Thank you so much for this video! I love my Go and I’ve been using it for 30 Inks 30 Days. The piston has gotten really stiff and I didn’t know how to take it apart. Now it’s all greased up and ready to go!
I bought one of these from you all on the day they became available -- great pen! By far the easiest pen to clean I've ever owned. That powerful and fast spring mechanism is as good as a bulb for flushing out old ink. And I like the fact that you can see the spring too, sort of a modern, "sci-fi" look to it.
I like my Go and think it’s a great kick around pen. I like it better than the Eco. It can be hard to fill find some bottles. It might be actually easier to fill in those cases with the spring removed and working the plunger manually. I bought the 1.1 in blue and am thinking about picking up the B in smoke. The GO will not replace my more expensive pens, but it does make a great pen that you don’t have to worry about. It also works great carried around in a pocket. It does not seem to be affected by body heat as much as other pens. Unlike the Pilot MR and Lamy Safari the nib does not dry out! New users tend to let their pens dry out between uses and TWSBI pens can go long times between uses, GO included. It’s a great pen for a new user.
I popped over here from FB just to see if this had been caught. 😆 I thought it looked more like Kon-Peki, but since i'm usually wrong, I had to check lol.
I just received my TWSBI Go order from you today! I bought because of name and price. I immediately went to your channel for filling tutorials. When I filled mine, I thought the bubbles were user error, but I expect they are unavoidable with a one hand technique. Anxious to enjoy experiences.
I had no intention of buying a Go (have 2 Minis and a Vac Mini) until I saw it has a ring to attach it to a lanyard. I thought that might be kind of cool to add to my urban sketching arsenal. It works very well and I am happy. I hope the edge of the cap won’t crack like some of my Platinum Preppys did.
Love TWSBI, and have my Vac700 and 580ALR inked up right now. I wish TWSBI would make a crystal clear eyedropper like the Opus 88 Demonstrator but in their own classy style.
One thing not mentioned, is how easy it is to clean, it would blitz any pen in a shoot out for cleaning. In a sink with a jar overflowing with running water, all you do is 5 plunges and it's clean! 8 seconds and you're ready to dry and refill.
I ordered this pen from Goulet plus some of the ink samples you offer. I wouldn't even know what to do with the pen, if you didn't make such great videos. I am going to use the hole on the side of the pen to string it around my neck and never lose it. lol. YOu guys are super!
I will be receiving my second twisby (a broad, already have an extra fine) today! My big bottle of Quink, should last for years, saving the landfill many pen. Fountain pens should be on everyone's Be Greener/Be Sustainable/Save the World list.
The Goulet Pen Company I like Robert Oster Peppermint Candy too. I put it in my Lamy All Star Vibrant Pink and I’ll put the Vibrant Pink ink in my yellow Lamy Safari.
Thanx Guys for another great Write Now! The GO is my first TWSBI and I simply love it, hands down! My next TWSBI will be an ECO which I believe a new one/color is coming out in a couple of weeks! Can't wait!
Hi! I enjoyed this video. Especially got a chuckle out out the camera person taking the bottle of ink off the table so the guys didn't get a chance to spill it! That was classic! I'm in the small point / nib, small line spacing camp. 0.38 / 0.4mm gel pens and 4 or 5mm line spacing. I'm new to fountain pens but I find the 0.3mm Preppy pretty thick. The 0.2mm is much better in my personal opinion. Would the extra fine on the Go be comparable to the 0.2mm Preppy nib?
It should get pretty close. You can compare these nibs with our Nib Nook tool (www.gouletpens.com/pages/nib-nook ) to see writing samples of each. - Colin
My question is, I am in between of the Pilot Metropolitan and this TWSBI GO, which one you think is good to start with? I bought one fountain pen 3 weeks ago and it doesn't write well when I go up and also found out that is medium nib is too medium lol, I want something better and fine or extra fine.
