It takes a long time to skate through videos to find someone who can play guitar enough to show how it really sounds . Finally thanks
Mostly all crap, we need to dig for the good stuff, and then keep to that because otherwise the crap will cover you.
Brilliant! Tone, chops, choice of notes, articulation, phrasing...Tom Ibarra got it all! 👌
What an awseome player. Very talented! This guitar sounds perfect.
I picked up an AS73 several years back, and it's one of my favorites, even over my Gibsons, Fenders, and others. Everything about it is PERFECT.
That´s just my thoughts too. Very price worthy. It has that thick meaty tone that you get from a gibson 335 yet the price is a forth or fifth as much. It is my mission in life to spread this information to all the kids in the world. Let it be known, the Ibanez AS73 and 93 are superior in their range and superior over all!
So glad i found this, looking for a decent 335 copy for a long time now. I'll try to find a used 93 i guess.
This is the best sounding demo of the AS93 that I've heard. Tom's a great player.
Unfortunatly, this is a playback from his song Sparkling. He probably use his AR2619 or his AS200 to record it.
@@josselin77c Hey man, are you sure about this?
@@josselin77c it sounds like he is using a guitar synth!
@@josselin77c , I seriously doubt it. This is a demo of a particular guitar. If they were to use a different guitar to record it that would've been a huge fraud on behalf of ibanez and the performer. Don't think they would do such a thing.
P.S. That actually shows that a rather cheap guitar can sound fantastic in a mix and in the right hands. Although it seems that this one sounds a bit too bright to my ear. Or maybe I'm wrong.
Super 58 are bright pickups, I think they sound pretty nice, but I'd probably roll off the tone a bit.
This young guy is amazing! Excellent playing and composition with some Metheny elements sounds great.
Great playing! Him on jazz and Christone "Kingfish" on blues are the new breed! 🙌🏽
That sound and tone 😍😍
So young and having a so nice vocabulary in jazz...bravo...
Superb, both the play and the axe. Bravo.
I see artcore series in my dreams😭🖤🖤🖤🎸
Is that spike speigel from cowboy bebop?
You're gonna carry that jazzy sound..
Oh my god lol
My first thought, too! (check out Tom's album cover for Sparkling)
But even though Spike digs Jazz Fusion, he can't cast the spell this young man can.
Kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk LoL
I just ordered this guitar but I cant play like this guy but he sure is inspiring
Mine just showed up today. Great guitar, but yeah, I sure can't make it sound like that...
beautiful guitar, and kid is an awesome player! i have the as73, first series, great guitar!
what a musician !
Lovely sound. Reminiscent of Frank Gambale
What an incredible talent. I have an AS103NT which is fantastic but I really prefer the sunburst finish.
Time has come to switch to a different dimension. Brand spanking new AS93FML-VLS is on its way to me! As mainly Blazer, Roadstar, RG player I am testing AS series now. I tried AS73 loved it but wanted a higher spec so ordered AS93 as it still suits my budget and my tonal (Super 58 pickups) and visual preferences (gold hardware and EBONY (!!!!) fretboard) and 3 piece neck!!!!! It looks class!!! Cant wait. I love Ibanez guitars, its japanese roots and specs.
Initial thoughts?
Lovely looking and such a warm tone!
Excellent model. I add a Duesenberg tremolo on mine.
Thanks , Beautiful , a good Sound Ibanez.......
Sounds and looks beautiful!
this guitar is awesome and awesome player .
Awesome sound Mr......
This guy is the "Spike Spiegel" of Jazz guitar.
Mostly because of the "do", but also because of the cool....
Great tune and vibe ;)
I am using as75 good to see this guitar.
Even though I am a huge John Scofield fan, I didn't too much care for AS73s back in the day. Something about the design of their neck joint. But I'm putting it back on my music gear bucket list. They may look like 335s, but they are a different animal in terms of tone and playability.
Questo suono mi ipnotizza, bellissimo.
Still smokin' 5 years later...
Everything about that guitar is yes.
Wahouuuuu!!! Je kiffe grave. A quand un si joli jazz dans nos radios pourries par la médiocrité ? Merci
Magnifique
Kurt Rosenwinkel vibes
Bloody hell, I'll buy one of these if it gives me hair like that his
It's like Spike Spiegel stepped out of our dreams and picked up a smooth jazz guitar...Lol
yes.
Transcription wanted !!!
Did u get it?
@@alio_dte Nope
very nice
Hello,
Congratulations on the tutorials and music on RUclips.
I respect you very much.
You are already very good despite your young age.
You are very sensitive and virtuous and play with good taste.
You will become a GREAT MUSICIAN.
I'd like to ask you for advice.
I would like to buy a SEMI-ACOUSTIC GUITAR of the type 335.
I have seen these models that over time I will try.
IBANEZ AS93 or AS193.
Which of these, in your opinion in order of importance, can approach the sound of the GIBSON335
I thank you and always follow you.
I wish you and your family HAPPY HOLIDAYS and a NEW YEAR full of health, serenity, many beautiful things and the realization of your dreams, needs and desires.
Roberto
Fantastic. What brand and gauge of strings do you use?
What is the amp used and any pedals?
As far as I know he used a Boss GT100 and an Electro-Harmonix POG2 (for the "synth" sound) through a Roland Jazz Chorus amp. Hope this helps. Cheers! 😊
I have had both and would take an Ibanez's over a Gibson ES-whatever any day......but the what's up with the clunky heel joints of these modern artcores ? The old Schofield-y modeles necks attached to the body flush
Young genio
Tom Ibarra is a french guy and he is only 19 years old!!!
whats the radius bra
Is this a semi hollow?
i think so
People constantly trivialize the unique sound of this design by describing the Ibanez line as basically a pretty good attempt to replicate a 335. No…. The Ibanez is a legitimately different design and construction. I just wanted to mention this because people seem to compare the two, and either not notice how different they really are, or assume that no semi-acoustic design is as “valid” as the 335. Bit of a tangent… I just find my Ibanez so much better for me than a 335…. and people think I just settled. 😂
🤙
Ooh
That did indeed showcase a very talented player. What it didn't do was demo the guitar. What I was hoping for were different set ups for the pick-ups regarding volume and tone, and strumming for different styles of music. How does it handle a heavy hand or soft touch? Strum chords in inversions to see the response differences. Explain what amps would handle the best. Maybe show how it works with a pedal or two.
There are plenty of "check the boxes" reviews on YT.
This artist shared one of his finest compositions featuring the AS93-FM.
This is a playback. Listen to the song "Sparkling". Probably use his AS200 or his AR2619.
...was this improv? I would buy this as a track.
Sure. You don't think as he has it memorized, do you
late response, but its part improv and part his track "eucalyptus"
No, this is playback. The song is Sparkling. Well, second part of the song
fresh
;●)
Six head shakes per note beats Yo Yo Ma.
y pitone en St-Ciboire
Sorry for using such old fashioned terms, but your playing is hot
Jazzstin Bieber
What Amp?
from what I can see of it, It looks like a Roland . Maybe a JC 40
Why do i feel tash wolf vibes?
when you hear Tash, you can get Tom Ibarra vibes actually
The only reason I don't buy it is that it costs more for left-handed people than for right-handed people.
After all these years... I still don't understand jazz...
I don't understand it, but I love it.
Here's the first lesson; Jazz doesn't need to be understood, it needs to be felt.
Why you write hollowbody? Seriously why?
Brand becomes irrelevant.
