A custom key that's helped a lot: boxes for 'migratable' tasks, and dots for 'non-migratable' tasks. A box would be for something like 'change air filter' because if I migrate that to tomorrow, it counts as the same task. But 'walk the dog' can't be migrated because doing it today or tomorrow counts as separate tasks.
My custom bullets are: a little present for birthdays, a film projector for movies watched, a stick figure for friends, a cooking pot for food I make, and an envelope if we expect some packages. Also in my wall calendar I use blue for things that happen (birthdays) and red for things I have to do (appointments).
I'm using a key, not because i need it, but because future me (like, 89 yo me) wouldn't remember what any of it meant. So it's more for future reference for me :)
Heck yeah for doing future-you a favour 👏 find that even looking back at some of my previous habit trackers (~2-3 years ago) it would have been nice to specify what each of the symbols represented 😝💜
I also have colours in mind when thinking about my life's different areas 😃 My colours: work is orange finances are green (money is green in my head, even though our Euro bills have different colours xD) mental health is also pink physical health / physical activity is yellow and my dog is purple (her name is Leela, which sounds like "lila" - the German word for violet, so I have associated this colour with her since we first met her) 😄
I don't colour code in my journal, but I do inconsistently use colours in my google calendar. Doctor's appointments are orange and fun/special events are purple (because it's the prettiest colour, obviously). I also associate my dog with red and my daughter with lilac - I don't know why though 🤔
I don't use a key, but I do use a tip-in with for tasks that I do on a weekly basis and have circles to fill in upon completion. I use washi tape on papers that I have medical/contact information so I don't have to rewrite them for each journal. I switch up the washi tape when migrating usually.
That one says "sort" (though I can totally see why you saw it as soft 😝) That's just about taking the full brain dump and deciding where to put each entry 💪

I like the idea of happen vs do, that's a cool way to break it down! 💜
@@JashiiCorrin I'm a visual person, so that distinction with colors helps a lot :)
I will definitely try the removable key and icons for my next journals :3
Heck yeah! 💪

Haha same, our money bills are all different colours, but finance is still green in my mind 😝 Love the Leela is purple, that's so sweet 💜

I do the same for my purple tasks too; they're for social connection time 😄💜

Love a good tip-in 😄 Transferable collections like that can be so helpful with saving our future-selves time 💪
didn't know what they were until I started watching your content. 👊@@JashiiCorrin
I use gold for money, blue for mental health, green for physical health and work is purple
Oh cool! 😄💜 green with physical health makes sense in my mind 🤔 so does gold money 💰
What is a "soft task" in your reset? Time stamp: 2:06
That one says "sort" (though I can totally see why you saw it as soft 😝)

@JashiiCorrin aww geez color me purple! 🙈. I thought maybe this was a new task trend for ULTIMATE productivity. But 'sort' makes much more sense.
