Hope this guide clears up some of the misconceptions about the standard rotation being the strongest for Aphelios. This rotation can literally turn him into an entirely different champion.
Thank you so much for watching :)
Aphelios is the champ I play in League of Legends - Although my Aphelios plays may look weird and random, a lot of my plays can make for some insane aggressive outplays when using his weapons. I aim to just enjoy the game with Aphelios rotations, new League exploits/bugs, and make entertaining montages, highlights, and so on! If you want to learn Aphelios and how to play him in League, I leave guides and tips in my videos as often as I can, I also post a lot of Aphelios outplay highlights/montages if that's also something you are interested in. I appreciate all of you watching my content and stickin around, have a good rest of your day :)

Great guide! I played a lot of green-blue the past few months for testing purposes, inspired by some of your videos even. I also came to the conclusion that this rotation is likely just better in the early game but falls off later on, so ideally Aphelios players should be comfortable on both rotations.
One minor correction, you say at a certain distance you would need impossible attack speed to get the extra auto. I believe there is actually no attack speed that would get you the reset at too close distances. This is because blue Q locks you out of autoing for a specific time period; the extra auto relies on the lockout ending in time for you to issue an auto command, and on having enough attack speed for that command to go through before the green mark applies. Once you get to that maximum (minimum?) distance though, the Calibrum mark applies before the AA lockout ends, meaning attack speed stops helping and it just can’t be done.
A similar thing happens with the Calibrum Q auto reset. Attack speed helps you pull that off at closer and closer distances, but it can never be done from melee range because at a certain point the lockout from casting the ability causes it to land before it even allows you to input a command, meaning no amount of attack speed can help at that point.
It’s basically the same mechanic for both since they both rely on squeezing in an auto right before a Calibrum mark applies to auto reset with, but the higher lockout from blue Q means it’s a lot more distance-restricted, whereas the Calibrum Q reset works up to a lot closer, but both need a minimum amount of attack speed to even have your AA input go off before the Calibrum mark lands, and both need more AS to get it to work from closer distances up until the specific distance that each entirely stops working at.

      Awesome! :)
And yes, your explanation pretty much nails it. Your description using animation lockouts conveys the point better than what I could come up with, definitely spot on. :)

As you explained, I kept telling myself "well yeah but you miss out on Blue-Red" but then you said to just switch to the original rotation mid to lategame, and I felt dumb because honestly that should be obvious, I think many aphelios players got too used to there.l being one "best" rotation that we miss out on that strength of the champ. Plus, it's super convenient to return to the original rotation, so I'm sold and will try it out!

Something to add to the guide, you can ult when you are swapping to a new weapon during the animation. Meaning with red purple, there is the added benefit of purple q’ing someone with less than 10 ammo, then triggering the white gun weapon swap, and ukting during the weapon swap to get a (mostly) guaranteed white ult hit

I knew for a while that Blue-Green was better, but whenever I tried it in game, I found the damage was similar to green-purple so to have the root just seemed like the better option. Now that you've mentioned that you can squeeze in an extra auto and that it's only meant to be used in the early game, I feel inclined to try it again.
Also, red-purple abilities are actually really good together, but in my opinion the ults are bad, as red ult is only used when on low health and purple is almost never used because it sucks if you don't have gravitum ability (in my opinion). Kinda wish purple ult grounded or something idk.

I use both combos based on game, I always felt purple green rotation was popular because adc's weren't primary carries in season 10, if we look at worlds stats for that year for adcs we have: lucian(tripple flex mid, top, adc) 94 games, ashe 70 games, senna 64 games, ezreal 58 games, jhin 56 games. adc's in these games were tools for more than damage so green purple made sense as a combo. I do believe green blue was super popular in korea though because guma used to run it most games since they are interchangeable, you would also see him empty white before red on some baron takes so he could seige with blue white turrets on baron waves and reset to level 1 ish gun roation which i always thought was super underutilised.

I've mostly just been playing Aphelios in Arena (please bring it back and make it permanent, Riot), but I was curious if maybe the video had something that could help me out there. And honestly, this sounds amazing, and I'm surprised that I never thought of doing a rotation like this before.
Like, Severum-Gravitum in a mode where everyone and their mother is spamming tanks and fighters? That actually has the potential to be one of the strongest combos in the game, if I get lucky, and have it prepped against something like a Sett-Garen.
Calibrum-Infernum probably doesn't have as much of a potential, cus a lot of champions can often get stupidly tanky, and you do have the plants that can heal back your burst. But there's still a decent chunk of people that are playing squishier champs, and it's not like Cali-Grav or Inf-Sev would perform that much better overall, anyway.
So I'll definitely be attempting this, when the mode next rolls around.
    Wish me luck! :)

i started using red purple (but not blue purple yet, that happened after some pro player used it) because i ve been tired dying to bruisers and divers feeling that i dont have enough mobility, i even tried fleet + ghost + celerity + stormrazor. but one day i decided to change this stale rotation. red + white is cheese that can deal an insane amounts of damage just because of how autoing with crescendum works but you can't really squeeze it even in lane sometimes, not mentioning team fights. main dmg for phel after few items is calibrum sentry so you just need to keep that. and probably even that can't work sometimes (outrange). but why picking aphelios against assassins, artillery mages and high range adcs.

  • @owa1985
    @owa1985 3 месяца назад

And then here I am just randomly dropping guns because I suck and the w didn't buffer correctly thus confusing the enemy team. A shoutout to your usage of crescendum gravitum to slow the bad guys. Although I must say that I usually end up with those two because I tend to spend my gun ammo attempting to poke and since gravitum's q is the only one you can't cast randomly, I usually end up with a nearly full gravitum when crescendum rolls around.
Sometimes the other guys think I'm playing some weird 5d chess but in reality I'm just a scrub. Eheh 8D

Ngl, I was kinda skeptical about this combo because I didn't see a way how this would out DPS the old combo in the late game, but I love that you thought about that. Thank you; I now see it.
I have one question, though: Is it not just better to go for the combo in the second cycle? If you do, you can use the white-blue-into-red power spike, and you don't have to play with white-purple. If you follow the old first cycle and, in the second cycle, instead of going purple first, you go blue, you end up with the cycle talked about in this video.
The two reasons I can come up with that blue-green is at its strongest in that second cycle and/or that power spike is too predictable in high elo. I believe that this combo is at its strongest when you get Kraken. Am I wrong here? Is there another reason I'm not thinking about?
Please do let me know because I have been thinking about this since the first time I saw someone use this cycle. Thank you for the great video eitherway.
