Thank you for this tutorial video!✨ This helped me,I had a newborn parrot that was hatched and I didn’t know what to do,,.and u helped me!THANK YOU SO MUCH👍👍
yes , indeed a tutorial video ! Maybe one little ? thing to add : don't squeeze the crop when it is full... Feed can be squeezed back into the birds throat and it can be suffocated...
Basically I feel the crops of the bird and make sure its full but not hard. It must be spongy and have bounce to it, as the chicks get older I gradually increase a few mls ever so often
have one more query. My African Love Bird are only hatching their eggs but not taking care and feeding the baby. As it is said that every after 3 hrs we should hand feed them. What about overnight. Example if we feed at 11 PM so do we need to get up again and feed at 2 AM followed by again at 5 AM?
@@BrianVibert1 Oh thanks a lot for your reply. Yes I feed in that manner. I set alarm. But sometimes to get up from deep sleep becomes problematic if I can't hear the alarm.
I have a 7-year-old green cheek conure that needs to be fed "forcibly" it has pdd ... the vet told me to feed it 2 times a day, but the quantity can you tell me what it is?
Depends on the age of the birds. Usually between 4-5 to start and as their crops get larger, reduce down. Just have to gauge how quick their crops empty on first couple days
Parrots are amazing creatures but before getting one prepared to have them for life. Many parrots have life spans similar to that of a human. An they are difficult to rehome as they imprint on few people and because parrot rescues are often at full capacity due to people not prepared for the level of commitment or they sadly outlive their owners. But they are worth it if you're willing to put in the work.
It depends on the age of the bird and how much the crop is stretched. Just need to feel the crop to feel if it has enough and it shouldn't be to compressed as they bird needs a little bit of space in crop
@@BrianVibert1 okay I just want to make sure srry if I may be annoying so, I'm thinking of handfeeding cuz I want to free flight a baby so I wanna make sure I'm not doing it wrong so if I'm to scared to try put it in the crop I can just push the formula out little by little into the mouth and he/she will swallow it into their crop and, just to make sure there's no way he/she can actually swallow it into their lings right?
Now this what I call a tutorial video. Very helpful. Thanks. Tomorrow is the first day of hand feeding my green cheek conure.
Appreciate it, chicks got a little cold because I took so long to get camera angle right
Very well behaved children of yours they don't scream for food.
Wow! This has been the BEST video I've seen on this topic thus far. I now feel confident to carry out this procedure.
Appreciate it

You have to feel the crop, make sure its full but still soft to allow space for movement. 4-5 times a day
