Hi chaps, just watching this one again. I had a lovely trip to Whitecliff Bay earlier this year, in great weather I might add, and stayed the night on anchor. It was beautiful. I didn’t go ashore but then enjoyed a trip round to Cowes, all solo and had a great couple of days. Andy UK

I had a solo overnight at Whitecliff earlier in the year Andy. It is a nice spot and rarely visited.

Nice anchor.. The owners of Bembridge Harbour, Malcolm and Fiona Thorpe are long time friends of mine and Malc was best man at my wedding. They have done a lot to upgrade the harbour and keep it dredged so glad you enjoyed it there. I raced with Malc for many years from the mid 80’s. It is one of my go to places from Chichester. Good video guys. Wicor marine further in harbour from Gosport is great. They now have walk ashore moorings, midriver pontoons or swinging moorings. Been there for years and would highly recommend it. Also much cheaper than premier.

Yes Chris, been there on a few occasions. Very friendly crowd and a nice walk to Portchester Castle. We will have to visit again soon, If I remember they have a nice little cafe. Thanks for the comment. Dave

When I sailed through the Solent almost exactly this time last year, there was a navigation hazard warning being broadcast on the radio. A small yacht had run aground near Bembridge and was breaking up. Nothing to do with you two was it? I have a 10kg Rocna for a 3.5 ton boat - so far it has been perfect.
