    DUDE! I CANT THANK YOU ENOUGH!!! I struggled with this for 2 days not wanting to undo the cables, I did EVRYTHING backwards and lost several small pieces behind the dash. Your video helped me salvage a DISASTER!!! THANK YOU for taking the time to make this!!!

    Great video! Replaced my stereo with a new Sony stereo following your instructions. Only differences is I didn't need to fully remove the glove box. And removing those metal clips were much harder than you showed it to be. Could be my fragile girl fingers weren't strong enough to push in the clips. But eventually I got them off, not without some blisters the next day.
    The whole thing was actually really easy. Thanks!

    Hey man, thank you for taking the time to show how to handle those cables! I don't know how I would've figured out how to get my stereo out without it.

    very helpful video. I had found the little screws behind the cup holders myself but didn't know about the wires below the wheel and glove box. Thanks a lot!

    Very Good info. I easily pulled my stereo. You saved me a lot of time. I did not pull the panel under the steering wheel and found more than adequate access to the 2 control cables.Very easy, Crutchfield made it sound difficult. Thanks again.

    lol ok I recently invested in an MP3 stereo installation because when i bought my 2004 Hyundai Accent used it had a tape stuck in the assembly. I just got fed up with removing all that dash shit and literally took a hacksaw and cut the bezel in two places under the radio port. works and it looks like its part of the design.

    man i hope you’re still active here 10 years later... i unhooked the cables all 3 and the one for clock control. yet the dash wont come out all the way still

      Man, sorry to hear that. You have any idea where the bezel is catching? Top? Bottom?

      Old comment I know but for anyone else, make sure you remove the AC control cables from the little metal clips that hold them in place as well as disconnecting them so they can be pulled out slightly. But don't pull the dash too far out or the the AC cables will be hard to find again.

    I drive a 2000 accent gl. Would you say the two (being in the LC year category) are similar in regards to center console removal? I'm doing this to replace my cup holders, as they were broken when I purchased it.

    Hi, could you please tell me if the evaportaor ( of the air conditioned) can be taken out by down the glove box? or in case it does not, do I must take out all the dash board? Thank! I am very complicated with this!

    • @Maper8
      @Maper8 8 лет назад

      probably too late, but I had to replace the evaporator on my 05 accent and you have to remove the whole dash in order to take it out, a mechanic did it for me though...its a PITA

    how can I change the volume of fan it's run always

  • @meters_and_madness

    I know this is 10 years late.. but Hyundai really did the consumer no favors when it comes to installing aftermarket speakers / stereo. I helped my friend do this today. It was way more of a pain in the ass than on a Civic. For the love of god why dont rear speaker covers just clip in.. it's the little things.

    • @TarponboyAuto
      @TarponboyAuto  4 года назад

      Good question. Just a total guess, but maybe they do not see their typical customer performing a stereo/speaker upgrade. Or perhaps it is not a commonly asked for feature. Not sure.

    I have a tape adapter that I use to connect to my ipod, which I then listen to instead of the radio, but the tape or maybe the cord of the tape is stuck inside the cassette slop, so i'm hoping this video will help with removing the console so I can get to the tape adapter.

    I have been trying to find documentation on whether or not the stock stereo in the Hyundai Accent has a 3.5mm Line-in jack on the back. I didn't look like it from your video but I wanted to see if you knew (or anyone else knows). Thanks

    How the hell is his so complicated when thieves take the radio in 5 seconds?

    • @brendandub2988
      @brendandub2988 10 лет назад +5

      Because if you're a thief, you're going to want to just pry off the console, regardless of the damage and take the stereo out. Taking out a stereo is easy, but doing it without damaging your car gets a bit trickier.