Would you consider redoing the top 5 pens for beginners video with all the new pens that have come out since that video? I know the TWSBI and the Nemosine should really be on that list.
Yeah, not sure if a redo is in order as Brian still loves those first 5, but a part two? That would make sense! Lots of great pens now to talk about; GO, Magnum, Jinhao Shark. - Colin
My Go has just arrived. It will not fit into a little Diamine 30ml half-full bottle. Also the peculiar double-flare at the nib end is a bit of a nuisance , when wiping , after filling. However , my Medium nib is a good wet writer with Diamine Havasu Turquoise.
This is definitely not a pen for me, because I love the ease of cleaning my converter pens. However, I do love how easy Twsbi pens are to take apart and tinker with!
Are these fairly wet writers with a broad nib? I'm looking for a relatively inexpensive pen with a broad or double broad nib for shimmer / shading inks like J. Herbin Emerald of Chivor, Organics Studio Nitrogen, and De Atramentis Heliogen Green (which doesn't flow in anything I own).
The spring is so the piston pulls back up after pressing down. I think if you would remove it, you'll have to physically pull the piston up to draw the ink. It'd be similar to the Noodler's Ahab filling mechanism, I think it'd work. - Colin
I bought the TWSBI GO really early on from TWSBI. [M] It is great but I have an issue when trying to write quickly. It writes dry when I write fast in cursive. Not all the time but it can be annoying to have to go back and go over where it didnt write. I sent it back to TWSBI and they wrote with it. Sampled it with the ink I use (Iroshizuko). ANd they said it writes not just good but great. They sent my pen back. I dont know why or if it is just me but is there anything I can do about it? Im araid to bend the nib or ruin it.
Giving it a good shake to force the ink down through the feed to saturate it is probably your easiest option. Do that as you write so it'll write wetter even when writing fast. Beyond that, nib & feed alterations could work but that's a bit of a hack and outside our wheelhouse. - Colin
Hi! I was thinking about buying a Twsbi fountain pen and I'm looking for any info about the ink capacity, I'd really like to buy the pen with the most ink capacity. Can you help me finding those infos?
All of the TWSBI pens have their ink capacity on our site under 'Technical Specs': www.gouletpens.com/collections/twsbi . The Vac700R is definitely the largest though with 2.37ml of ink capacity: www.gouletpens.com/collections/twsbi-vac700r-fountain-pens/products/twsbi-vac700r-fountain-pen-clear - Colin
Most people will recommend taking a cup of distilled water and use the filling mechanism to fill and empty the pen a few dozen times (Fill from cup, empty into sink, otherwise you're just rinsing with more inky water). With "most" pens it is much, much easier to disassemble and use an Ear Bulb to flush the nib and feed. I'm not sure if the TWSBI GO has anywhere that a bulb would easily grip onto, but with the plunger-filler I'm not sure if a Bulb would even be very much faster.
Challenge: you have lost all of your fountain pen stuff, what do you buy with 500 dollaars. You don't get free samples for ink. You can keep all your knowledge. This includes things like bulb syringes and ink syringes.
"This is a TWSBI Go, Brian!" Drew always cracks me up.
Andi‘s seen these guys in action before! Notice how she snagged that open bottle of ink and got it out of harm’s way before anything bad happened? :)
Lol, that's what I thought also. What would we do without women to protect us from ourselves?
I noticed that too... it's not her first rodeo with these, um, clowns! ;)
Thank you so much for this video! I love my Go and I’ve been using it for 30 Inks 30 Days. The piston has gotten really stiff and I didn’t know how to take it apart. Now it’s all greased up and ready to go!
Glad it was helpful! -Rachel

