, bumped it & brought the bih straight to ESJHS. My homie Dom went to the same spot & got his shit early too.
