Yooo boost, you have to put the shroud back on man. Especially as it heats up outside, in the winter time you can get away with it. But not in the summer. I put mines back on as it indeed does help with directing the cooloer air into the intakes from outside. It helps prevent it from sucking in the hot engine air. I can literally see and feel the difference due to the data logging of ecutek system where i can monitor everything thru bluetooth.

Ik you like the sound of the intakes when you remove the shroud but that shroud is a key part of your cooling system and all though it may not be overheating you are working the cooling system harder than necessary and over time may cause problems

But, dude, please tell us more about those gunmetal front lower lip pieces. I have never seen those before! They look sweet!
I have a black Red Sport and I did exactly what you mentioned, had the dealership paint just the chrome grill surround body color (Obsidian black), and left the grill alone, the gunmetal finish matches the wheels. Looks great, makes the whole front end look lower with the smaller looking grill with no chrome frame...........

If the accident wasn’t your fault you should have filed the claim to have the other insurance company fix it. I’m a CA claims adjuster so maybe laws slightly different in NY. But shouldn’t have cost you anything unless NY is a no fault state.
I have a q60 with the OEM grey grille. It came with a radient emblem, so if i bought this black grille would i be able to install the radient emblem on this one??

All those engine covers and "shrouds" do, is naturally retain heat.
That looks good the way you set it up.
I think the top shroud helps directs the air through the radiator so some of the air doesnt escape over the top