I'm going to get one of these (and some ink) as a reward for myself soon for work I've done towards my PhD. (57 days to submission)
Good luck! Sometimes it feels like you're never gonna finish it after so long, but you'll get there! Congrats on your hard work!!! Xd
Thank you :) I'm being hopeful.
I just got a Go yesterday. I really like it. I like my Eco too. But the Go is super lightweight and makes it really good for longer drawing sessions.
Hello! Any feedback with the time? Does it good as the eco? Strong enough?
Thank you, Brian and Drew. Go, Speedwriter, go. I like the obvious mechanism of the spring.
well, was that bottle Ku-Jaku or Kon-Peki, then ?? Brian and Drew wrote different things on their thank you notes!
Looks like Kon-Peki to me.
I didn't catch that, but it's definitely Kon-Peki! Come on Brian, that's your ink! - Colin
hahaha! Check it out at 6:20!
I popped over here from FB just to see if this had been caught. 😆 I thought it looked more like Kon-Peki, but since i'm usually wrong, I had to check lol.
..and did Brian sign as Drew? Haha.

You guys should do a funny episode where you try to hit a target/each other by squirting ink out of a pen. I bet the Go would be great for ink fights!
Pressing the plunger down does shoot the ink pretty far! Tested it when I cleaned it out the first time...- Colin
By making the TWSBI Go, the TWSBI brand is now more accessible. Maybe, I might get one on a later date.
Twsbi has definitely become one of my favourite pens. Sadly, due to taxes and shipping, their price where I am isn't exactly as affordable
1:52... In Canada Amazon...TWSBI Go costs $55 Canadian .
TWSBI ECO costs $60 Canadian.
I had no intention of buying a Go (have 2 Minis and a Vac Mini) until I saw it has a ring to attach it to a lanyard. I thought that might be kind of cool to add to my urban sketching arsenal. Just purchased 2 of them. Can't wait! Thanks
I NEED a second Eco! Juuuuuuust waiting for that blue special edition to actually be available!
Love TWSBI, and have my Vac700 and 580ALR inked up right now. I wish TWSBI would make a crystal clear eyedropper like the Opus 88 Demonstrator but in their own classy style.
It's like an Eye droppered Twsbi but with the spring in its rightful place. Very neat idea 👍👍
One thing not mentioned, is how easy it is to clean, it would blitz any pen in a shoot out for cleaning. In a sink with a jar overflowing with running water, all you do is 5 plunges and it's clean! 8 seconds and you're ready to dry and refill.
Absolutely! It is a a very satisfying cleaning experience, especially if you're wanting to try a few different inks. - Colin
What timing , I am actually waiting on my new GO to come in the mail today 👍 cant wait to play with it !!!!
Thanks for the good review of the Go! I wish it had a clip, but I know it will get on my Goulet shopping list,
Wow, easy enough for me. The TWSBI GO is my new go-to! (And I am a college graduate.) Thanks, guys.
"Plunger." It's called a plunger. The GO's filling mechanism. :D
Oooo.... GO, a great stocking stuffer for Christmas!
Looks like the perfect pen for testing inks. Quick flushing and likely just as easy to deep clean.
I love my Go, but really wish it had a clip. Do you know if the clip for a Kaweco Sport would fit on the Go?
I ordered this pen from Goulet plus some of the ink samples you offer. I wouldn't even know what to do with the pen, if you didn't make such great videos. I am going to use the hole on the side of the pen to string it around my neck and never lose it. lol. YOu guys are super!
I think it looks like a great pen, and I'd be happy to add one to my line-up. I'll be interested to see if they come out with other colors.
Knowing TWSBI, I'd be very surprised if there aren't special edition colors in the future. - Colin
I will be receiving my second twisby (a broad, already have an extra fine) today! My big bottle of Quink, should last for years, saving the landfill many pen. Fountain pens should be on everyone's Be Greener/Be Sustainable/Save the World list.
I think if the go was as clear as the eco i would give it a try :) for now the eco has my attention.
I just got my TWSBI Go. Can’t wait to ink it up with Diamine Arctic Blue!
Great combo! Arctic Blue is one of my favorite shimmering inks. - Colin
The Goulet Pen Company I like Robert Oster Peppermint Candy too. I put it in my Lamy All Star Vibrant Pink and I’ll put the Vibrant Pink ink in my yellow Lamy Safari.
I watch because drew and Brian are awesome
1:06, Well I'm a HIghschool student and I use a Pelikan M800 among others pens,
I'm with Drew about the broad nibs. My handwriting is also very large
Thanx Guys for another great Write Now! The GO is my first TWSBI and I simply love it, hands down! My next TWSBI will be an ECO which I believe a new one/color is coming out in a couple of weeks! Can't wait!
Yep, Transparent Blue Eco, tentatively scheduled for Sept. 20th! - Colin

Awesome I will check that out, thank you! (:
Thanks for this video and starter video. I'm a newbie and still learning until I make my decision.
I was filling my Go. Any hints on cleaning Baystate Blue off of my desk!? Lol
You can try some bleach / water solution!

So what is the little half circle on the cap for? Lanyard carry?
It's mostly just a roll-stop since it doesn't have a clip, but you could thread something through that too! - Colin

@@kohakuaiko this was meant for Brian, I should have clarified that. He certainly could not do it for 300 dollars.

Lol, that's true.
It's starting to grow on me.
l i want to try the twsbi go and funny blooper at the beginning :)
Pen = coffee table book... THis made me laugh.
