It’s amazing how Death Row legitimately crumbled within a two month span. Yeah, the soundtracks and greatest hits collections moved units but the game passed them by when Suge got locked up.
@@brixtonmystery back in ‘96 when Dre left the impact wasn’t really noticeable. At that point Pac was the biggest artist and Death Row was riding that wave. I still remember later in 96 when Dre dropped his 1st Aftermath album the consensus was that it flopped. Theo from 92.3 premiered the “Been there done that” single and even said on air that it just wasn’t the same.

@@gangstamack8397 fact of the matter is Dre didn't do all those beats he took credit for, so his loss wasn't felt. If Pac was alive, Death Row would have kept rolling on.
@RC that’s untrue. Jimmy gave Dre a label deal & complained to Suge that he didn’t understand Dre’s new vision. Interscope had to be happy with the sales of Dogg Food & All Eyez On Me as well as the anticipation of Makaveli & The Doggfather, because they raised Suge’s monthly advances & greenlit over 6 projects after Dre left. It was Suge’s incarceration that killed the deal.
I subscribed a week ago man I love the Death Row stories I can't get enough.
People can say what they want about Reggie, he's still consistent with his story thru it all. Damn, Kenner made that one move and possibly cost Suge 4 years. 🤦🏾♂️ I heard that's the trip where some luggages (including some tapes) were left and some tapes was damaged due to the rain, so much so that those tapes were later baked to recover what was on them.

In my state, their are 3 words that folk don't pay too much attention to, certainly don't feel all that's implied behind them, and those words are "with your consent" which almost always precede a judgment placing somebody on probation. So where there is an alleged violation and the probationer feels like, oh, this is too much, this is unfair, po/da/court you're tripping, The system is thinking if that's you feel we have a perfect solution to that, revoke and activate, cause you don't have to be on probation from the git go. Its not for everybody, that's why we need your consent to even subject you to it. We don't need your consent to lock you up on a conviction. But we do need it to place you on probation, cause you got the right to say, fuck probation.

You can’t be serious. Not Kenner’s fault. The Court was going to find out about “Vegas” and violate Suge’s probation. Suge was a high profile celebrity and any legal transgressions in Vegas or LA or anywhere else would get get publicity and law enforcement exchanges that information. Blaming Kenner is dumb.
That Vegas incident was caught on the surveillance cameras and that made the courts decision easy to lock Suge up

@@ryansaunders65 if you violate your probation the judge can enforce the original sentence in your case. Kenner did what he could to defend Suge but the videotape of the fight did not help Suge. The fact that it was related to gang activity and Tupac was killed that night probably caused the Judge to look at how serious this was and not just a simple”kick”.
